  1. For sure. The players, coaches, managers - they'll rock up somewhere else. Fans though, what do they do? That's their town, their local club, who they've supported their lifetime. Even the workers who have worked in and around the ground their lives, at smaller clubs like Bury you get lifers doing the pitch, tickets, hospitality etc.
  2. Bury are gone - officially expelled from the EFL. Weird really, feels like it was only yesterday I was watching their promotion celebrations on SSN.
  3. Which makes it even odder that Brighton vans were booing Valery, for what they saw as semingly going ''OTT' and getting their player sent off. Football fans can be so dumb.
  4. I'd have feared for the rest of the season had we not won that, it was pretty much put on a plate for us with the red card and their disallowed goal. We didn't play great though, Brighton showed much more ambition and imagination on the ball. Their movement was quicker and much much sharper than ours. Ings is continuing to let games pass him by, Hoj was just terrible and setting an horrific standard for the rest. Bednerak looked iffy and clumsy, Vesterguard was Vesterguard (rubbish). Adams looked out of his depth today. Thought Danso looked like a fish out of water most of the game, but at least he put in a shift. Looks like he has some pace, but he does like to try stupid turns on the ball in silly positions. Will need to stamp that out. We won because the game became stretched and our introduction of pace opened it up, pretty much as simple as that. Play like that against teams with 11 men and we'd get beaten 9 times out of 10, we really weren't very good.
  5. Or maybe they just asked him to play a tiny bit of football whilst they got the contract sorted, then they realised he wasn't actually a footballer and quickly ducked out.
  6. Probably the best move he could have hoped for. Back on familiar ground, knows the club, the fans know him.... hopefully he can regain some confidence. He hasn't played properly for years, obviously he had that killer injury which probably derailed his career a lot. But he was successful at Celtic and a lot of clubs looked at him when he was there. I don't have any hard feelings against the guy, this is the perfect place for him to get back playing and hopefully earn a move on the back of it.
  7. Wanyama had his day with us, we had him during his best years which we can be greatful for. There's a reason he's heading to a lower quality and lower intensity league, He can't hack this level anymore.
  8. Chelsea have less quality up front than some of the teams in the bottom half this year. Shocking state of affairs for them.
  9. Another succesfull Ross Wilson signing.

    Che Adams

A different sort of centre forward than we've had in recent years, brings a new element to our game. Will be interesting to see him develop, he's got a lot of power and strength in him.
  11. It was a home defeat, yes, but not really a poor performance if you look at the 90 objectively.
  12. That was a bit frustrating really, as I felt we had a decent game plan which was working. We kept them at arm’s length for the first 45, had a few forays ourselves (although with nowhere near enough intent) but then as per last season, the year before that and the year before that, we lose concentration and focus in stoppage time. We should have got tighter to Mane and kept concentration but we didn’t and there you have it. Based on our approach and Liverpool’s sluggish display, there’s no way we should have gone in with anything other than 0-0 on that first half showing, but conceding late goals are the trademark of this group unfortunately. The 2nd half was a little huff and puff, Liverpool dominated the first part of it. Once they got the 2nd it felt like game over, absolute nightmare from Bedernek. Seriously, what is it with us gifting goals like this? Idiots. I did feel that Liverpool became very complacent 70 mins onwards though and we regained some ground. Good pressure from us and an absolute howler from Adrian. He's such a **** keeper, honestly. Then for the next 5 or so mins we pressed hard and had some decent moments, the direct running of Moussa helped us open the game towards the end without a doubt. Overall, it wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. It's another loss, it's another game with avoidable goals conceded - but our general game plan was there, the work ethic was there. I just don’t know how to stop this group conceding late goals at the end of halves, it's becoming a boring scenario. That may be more down to a lack of individual quality and character more than anything else though.
  13. I've got mine, but I know plenty of people who haven't got anything yet. Pretty rubbish really. I wonder what the reasons are.
  14. Lol yes, that's what I thought when I first glanced.
  15. I love this fella. Will be remembered for years to come as one of our 'cult' guys. Not the most amazingly talented player out there, but wears his heart on his sleeve and shows a real dedication to the cause.
  16. Lampard has a proper job on here, he was brave taking that. Hazard was their team, they've got nothing now.
  17. I did think the same with mine, but...it had fallen behind the little box thingy, and was floating around in the back. It does beg the question as to if all this packaging is necessary. Wouldn't it be cheaper to just send the season card in a normal envelope? What is the point of this box and packaging? There's nothing in it which wouldn't fit into a flaming envelope.
  18. Billy is the opposite to Charlie for me. He was a top guy to have around the place. At the time....it was probably the right call to let him move on when we were promoted. We already had Lambert, Guly and had signed Mayuka (yeah, amazing..!) and Jay. So, he wouldn't have seen much time. We were clearly aiming for a level slightly higher than Sharp. But he did his job and repaid the fee without question. Got no problems with him and he will always be part of my fond memories of that promotion winning team.
  19. Surely Hoedt will be the first of the CB's out of the door. But yeah, don't count your chickens with the recruitment strategy at this flaming club.
  20. Think we should just go for a back 10 to be honest.
  21. I know people will claim that we couldn't move much because of the players we had on the books already, but....why didn't we prioritise s a CB? Was Moussa really, really necessary as our first signing? He may turn out to be amazing, but you'd have thought the first priority would have been defence. To me, Moussa was maybe more of a nice to have. Bit weird really.
  22. Let's hope that this new GK coach can make an impact over the coming months, as yes, it does seem to me that we've made every goalkeeper we purchased a lot worse over time. Picking up bad habbits, poor positional sense. Not technical parts of the game as such, more parts which would have been influenced by coaching. Step forward Dave Watson.
  23. The problem is that it's not isolated, it's not just the first game of the season. The errors and issues are exactly the same we've seen over the last 2 /3 seasons. Mainly because the personal is largely the same. I'm sure Ralph will improve it, he's a magician in that sense. But I don't think it's fair to just isolate this game as the first game of the season, when the performance and frailties we witnessed were exactly the same as we've seen for many a year. Nothing has changed because it's the same failing bunch.
  24. I don't think you can say we looked decent when we lost 3-0 to Burnley. That doesn't equate. We were even in the first half, maybe shaded a tiny bit. But we still lost 3-0 and that isn't decent by any means. I don't care if we had any decent passages of play, or we looked good at 35 mins. We still lost 3-0, to flaming Burnley.
  25. Lol, we were absolutley disgusting to watch today. Fair play.
