  1. He had a bit of a hot head most of that first half. He's been 'ok' for us, but has still got a lot to learn. He played like the young guy he is on Saturday.
  2. To be fair Puel did get a song from Romeu, but no one else really. Leicester just feels like us under him. I don't think you'd get relegated under Puel (as long as you kept a strong enough squad) as his setups usually make teams hard to beat. But it was just boring and never going anywhere and I think that's what Leicester will start to feel.
  3. He won't be going at the end of the season.
  4. Massive respect for Redmond, agree that he's been like this all season - not just since Ralph. Much more direct, lots more confidence, seems to have more upper body strength and can beat players a lot easier. A great outlet for us - we just need someone similar to him out wide side so we can really, really stretch sides.
  5. It was a bit of a backs against the wall job at times, but this for me was an example of Romeu back to his damn best. Why on earth had he been frozen out? Same goes for Bedanrek - i mean he's not the fastest or most graceful of centre backs, but he defends...first and foremost, he's like a brick wall at times! It's results such as this, more than the one against Arsenal, which kind of remove the worry for me this year. It looks a bit squeeky at the moment but I just can't see anything bad happening with the coaching setup we have now. He's an epic manager, seriously.
  6. It's also not a loan, it's a full sale. So the money is in the bank...
  7. It really is quite criminal that we recieved a world record fee 12 months ago (75m) and this window are having to resort to scratching up change to make any signings. Mismanagement of the highest order. and an owner without a pot to **** in and no interest either.
  8. God, we have a manager who has seen him for what he is! Absolute garbage. Phew.
  9. 19m is a hell of a lot of money for an unproven player like Solanke. He's made less than 50 apps in his entire career ffs.
  10. I wonder what's happened to Clyne for him to be wanted by the likes of Cardiff and Bournemouth? I thought we'd be all over that, given our need for pace and a RB. Must be something else going on there as I'd have expected other clubs to be interested as well.
  11. I would have thought that's your default stance.
  12. I think the manager is generally having a look at the squad, plus I believe McCarthy took a bit of a knock against City - he got up and carried on, but I'm not sure he was 100%.
  13. Very good fighting performance. I know we've dropped back in tonight, and are slightly adrift now, but I'm not that worried. We seem to have a manager who 'gets it' tactically and is able to clearly instruct what he wants the teams to achieve. I saw people moaning about our lack of attacking, but we have to remember we have an attack with absolutely zero pace generally - so getting out when you are being out passed is very, very difficult. It's an absolute priority we add some legs and pace to the final third this month. It's been an encouraging month though, disappointing against West Ham but we were due one of those. Looking at getting some good points in the next run of fixtures, if we play as we have been then that will come.
  14. Bit stupid, but what a pointless nanny-state we live in now days. Can't have banter with anyone or anything at the risk of it offending someone.
  15. He's a steady defender, I don't see him as a wing back type as he's not particularly quick and his attacking instincts aren't really there (so not sure he’s a long term fit for us). As a defender though, a pure RB, he seems like he's got a decent future.

    Steven Davis

He will always be remembered fondly here. Top pro, was a terrific player for us in the Koeman seasons (and MP as well tbf). Scored our second goal on our return to the PL to give us the lead against City, and was generally solid and sound in his years here - a key cog in our progress. Obviously age has caught up with him a little bit now and he deserves a final swansong where he wants it to be.
  17. I'm staggered at how the previous 3 managers (Hughes, Pellegrino and Puel) found the squad OK in terms of pace and squad size. It's just become too bloated with average. It hasn't taken Ralph long to realise that we need pace and we need to trim the squad a bit, that's been needed for 3 damn seasons now. What a difference it makes having an actual manager who sees the game how he wants to see it, and isn't trying to play along with a club philosophy of passing football. (Which means nothing)
  18. Personally, in my view, the limitations in the creative department is all down to a lack of pace. That's our huge issue up top and has been for ages. Bringing Gallagher in isn't going to change much. The ball is lumped forward as there is no one quick enough to make runs in behind or down the channels, so it becomes a bit of a hit and hope from the CB's as the final third is so condensed. I personally think players like Armstrong and Hojbjerg would really appreciate some pace in the final third, so many times on Sunday they looked up and everything was condensed as we had no pace, so they had to go backwards…then the CB would just hit it and hope. Pace is an urgent, urgent requirement throughout our side. I think Ralf thinks that too.
  19. Didn't really happen for him at Marseille, never seemed to hold down a place. Didn't have a huge amount of game time at Lorient before that either, but granted he was young then. He's struggled to hold down a place at any of his clubs so far.
  20. He'd look good in space as I think he has good vision, but as a winger when he's up against full backs he's just pointless. No pace or strength. Needs time and space on the ball in the number 10 position. I doubt he'll get that in the PL though, so I can imagine he'll be shifted off soon.
  21. I think we're starting to see why he's fallen flat at so many clubs. Attribute wise he has plenty, good skill, power, pace. His application is absolutely shocking though and I think that's in his makeup.
  22. This is what you get with Hoj, he fits a high pressing system very well...but I've always seen him as quite an ill-disciplined player. Got a lot to learn in that respect.
  23. Decent tactical managers will always like players such as JWP and Hojbjerg. They're clever, tactically aware, can do multiple jobs. They need to be complimented by power and runners though.
  24. He's seemingly sussed out Cedric and Hoedt in the first month or so he's been here, so that's a huge positive to me. Two of our most unlikable players ever.
  25. They were way better than us last night, we looked confused and tired. Both full backs for us were absolute garbage, it has to be said. Lemina was Lemina, you think he's decent and then he does that. Redmond just ran into dead ends all night and we weren't able to stretch them. Good honest assessment from RH at the end though, that's why I feel confident that these displays will become few and far between over time.
