  1. We could have a really potent side with Redmond one side and him on the other, he looks so strong, powerful and quick. Polar opposites to the players we've looked at in previous years. He looks pretty tall a well, 5ft 8 for a winger is a good fit for this league to be be fair.
  2. Little bit dramatic!
  3. Yeah, Ralph knows all about him so I will trust his opinion on Lookman. Everton just have too many players and spent too much, they have a very lopsided squad. Lookman is actually a really good talent, just can't get any consistancy in a very overcrowded Everton squad.
  4. I ummed and erred for a good few weeks, but I did renew yesterday. The main reason is probably because of Ralph and that bit of positivity and higher expectation he brings. I can't see him standing for rubbish and I'm sure he believes he will be backed. The main issue will be who we can shift and how many of them to open the gap in finances, but I'd hope even without doing that there is a budget to make improvements. He's pretty clear in what he wants and I think for the first time in years we are building with an identity, and not just the theme of 'passing the football' - so hopefully, our recruitment will be based around players who will suit the high press and high energy approach and not just signed because they can 'pass the football.' Overall the value, compared to the match by match ticket prices, is pretty good this year.
  5. It kinda reminds me of the home kit we had in the Championship when we came 6th (Wolves 6-1 etc). Maybe not the neck black, but I'm sure we had red and white and black panels somewhere.
  6. Christ, if that's the quality they have to offer, then no idea where they're going. You could see the quality in L1 squads such as ours, Norwich, Huddersfield etc - but this was just empty of any ability, same for Sunderland. Struggle next year for them after this I reckon. Utterly dreadful team, although it would have been quite funny to see them get raped in the Championship. More years in the wilderness for them. Quite funny.
  7. When you've got someone like Ross calling the transfer shots, I'd prefer the kitman to make the calls. If Ralph wants to recommend, then he can do what he wants. It will be better.

Ah good old Kirk and his friend. Out of interest, are you content and happy with what's going on? I just feel slightly uneasy about shelling my money into what potentially looks like becoming some sort of financial vehicle. It’s all shady and has been since we first heard about the ‘potential’ takeover.

I'm with the people who are asking questions here. We have an owner who has never said a thing, we have no idea what his intentions are. We now have a new shirt sponsor, supposedly the biggest sponsorship in our history, by a company who is from China, yet to exist, and has links to Gao. It absolutely reeks and stinks and I hate it, I’ve hated Gao being in charge from the day it was announced as it stunk even whilst they were negotiating. This has probably made my mind up about renewal to be honest.
  10. squad player at best that season, when he started it was because we were depleted and had a few injuries. He's a player who isn't suited to this league.
  11. Oh for goodness sake. Here is another, Barnes is out. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11741/11719010/john-barnes-thinks-brighton-were-wrong-to-fire-chris-hughton
  12. I'm just waiting for Paul Ince and Sol Campbel to pipe up now.

    SportPesa?
  14. Look at the clubs in mid-table though. Palace, Watford, West Ham, Everton - unfortuntley they are now ahead of us squad and ability wise. You may catch them on the off day, but generally they have better players than us. We do require an overhaul to pull back towards those sides. We need power power and pace up top, more power and pace out wide, more mobility and pace at the back and a lot more depth at RB and CB.

I don't think the club could ever do anything bad in your eyes, even if they changed the kit to blue and renamed our stadium the Solent arena.

    It's a Chinese firm.
  19. Agree with most of what you say above, we do need some big surgery. Sadly, it will mainly depend on who we can shift as Gao will have no intention of putting finances in for us, or releasing the wage bill - so we will have to generate it. I think Clasie will end up going on a minimal deal, couple of mill. However, the likes of Ely, Hoedt, Cedric, Carillo, Forster, Boufal, Stephens, Austin will be where our headaches are I think. It's not so much the fees they will bring in, it's the wages they consume at the moment. So as much as I'm excited by what Ralph can do, I'm also prepared for him to start becoming very frustrated when it's evident he really won't be able to do what he needs to do with us. I have no faith in the ownership or scouting and recruitment at this club.
  20. Not really surprised, it's all gone a bit stale there for him. They don't have an amazing squad though, so it will be interesting to see who they can attract.
  21. I want to like him, but he's really poor in my eyes. Not so much at the start of the season, but what he's turned into is utter dross. If I could, I'd say thanks and send him back to Liverpool this morning.
  22. To the one person who is saying the jury is out on Ralph - I think your view on our squad is misguided. We are a relegation squad, we really were primed to go down this year as the squad doesn't have enough quality. What he has done is amazing.
  23. Oh I agree with Pogba without question, he thinks he's better than he is. His 'Brand' is bigger than his footballing ability. He'd probaby still get in at Madrid though, or somewhere like that. I'd see If i could throw that awful CB Jones in as well, but they've just offered him a new 4 year deal so that won't be happening. More crazy goal-faces for years to come.
  24. Is anyone else really confused as to why Utd appointed Ole? Who are the idiots running that club these days? Clearly their eyes were made wide by his ''good run'' when he was caretaker, but anyone could tell he was never the right calibre to take over there. It's quite embarrassing really, a club the size of Utd being managed by a novice who failed at Cardiff himself. That club is in a right mess, not sure what the way out for them is. Must kill them watching City lap it up! (and Liverpool to some degree) Good to see them suffer a bit...but yeah, it’s weird to see a club of that huge size turn into an also-ran.
  25. We were ok against City last year, until 90+1 mins. Although the last game, against Stoke, in Puel's season was probably worse. This is still up there though, need a big clear out of all the rubbish we've acumulated.
