Not sure how Rose is ahead of him in any way. He only played 10 games this season.
-
He's just in the prelim. squad I think. Don't expect him to be included in the final, but I may be wrong...
-
At least we won't have to worry about any of our players being 'chatted up' over the summer, plus most of our players get the summer off. Not bothered so few of our players will be there. I think we'll probably only end up with Yoshida, Cedric and Tadic there.
-
That midfield is absolutley horrific. When you think we went to the last world cup with Lampard, Gerrard, Wiltshire, Barkley. Now we have Henderson, Dier and Loftus-Cheek. Amazeballs.
-
You spend too much time worrying about stuff which isn't ever going to happen.
-
I'm surprised people still mention him. He's a rubbish football player. He doesn't have anything other than being able to run fast, that hasn't changed and probably won't change. That's why he's in the NPC.
-
Given the track record of the last two summers then yes, it would be inviting trouble.
-
They kept those awards quiet. Kat, Gao, Les and Ralph all there by the looks of it. Mccarthy player of the season, Gabbiadni goal of the season, Hojbjerg Kat's 'choice' award, or whatever it is.

Not sure I could have coped with that.......

I think Charlie will score bags of goals in the right setup, but you need him in the box. What you need around him to make up for his lack of mobility are runners, pace and power. And I'm not suggesting Long is the answer for that either. He looks poor when he's isolated on his own and is running onto balls, that's not his game, never has been and never will be. He'll put in a good shift as that's what he does, but really you need to get him in the 6 yard box, get him to stay there and have quality in and around him to supply the ball.
-
36-38 points is pretty much the norm you need to aim for if you want to stay up.

The only slight concern I have over Hughes is his transfer record. Obviously, his recent record at Stoke was awful, lots of highly paid, expensive additions in the likes of Imbula, Saido, Jese etc. Then you've got his stint at QPR where he signed expensive dross like Cesar, Boswinga, Granero, Fabio. Not too sure how much input he had, as QPR was clearly a basket case at the time he was there. I’d say the jury is certainly out though...
-
Just a note on Cedric, he has two years left - he signed a new one when Puel was here, so it expires in 2020. Still, two years left is around the sort of time you start to think what you do with him...
-
Nathan Byrne? Not sure, think we need to be aiming higher personally. Vallery is supposed to be decent....maybe he can become our backup.
-
Thought he would be a good addition for us when we got him, but he really isn't great. Talks well though, which is enough for some.
-
He's earned a longer deal for me. I think he's been here enough time to asses the squad, he knows what we have, what we won't have and what we need. It would be pretty dumb to ditch him now and get someone else who would have to asses the squad all over again. I think he wants an answer pretty quickly, but going by the way the club ****ed around with Puel then I'm not holding my breath.

That last-min goal summed up our season. So many times we've lapsed in the final seconds of halves, just unprofessional really and a genuine lack of quality and leadership at the back. It was 1 long ball which bounced. Horrific defending by Stephens who really hasn't pushed on, good on the ball, but very poor at his actual job. Need some major surgery on that back 4 this summer, without question. Pace/Power for sure, but leaders...people who will shout and organise, there's not really any of that back there. We certainly look better coached over the last few weeks, players seem to have an idea of their roles and what the team is trying to do - so that's a positive. It looks to me as if Hughes has come in and thought he'd go for it at WHU, then realised we simply don't have the defensive players to do that - so we dropped off and started to play more on the break (more niggly/aggressive attitude from the players to win 50/50's etc). Sometimes it's the basics like that which get you over the line in games. But overall this is a key summer. I don't want to hear any back patting ******** about how well run we are or how our ''cheapies' got us over the line. We need action. We need top centre backs through the door, top replacements for anyone we sell (i.e Ryan). This wasn't a great escape, it was a ****ing lucky escape. Too many people at all levels have taken their eyes off the ball, so I think it's only fair that as fans we now start to get some answers on our future - what are the new owners about? What are their plans? If i'm honest, I couldn't give a flying **** about how many academies they open in China, that doesn't interest me. I want to know what they'll do to improve the team in the country they are in.
-
Rabbit caught in headlights. I have no idea what his plan was and I don't think the players knew either. Nice guy, but he made everything too complicated than it needed to be.
-
He sucks the life out of clubs. When he's sacked by Leicester in a few weeks lots of people will say ''Oh, but he got them top 10, what more do they want?''. We limped to 8th last year, maybe not even limped..crawled. Somehow we got 8th. With the players he has avaliable at Leicester he should be doing better. I feel sorry for their fans who have to put up with his non-chat and sleepy football. The fact is that we made two horrific appointments in a row in Puel and MP. Neither had anything good about them, just killers of football.
-
Eh? They need 3 points for 100 points, they already have 105 goals.
-
Man City better watch out.

Relegated Teams - Players who would you buy from their Squads?
S-Clarke replied to le_tiss's topic in The Saints
Olsson? are you having a giraffe??? He is absolutely tosh, lower league player at best. And if we want another non-scoring forward, Ayew is our man…. -
What if Swansea make up 9-point goal difference?
S-Clarke replied to Singapore Saint's topic in The Saints
They are the lowest scoring team in the top flight, their top scorrer has 6 goals. They haven't scored a goal in 4 games. They were utterly toothless against us. They know it's up.
