  1. I don't know if I can feel for them anymore though to be honest. This is just a recurring theme now, never score, get 'unlucky', and lose. 3 seasons. 5 wins out of what, 48 games? Yeah, these players are just losers. Ingrained losers.
  2. Southampton nill.

I agree with all of that. The one game which stands out to me is the Cup Final, the winning goal...
  4. They've got the Leeds EFL game on tonight.
  5. But even a short-term move could be hugely damaging to the positive repuation he's built up. He'd be better off staying up there and then jumping on the merry-go-round in the summer. He'd have better options than us then.
  6. Given the money we'd also have to pay Hughes, you're right - we're only going to either stick, or if we sack it will only be a case of bringing in a freebie or someone from within. That's how I see it. What is better in that scenario...? This is why the shouts for a change of manager may not actually give people what they want.
  7. He'd be absolutely crazy to move. He's got a decent side at Celtic, more silverware on the way this year, good reputation. Potentially he'd end up in the Championship. We'd be career suicide for anyone right now, and anyone decent will know it.

I think most of them are incapable of doing much more, they're just average and full of flaws. No one will be able to improve Hoedt, he's just Hoedt.

Our squad is absolute ****, that is the fundamental issue right here.

    Cedric

And there lies the problem....! What a sad state of affairs...
  11. I don't quite understand what's up with him. I watched him for Basel and he looked a threat, not quick, but good movement and a good touch. He looks like a pub player for us. I'm willing to give him a chance in a more confident side, as surely there has to be something there.....he looked good for years with Basel in the top level of european comp...
  12. He's finished at this level, those stats just back that up.

To get her out of her own personal hole, at the time.
  14. Yeah, that's fair. We don't deserve any of this crap, we keep paying the money....yet they keep squandering it.
  15. Deservedly joint bottom as it stands.

Maybe they've improved a bit, but he's still average as hell and has been a key part of this truly awful saints team for 3 years now.

No one is saying that it will be easy and it will all be achieved within the first year, there could well be a few years of dossing around down there before we can shed them and start again. The fact remains that a relegation for us is brewing, I'm personally keen for it to happen sooner rather than later so that 'process' can start. The more we stagger over the line at this level the more damage it is doing long-term, as we will never get the cull we require.
  18. Kelvin Davis.
  19. That's a problem - most of the 'nation' have no idea what this clown is capable of, so he gets an easy ride. He'll probably ****ing win it. I notice he mentioned the teams he managed the other day, not a single mention for us, QPR or Birmingham though. Just excluded from memory. All about Tottenham, getting the skates promoted, West Ham etc etc. Detest him.

True, but some of our lads have quite high impressions of themselves - seem to think they're top 4 players, so i can see more moving on that people expect because they see themselves as ''too good' for the lower leagues.

With a rebuild, it's more a case of getting rid of the crap we've accumulated. Then bringing in players who are a better fit, and most a lot cheaper. Look at the team we had last time. Chaplow, Hammond, Morgan, Lambert, Fonte, Jos, Fox, Richardson, Lallana, Cork. Couple of homegrowners, but a mix of players who knitted together very well. No more Cedric, or Hojbjerg, Hoedt, Redmond - win win already.
  22. Would expect to see Vesterguarrd at the back, with maybe Stephens? Worth a try with that pair to see how immobile that can be for us. I'd say we can put someine else in at RB, but we don't have another one. Unless we move Targett there and bring Bertrand back. Romeu needs a go in midfield, then maybe Obafemi from the start. Bit of pace, which we don't have anywhere right now. Losing to Puel again will just be rubbing salt though.

Those connections being big managers such as Koeman... But yeah, we've got ourselves into such a state now. It pains me to say but a relegation is the only way to fix it. It's gone on too far and we've broken it too much for it to be fixed at this level. We need to drop, rebuild, get a connection back and then come back up with a 'team'. Can't see that happening when we have disconnected owners though. Sad times in our history right now.
  24. Fonte was huge for us, full stop. He was a proper leader first and foremost, he got the club and had a connection with the fans. You felt everything he did was in the interests of the team, not individually. He took new players under his wing and integrated them into the culture of the ‘team’. The relationship obviously soured, but how much of that was a bit of clever club manipulation to make him look like the bad guy? At the end of the day, we sold him because we saw the £££. Then we didn't replace him. That's where our major problems started and when we began to see the huge disconnect between the first team and the fans.
  25. It's painful to see, but he is becoming the nations favourite isn't he. What a season this is turning out to be.
