Now you've done it!!!!

To be honest, he's inherited a lot of players....but a lot of players who simply don't fit. The problem he's had is that they spent all their money last summer, over £100m. For a club such as spurs, that's pretty much your summer budget gone for the next few years (especially when Levy is running the show!). He's been left with a squad which is unbalanced and lopsided, no real goal scorers and an inconsistent and injury prone defence - and financially, he's not been able to do anything about it. As you notice from the summer, the only deals they seemed to be able to conclude are ones which includes a player going in the opposite direction. When you look at the recruitment structure for us during the summer, compared to them, you can see how much more time and attention to detail we spend on signings. These guys weren't just signed based on a 2 week assessment, we're talking 18 months of scouting and monitoring. Soldado, Lamela and co were signed as marque 'big name' signings - but clearly no due diligence was done on their strengths, weaknesses or how likely they are able to adapt to the premier league. They were just sexy names who were signed for big money and would 'excite' the fans. Those 2 signings cost spurs in the region of £60m, and neither have delivered and will probably end up moving on within time for cut price fee's. Poch is hand tied by the previous summers ****-fest, but he should have seen that from afar before getting himself all excited. He'll learn.

Eh? Clyne has been one of our best players this season. And as has been pointed out, Belgium's first choice RB is at our club...

Well done Les Reed and the Scouting department...

Umm. He was actually signed to offer us an option and an alternative in the attacking 3. He may be seen as iffy due to his goal return, but as I've seen, I'm certain he wasn't just signed for goals. As we saw against Sunderland and even Newcastle, his movement pulled those sides all over and opened the games up. He is a good signing and will prove to be a good, albeit, expensive option to rotate. -
To be fair, he does look like he may have a dive or 2 in him...

Seriously, does Warnock ever come out after a game and not moan about refs? It's pretty tedious now.
-
Saw a photo which showed him after an operation. No idea what's wrong with him, possibly a bit personal hence the lack of club coverage over it. Whatever it is, I hope he's on the road to a full recovery.

Someone's just been told they're not getting any tonight.
-
Gaston seems to have been signed by Hull to be the 70 min substitute for Abel Hernandez, whilst keeping him company on the coach.
-
Most CB's would look unbeatable behind our midfield to be honest, but he is assured for sure.

They're getting restless..

I reckon we'll see... Forster Clyne - Fonte - Gardos - Targett Wanyama - Cork Davis Mane Long Pelle give tadic a little rest, he looked completely dead in that 2nd half.

Tough game physically (someone tell the Stoke fans that they do play physical...). But they didn't trouble us, not once inch. It was a bit nervy from time to time as we gifted them possession, but they did the grand total of zilch with it and didn't cause us any major headaches. I'm sure we'll have some words after our 2nd half which wasn't great in terms of game control, we seemed very fatigued in general play and mind - but we stuck in there and secured a valuable 3 points in a totally different game to last week, but it's still 3 points. 19 points at this stage is truly unbelievable really.

This goal wasn't even dubious at the time, nor was it in dispute as to who the goal scorer was. I thought those were the criteria that any goal needed to meet before it was put under these experts noses? Why have they wasted their time to look at this, i assume, over and over and over again to make an own goal out of it? Obviously no one has it in for us, but things like this sometimes make you wonder.....
-
Lol @ Rogers. ''Unfortunate to be 3-0 down''. I thought they were quite lucky it was only 3.

Real Madrid had to protect their fitness for the derby at the w/e. If they wanted more, they'd have got more. Liverpool totally and utterly out of their depth. Seeing the faces of the Liverpool trio in the Sky studio is just brilliant.
-
What is the deal with Balotelli by the way? Why is he rated so highly? He's such a non player.
-
Lallana on. Just as he dreamt whilst we were losing at home to Cardiff I bet.
-
The weight of every one of his passes is just spot on. He's like a magician. He's like Isco without pace.
-
Us winning, Liverpool being thrashed by Hull and Spurs being humiliated by Pardew. That would suit me pretty well.

Tadic most unselfish Saints player ever?
S-Clarke replied to Red and White Army's topic in The Saints
In his first L1 season with us, he got 36 odd goals but 24 assists. Tells you all you need to know about that guys game. -
I wish we were playing Liverpool next week, they are a total mess of a football team. Just look at that third goal, 3 players going for the same ball and none of them getting it. They are leaderless, rudderless and clueless in defensive situations. Lovren has made that setup oh so much worse. He's horrendus, he'll be shipped off in the summer for a cut price fee back to Russia or somewhere. Their defence wasn't great last year, but it's now a joke.

So often you see managers blessed with so called 'great squads', but they underachieve and don't deliver. He may have had a good squad with us, but he delivered results and got them playing in a cohesive and organised way. When Pardew was sacked and we'd just lost at home to Swindon under the leadership of Wilkins, promotion looked a distant memory. But he got us going pretty quickly, and after that 1-0 at Sheffield Wednesday we never looked back to be honest. There are still some people who want to be proven right in their scathing of Adkins, but basing their 'I Told you so' rants on how he's doing at a completely different club is totally irrelevant. The end of the story is that he got us promoted - twice. He got us playing good football with lots of results. He will be seen as one of our most successful managers in recent years, no matter how well he's done at bloody Reading.

I think he's some sort of Ambasidor isn't he? (as well as a coach for the U18's). Such a good lad. Another great Pardew signing, it has to be said! (although anyone at our level with a bit of dosh would have attempted to sign him at the time..!)
