I dunno, even with those two out of the picture we still have Wood, Edwards, THB, Stephens and Nico Lawrence who the club rate very highly as one of the younger lads. Charlie Taylor can also play as a third CB, and did so alongside THB at Burnley. Wood and Edwards have been signed as first team squad players.
-
I'd bloody well hope so! Even if we kept him we'd need to sign someone stacks better.
-
I think at this stage the club should just pull it, it's done. He's going to be missing chunks of pre-season now, and we have to plan alternatives. We can't let his limbo hinder what we need to do. Let's just replace him, let him go.
-
We're not signing anymore CB's, absolutley no chance. We feel we have the PL experience in Bednarek and Jack Stephens, and the huge potential in THB and Edwards - backed up by Woods. We won't get any more in this area. We're done at CB and I could even see us trimming that down by a player or 2 before the end of the window. Money needs to be thrown at the top end now.

I've always felt that he's the sort of player, with a run in a side, who could turn out to be above average at this level. Defo could be a squad forward for England with the game time behind him. I doubt he's available for under £25m. Palace tried to sign him last year for around £30m, but couldn't agree a price - so gave up, he then signed a new deal. £40m+ in my opinion, which is insane. I think we should have a look at a loan deal for him, but these are the sorts of deals that will crop up at the end of the window. Arsenal will obviously priorities a sale, but if there are no takers then for his benefit and their benefit (protecting value), they'll probably sanction a loan. That begs the question.....Ramsdale or Nketiah? You can only grab 1 loan from a PL club.
-
Worth a look? One source has told Sky Sports News that the 25-year-old Nketiah will leave Arsenal this summer. That will depend on Arsenal receiving a substantial offer. Nketiah found game time limited last season - starting 10 games in the Premier league.

Saints were keen on a loan with an option to buy for winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, but Palace do not want to see him move to a Premier League rival. Their plan is to loan him into the Championship for his development. The player, however, is keen on playing for Russell Martin.

I imagine Leeds fans are still buying up all our tickets.

Not entirely sure how Walker gets in.

I can actually claim that I'm fully in the know on this one. Reading have come in with a better offer, he was at Staplewood for his medical but Reading have won the race. Also, the Scottish FA are trying to poach Burley - we are seeking compensation. It should happen. #iwishwewerereading

They still have Neto as their first choice and club captain. Travers is second choice, and equally quite capable. If anything happens with Neto's situation I agree, they'd be all over it.

As was mentioned a few days back, I cannot see any other viable options in this country for him. The only reason he would want to leave Arsenal is to play. The fee won't come into the discussion as it will only ever be a loan without any options on it, we just need to figure out the wage split. I saw Newcastle mentioned - they've got Pope back from his long term injury, they also signed that Greek for £12m from Forest (as well as still having Dubravka). If he wants to continue as a bench keeper then by all means swap red for black and white.

Absolutely, kits are open to opinion. Some people will like it, some won't. I wish people would just go with 'I don't like it' comments rather than such extreme views. i.e. wanting to sack everyone associated with it etc. It's just stripes, honestly. As what you've said, in my opinion I don't like that Goztepe shirt, doesn't mean everyone hates it nor that the designers at the club should be sacked off.

Just saw that WHU are in advanced talks to sign Wan-Bisakka for around £15m from Man Utd. Looks like one less destination for KWP.

It's pretty bold - it's pink.

Yeah the rollbit logo really does make it look cheap, it's a shame. The starling logo on the red and white looks quite nice I think, although the Starling logo on the yellow is pretty much identical to Liverpool's kit of last year!

I think we need two - I can see us getting a striker in the 10-15m bracket, but I also seeing us get that "30m' striker on a loan at the end of the window. The club know that we need genuine quality in this area, so they'll focus on loans for this IMO - we wouldn't have the budget to get what we want permanent. I have faith in their loan picks as they've been great for the last year. I don't think we'll start the season with everyone we need though, might have to bide our time until the end of the window. I don't know who will be available, but loan coups come out of no where in the last few days of the windows sometimes. (THB and Brooks being a couple of recent ones)
-
If it's a loan with zero commitment then they won't be able to keep them, i think with someone like Ramsdale we will provide a platform for him to showcase himself again - there will never been a scenario where he signs for us permanently should he join us on loan. If he gets a move after us, it'll be to a bigger club if he's done well. This is why I think the club are looking at loans and free options in GK - I don't agree with it, but they've put all their eggs into the Bazunu basket and they're not giving up on it yet, they're clearly looking for a stop gap.
-
I guess we'll find out in a few weeks, won't be anything imminent in that one. A loan for an experienced/decent level GK does make sense though, no commitment to buying a new number 1 and upsetting the Bazunu love-in. (We all know he's back starting for us next season, and the club won't want to change that by spending big on someone now...!)
-
I know people say fan opinions don't really matter to players, but as it was so tight/close between us, you do have to wonder if the reception he got there last season helped sway it our way. He even commented after that game at how annoyed he was by the booing.
-
Interesting that they chose both Lumley and Bazunu to model the GK kit, but McCarthy is nowhere to be seen. Maybe Bazunu isn't as far away as they first thought?
-
The one I was bothered about was KWP, but he was there. So no swap deals with West Ham for that one!
-
Yeah it was an absolutley horrendous 'activation', or whatever they want to call it. They'd have been better off just putting it up on the OS as pictures and just forget about any stupid event, you still couldn't get any idea from the stream as to how it looked as the lighting was shit. Pretty big waste of time really, that's an hour I'll never get back.
-
We did really well to get that over the line this soon, right in time for pretty much all of pre-season. I thought this would drag on, but I think Flynn equally pushed hard for this.
