VIDEO: Pellè shares video shown to the players pre-match
S-Clarke replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Yeah I thought that! Nice one Mane! Great video though, spine tingling stuff. It's got me pumped for next sunday already. -
Amazing news on Clyne, I felt this was ''next'' on the list after the comments that started to come out next week. I think any move for Toby will just linger in the background for a while, but maybe the club just feel they need to go out and replace him rather than wait around for what may be. Morgan - expected. But to spurs, no - not expected. If that's his only choice, you'd hope he just sticks it out here. Not expecting him to sign a new contract, but going to Spurs would be such a pointless move for him.

It wasn't a bad game to go into really, what you want to see from a loanie like Djuricic is to turn a game we're chasing, which he hasn't had the chance to do yet. If there is an opportunity to loan him next season, I wouldn't be against that. But in no way what so ever would I shell out the £9m agreed fee on him based on what we've seen.

This really has been a tremendous bit of PR exercise by the club. Has raised our profile somewhat as well. Excellent work, give whoever came up with this idea a bonus!

Yeah these comments confuse the **** out of me as well, someone at the game yesterday said that our new shirt was awful, the worst he'd seen in PL time. I mean, what do people expect? Multicolored stripes? Red and white stripes vertically, diagonally? I mean come on, we're red and white stripes, we have a red and white striped kit. What's awful about that exactly I'll never know.

Why are you defending toe-punt? He was poor at the time, but I held my view that he was a good player going through a rough patch. That didn't stop the incredibly embarrassing OTT posts as above and from others. What people seem to forget is that he was a young player, coming into a foreign country in the middle of a very hard PL season. He had a dip, but so did a few others. The way he's come out of that dip shows to me that he's adjusted and he's playing to the ability I could see from the start. I'm not just saying that either, from the start you could see that he had real quality in his game - but he's the sort of player that can become erratic, like most wide players. I think the best way to describe him is someone who can be damn frustrating, but the only player in our squad capable of doing something downright outrageous. And those sorts of players are hard to come by. I wasn't picking on toe-put just because of that thread, but in a few other threads he had a heated argument with me that he wasn't good enough - conference level I think he called it. It's interesting to see that he hasn't posted since Mane's form turned.

I may be wrong on this, but going by Football manager - which to be fair, is usually pretty solid on release clause figures/contract values etc......Toby has a 13 million euro hard release clause, so if they do recall him then he can go for 13m anyway - i'd still pay that. I think it's up in the air to be honest. I don't think he'll get the football he wants every week @ Madrid, may be wrong, but I think their current 2 of Miranda and Godin (and Jiminez as well) are outstanding. He'd be 4th choice CB (unless they know they're losing 1 of those 3..?) But if Madrid do then accept to sell him, I think we're in pole. You could say that Madrid do hold all the cards, they do in effect have the power...but player power can also talk, as we found. If he knows he's not going to be getting week in, week out football at Madrid then I can't see him accepting their decision.

Hi, How are things? Face still bright red?

I think that's Jake Sinclair...might be wrong though.

Thank **** that is over. What a load of over-emotional clap trap. Not even a word for Palace, not even a word. Sickening.

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 6-1 Aston Villa
S-Clarke replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
We just need City to do the biz tomorrow so we can go into Sunday worrying about ''what's above'' and see what we can do, rather than worrying about what's behind... -
I doubt poor palace will get much talk here, even though they were truly superb. This is what happens when you have a sky channel full of scousers, utter trash. They've got Liverpool FC TV, so ****ing use that. We don't care.

Another LOLvren special today.

POTM to you! -
Worth getting to be honest, if you can deal with the drones of Owen their buildup and coverage is good. The fletch and sav thingy they do on Saturday mornings from the days ''live game'' is a really good watch I think.

Our On-the-Beach mentality is a f**king disgrace
S-Clarke replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
If there is one thing you can guarantee almost every season, without fail, is seeing Alpine get it spectacularly wrong once again. He's so consistent. -
Yep, fair play to the ref! Oh so so happy with that result, it ****es on Sky's cringeworthy trash. They're in the bloody cop with the pundits ffs. Seriously, who cares.
-
Come on Palace, ruin the party.
-
To be fair, it's just the normal BT Sport guys. They brought out their 'big hitters' for their last PL game. They're all signed up to BT Sport in one way or another, pretty sure there wasn't anything to do with club affiliation with any of them.
-
Referee playing the occasion there, no way was he going to give the opposition a penalty in Gerrards last game. In which he has been totally invisible by the way. Incredibly cringe-worthy Liverpool-loving claptrap, and what the hell is the player-cam all about?? seriously.
-
He was being absolutely destroyed. I think BT Sport will think about having their coverage in front of us - especially when they had an ex-skate in their ranks, what were they thinking

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 6-1 Aston Villa
S-Clarke replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
This game is an example of why pace in the final third is important for any team. Villa played into our hands though, why on earth they decided to play a high line with defenders slower than me is beyond me. It was damage limitation from the off for them, and they failed quite miserably in that. To be honest, I lost count of the amount of times we got in behind them through balls over the top, or round the corners. They made Pelle look like Usain Bolt and that's saying something! For me, Mane will be a world superstar. He has everything in his locker. He's got a bit of arrogance, a bit of bite, he's fast as hell and very technical. His finishing by the way is so good....that third goal was a wonderful strike. Also, Long - take a bow. Best game I've seen him have for us, not just his goals, but he moved Villa all over the place all game. They could not handle his pace or movement, and that second goal is a thing of beauty. Pelle was very, very good as well - unlucky not to have had more goals, but that 6th was the cherry on the top for me - what a flaming goal. If Arsenal had scored that, they'd be creaming over it. One touch, one touch, one touch, goal. Wonderful. The front 3 of Pelle, Long and Mane were electric. They pulled them all over the place all afternoon long and it was a pleasure to see. The perfect way to end a season, couldn't have asked for any more. So now, in every single aspect, this season has been better than last. Better points, better GD, more goals scored and less goals conceded. Let's just make sure we finish the job and finish in a higher position than last. We're making a mockery of this meltdown malarkey. Let's hope for another this summer, eh? -
Are we still going on about this? Ronald did tell him he was in his plans and he wanted him to stay as part of the squad, he was even offered a contract. He didn't want to just be part of the squad, he wanted to be a key member of the 11 and play every week. He wouldn't have got that here, fair enough he could have waited around for 6 months to see if injuries popped up, or they were sold in the summer.....but he's a bit better than that, and to credit him he chased football rather than being a squad player. As has been alluded to above, we're in an impossible position to have players of Corks' ability as squad players, in my opinion. We're not a big enough club for that, so we will always suffer from the ''lack of quality squad'' depth argument.
