Exactly the same that happened to Monaco a few years ago. God help any team who upsets the 'apple cart'. You have to wonder if it's worth it, just for a year or two of excitement.
-
Brighton look ****ed. Really tough away game next at Wolves, and then away at Spurs. Cardiff look pretty **** too, but this was a big win. Keeps it going to the end between those two, quite exciting.

I think it got off somewhat 'lightly'. Structure still, in the main, completely intact. A lot of the key monuments and tributes inside are being rescued and have been accounted for, the glass looks to have survived on both sides. No one inside or around was injured or hurt during the episode. Obviously the roof will need to be re-done and the spire will be rebuilt, but it could have been a lot worse. I think I've heard some rich French people are donating around 400m euro to a restoration fund. Hopefully they approach a new contractor and don't use the one who had been restoring the roof recently...

Yeah, we weren't actually managed by Ronald that day either - he was still in hospital with his broken ankle (i think). So Ewin took control on the sidelines. It was 2-2, but we really should have won that. I remember Mane missing some absolute nightmare chances at the end.

I can't believe people still take this guy seriously! Easily the worst WUM ever.
-
No chance we'd be in with a shout on Timo. He will go to a top CL level club.

Between 30-40m without much of an issue I'd have thought, that would be the going rate. As has been said, there is no sense with transfer fee's anymore. 30m would have given you a Rio or a Ronaldo back in the day, but 30m is now just an average/proven PL player price. If you want a player of the level of Rio or Rooney or Ronaldo these days, you're looking at nearing £200m. So in this day and age 30-40m is a snip.

Watford looks excellent to be honest. Very dynamic in attack and through the middle.

He spoke so much waffle, so I'm incredibly happy we no longer have to hear the phrases 'First team roster' 'Deep roster' 'Soccer' again. His phrases and what he said always annoyed me, he was nothing more than a public mouth piece and a PR puppet. Will be interesting to see what happens next and if there is a reshuffle or new appointments made. I'll be honest, the ownership situation is still one of real worry for me. I'm not comfortable with it at all.

Redmond, most improved player. First half of the season he was our most impressive, in a shower of ****, and the 2nd half he's gone up another notch.
-
We should just cut our losses to be honest, free transfer job. Mark it as a big red x on our history and move on. Diabolical player, absolutely horrific character. I don't want him anywhere near this squad in pre-season bringing the place down with his ****ness.
-
He's an old school manager. Sticks 11 out on the pitch and pretty much leaves it up to them to sort it out amongst themselves. When you have good characters, it can work, but when you've got the likes of Cedric, Boufal and Hoedt moping around the place then it won't work.
-
I dunno if he's worth persevering with to be honest. It's got a smell of Gaston all over it ''Give him a full pre-season'' ''Will be good to see what manger x can get out of him'' etc. Ralph has a good eye for players not up for it - Cedric, Hoedt, Gabbiadini, Lemina. Could get some decent ££ in the summer for him, maybe we should just take it.
-
He's certainly no Eric Black.
-
Is anyone surprised that the starter of this thread is saintlard though? Lost all meaning when he started it. I mean, he still thinks Adkins failed and was one of our worst ever managers.
-
Just Brighton and Cardiff now, although it will be Cardiff. They don't have enough and never have.

Could we finish in the top half of the table?!
S-Clarke replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
Nah, we'll probably finish somewhere between 14th-16th. Highest I think you'll see us is 14th. -
Really good day, thought we reacted so well to that set back - something we didn't do previously under previous mangers, how often would you have seen us wilt after going 1-1? Thought Ings as excellent as a centre forward, set the tone of the attack and was very inteligent in his use of the ball and the runs he was making. He deserved a goal to be honest! Redmond sharp and clinical, he's been pretty much spot on this season compared to last. One of the bright spots even in the first half of the season. I was a bit nervous, I didn't know what to expect from Wolves but at the same time I was also hoping we'd have enough to get over the line in this one - and we did! That pretty much nails it for this season, just between Brighton and Cardiff now - although I think everyone and their dog knows that Cardiff are as good as down and have been so since they came up, to be honest. Onto the next one - but I'm seriously excited to see what Ralph can build here, we look a top half side under him, and that's without any transfers.
-
Surely no one will be hoping for anything other than a Burnley win here? Burnley are safe now, so any defeat here for Cardiff kills them and in effect keeps the rest of us up.
-
He should just retire to be honest. Pointless trying for a career in football if he can't play it.
-
They'll still have to finish 6th, 7th to get EL. Only the winners of the FA Cup get a european place nowdays, if that's Man City that win it - they don't need it, so a Europa League place goes to 7th.
-
Got a feeling Wolves are just slowing down a tad, had a good season without doubt. Need to keep on moving forward in the summer or they could fall backwards quite quickly. Certainly one we can and should be winning at home. But to be fair, even a draw isn't to be sniffed at.

There were a row of about 6 Liverpool fans in the kingsland, couldn't kepe their mouths shut when they scored. Almost kicked off, but didn't. It's always the same in these games, littered with fans who can't get tickets in the away end because they don't come from Liverpool or Utd or London etc.
-
I think the reality was that we were always going to lose, they are just too good for the squad we have. But, we lost in the right way in the sense that we gave them a game, we gave them a fright and didn't make it easy at all. We are working so much harder under Ralph, that's evident to see. Our shape is better and we are more organised on the pitch. Quality wise, he can only work with what he's got and there are still glaring holes in the team which need fixing if we want to continue moving in the right direction. I like Bednerak and Vesterguard has grown into the side, but I think we need someone else with a bit of power and pace through the middle of the 3. Valery is good, but raw. Defends well, but doesn't offer much of an outlet in an attacking sense. I think we will still look to add a new RB in the summer, well I hope so at least. Need some power and presence up top, and I think we could give most teams a game. Ralph knows what he's doing and I'm pretty confident he knows what he needs. Roll on next season.

Yeah Gabbi has gone, £14m I think we got. Covers most of the fee we have to pay out for Ings in the summer, this is an obligation to buy deal, not an option to buy.
