  1. Seems to have all stemmed from the Real Madrid rumours for me, he looked 100% set to join and then it didn't happen. He's gone backwards since then, errors at first which were covered up as rarity's are now following a consistent pattern of basic technical errors. If I were Man Utd, take £20-30m on him, service a portion of his wages for the next couple of years, and get a new goal keeper or use Henderson.
  2. If they want to spend £15m then I'll drive him there. Such a shame we decided to block that up to 26m deal in January, that would have been hilarious. But even with 15m, we're not making a huge loss on him. Take it and run!
  3. Do you know if the club are actively looking at goal keeping options? There has been talk that Fraser is coming back and is going to fight for his place here.
  4. If he has any decency he'll agree to a mutual termination of his contract for free, as he's probably by now recognised that he cannot play football.
  5. On VAR, I know it's raised it's questions this season and there aren't universal fans - it annoys me in many ways, but the goal it intervened in today is exactly what it's there for. That was a potentially huge goal at the bottom of the league, could have cost Watford or Villa millions if it came down to a point. It was a shit miss by the lino first off, but this is what VAR is for - clear and obvious errors and removing huge game changing/season defining official errors such as that. Bournemouth will be sick, but the game will be much fairer if VAR is used like this.
  6. Bournemouth at home, funnily enough. Last kick of the game, he decides to confuse Bednarek and lets Wilson score in an open goal.
  7. Yeah, wtf is that about? He's a knob, but he has literally picked them up from being dead and buried to being in the driving seat to stay up. What is with their owners? Good, strong season under Javi Gracia....struggling start, so they sack him by September. Then they bring in the the previous manager who they'd sacked a year or so before, and he lasted about 2 months before they dumped him. If i'm honest, I hope they go down because how they run that club is not a way to run a football club.
  8. I haven't really paid much attention to La Liga this season, but Espanyol finished bottom of the league and were relegated? Jesus. What on earth happened there. They finished 7th last year and top of their Europa League group...! Crazy. Marc Roca is a very decent CM fwiw.
  9. Yes, exactly. He seems to dither in his head way too much, he's very reactive rather than proactive in his positioning and given that he has no pace then he can't really react most of the time, this is a constant from him. On the ball, and off the ball.
  10. To be honest, given his height, I'd expect him to win most in the air by default. He did still lose a few headers though. On the ball and positionally he wasn't great, as per. He doesn't react to danger quick enough for me, seems like 3 yards behind the game in his head all the time - and it doesn't help that he has no pace to recover with either!
  11. If they've got doubts and won't pay the upwards of £75m, then they're welcome to go and shop elsewhere!
  12. Redmond very frustrating to be honest. He's always hesitated in terms of taking players on, it's a part of his game he's never really been able to shake off. Not entirely sure why. His passing has been dreadful too, and let's not talk about his finishing. He does have good ability on the ball and his pace helps us up the pitch and causes a threat, 100%, but he really needs to improve the final key elements of his game otherwise we will be forced to look elsewhere.
  13. Take his goals out of those games, likelihood of anyone else scoring is low. So, yes, we'd be almost relegated without his goals.
  14. It's good to see Adams start to make the most of his opportunities on the pitch, I'm not sure why it's taken him so long to settle? He's still raw in certain area's and certainly needs to improve technical area's of his game. I'd loan out Obafemi and bring in another striker to complement both Ings and Adams.
  15. Without his goals, as of today, we'd be sat on 32 points. Says it all really.
  16. Looked ok, not as fluid as previous games but we still should have made it more comfortable than it was. Bournemouth didn't seem to have any real idea on how to play, it was a mixture of long balls up to small centre forwards/wingers, or passing into the box only to lose it. A very confused performance from Bournemouth, but we did keep them at arms length really. Most of Bournemouth's opportunities came from the inside left, which is Vestergaards's area - he was dreadful once again. KWP though, he has changed the dynamic of this team on the right side so much. He has so much energy, so much pace and belief. He's still raw in certain area's of his game, which is why I'd have question marks if the price is too high on him. Overall, a pretty standard premier league win over a very, very confused and poor side.
  17. 20 goal English striker in his prime, but he's also a fantastic defensive forward for high pressing teams. Priceless really, but I'd probably listen at around £90-100m. If Lukaku cost £90m, then he costs the same.
  18. For sure, I get that. I don't think people are saying he's a like for like, but people are seeing similarities in his style of play I think. I see potential too, he's got a lot of growth in his game that a good coach could mould, but how much money I'd be prepared to shell out is questionable. It's a tricky call and one we'll have to trust Ralph with!
  19. I've always seen him as part of the problem, Redmond as well, to a certain extent. Both very risk averse players, but at least Redmond has changed it up a little in the last 18 months - but the last few weeks he has reverted to type unfortunately. Hoj is a safe player, he'd rather keep the ball going backwards than take a risk with an incisive pass. In my eyes he is certainly one of the main reasons, if not the main reason, why we've failed to win games at home over the last 3 years. Anyway, for me the best stories from this season - - Ings - Armstrong (Really like him) - JWP (he's come onto a different level IMO) - Bednerak (one of the better CB's in the league, IMO - partner him with some pace and power and we'll be laughing). Horror stories - - Gunn (I thought he'd be a good signing, highly rated - but he's been a disaster) - Adams (He's got good attributes, but a return of 1 goal isn't really good enough when he scored 22 last year) - Valery (Hopelessly out of his depth IMO).
  20. I think he has the same style of play on the ball, that's why I've likened him to Clyne. Similar height too, similarly agile. But of course, it's a racist comparison. Can anyone say anything in this world anymore? Or do we all lock ourselves away, avoid saying what we want in fear of outright outrage?
  21. The guy is like a machine, he never seems to struggle with fitness. Is he actually human??
  22. He's a ball winning midfielder, but when he does win the ball it's either a sideways or backwards pass - or he'll give it away. He's an obvious 'leader' because he shouts and waves his arms about a lot, very vocal, but sometimes it's best to let the football do the talking and that's not something he's really been too good at. I'd say he's mobile, but not quick - pretty slow really, but he does cover the ground to win the ball back (after he's given it away). To me, I look at him and he's like a poor man's Schneiderlin - obviously you have experience of Schneiderlin too, so think of him but someone with less presence on the pitch and less 'technical' ability on the ball. All in all, a bog standard average central midfield player. Mid-table PL football is probably his level, but he seems to think he's deserving of more which I've never really quite understood. Truth be told, I won't miss him. I like powerful, mobile, incisive central midfielders who do the talking through their football - and he's certainly not that type of player. Good luck with him if you get him, but he's not really a huge upgrade on what you have.
  23. How shit are Burnley by the way? Really can't quite understand how they are where they are in the table, they have no real quality in that side. Norwich have better individual players, I guess with Burnley it's the mix and the team spirit they have which is why they are there, they haven't got to where they are through quality. Some may argue, but when Eric Peiter's and Phil Bardsley start for you in the Premier League, it's safe to say they've overachieved somehow.
  24. Interesting comments from Ralph too - "Every player has his own story for why we want to win against this club,” Hasenhuttl said.
