You'd think he was our best player going by all this clamour. He's not. Ings, JWP, Bertrand all much more influential and better than him in our side. I imagine the club don't want this to drag on, but Levy being Levy will ensure he drives the hard bargain.
-
Sounds like there is a genuine interest in him, but if it happens is a bit uncertain.
-
Not another 'Boufal can come good' theme! He can't, he's not suited to this league full stop. Should never have bought him, I expect he'll return to a league with much slower pace.

It was pretty solid yesterday, it's been unusable today though.

The Sunday Times - Southampton put up for sale at £250m
S-Clarke replied to The Odd Guy's topic in The Saints
Now who is going to buy Coutinho and Hulk?? They were all set to be the next Man City! Never mind....Mike Ashley actually keeps the £17m deposit they made as well, so he's financially laughing whilst the club will continue to languish. -
Chelsea were sniffing as well at the time, not sure if they still are. Their priority at the mo seems to be a new number 1 and Forster is certainly not going to be that!
-
West ham want to buy everyone, but then end up buying no one - or last ditch efforts to appease fans.
-
Send him to Portsmouth, although he'd struggle at that level too I imagine. We certainly didn't 'study' the 'personality' of this guy when we signed him did we? Another Ross special.
-
He's 36?? Jeez. That pretty much rules us out of that one! Let everton sweep up these hasbeens.

The logic is a bit flawed there. Just because they've formed a good partnership doesn't mean that we need to stop looking at ways to improve that area. You're also massively overrating them. Massively. You then say that improving the quality of competition is important? So you agree this is a good signing then?? In the summer we will have just Stephens and Bednerak - that's not enough. Vestergaard will go, Danso will return to his parent club, Yoshida has left on a free. Signing a CB for me is number 1 priority, right back next. Whilst Stephens and Bednerak have performed well our backline lacks pace. Spending £10m on a top league centre back, who has a very high reputation, is one of the most sensible signings this club has made in a long time. Whislt he may not start straight away, there is a player there who can grow into the squad. This is how you improve a team and keep moving forwards. Sometimes 'good guys' who you liked and did a good job will be left behind as the club moves forward, but that's just part of football.

Does anyone really take any notice of his opinion on anything football related? He's clueless.
-
To be fair, you only need to watch some of the closing montages on Sky and BBC to realise we are a non-club to these broadcasters. Didn't see any highlights or clips of us at all, apart from the (0-9 scoreboard).
-
Yeah it seems to struggle a lot with performance compared to the old one, either slow downs or complete loss of access is quite frequent.

https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/16403799.james-ward-prowse-watford-reportedly-make-10-million-bid-for-southampton-midfielder/ to add some context to that! And yes, we almost let Hughes sell him. Thank goodness we didn't. Shows how completely out of touch that old fool is with football.

Interestingly Martin Semmens has suggested that he expects fans to be in the ground on the first game of the season, but he's not sure how many yet or how it will pan out.

I'd say it's luck that Sheffield United goal didn't stand, so yes, they were lucky in the end.
-
Very positive - he runs games for us at this level now days. Crucial to all aspects of our play.

Really positive second half after a very laboured 1st. We attacked with more purpose and used the width much better, Redmond had a great 2nd half and was causing them all sorts of problems. We pressed higher and engaged with more purpose, and that helped us against an opponent who was tiring quite a lot. One big factor of our return has been our fitness - I cannot remember seeing a fitter team from this return? We get stronger as the game goes on and the opponents tire out, it's been very telling in pretty much every game we've played. Now a pre-season with some genuine optimism behind it, some genuine momentum to carry in - there's a shorter break too, so the fitness levels shouldn't drop a great deal.
-
But arguably the way to get around this sort of setup is by stretching the game and getting in behind, so I'd keep Redmond exactly where he is. Not seen enough from Adams so far, needs to be more clever with his movement and offer us more of an outlet. This is why I believe we need more flank players, as it's pretty much just Redmond and Moussa when he's fit.

Another typical Home performance so far, one element of our game which still really, really worries me. Our inability to break teams down with banks of 4. Our game is made on the counter press, yet you cant' do that in these games. Really difficult half, not much to shout about. Get Vesterguard out of this team though.

Why is everyone mentioning a pre-match signing? When is that ever done really? I can only remember it once, Rudi Skacel - cringy pre-match physically signing on the pitch as well. I imagine the Salisu one will be announced early next week tbh.

All the Sky Sports channels are a simulcast of the main output until 5mins before KO of the respective games they cover.
-
Let's hope so! Or it's at least close.

Doesn't sound like that guy is one for now, long-term youth team addition by the sounds of it.
