Toby Alderweireld Signs on Season Loan - Official

I reckon it's probably 50/50, or 60/40. I hope he realises he's taking a drop if he joins us on a long-term deal... -
Gaston Ramiez to Hull on Season Long Loan - Official

That's probably one of the considerations. Himself and Gaston grew up at the same club in Uruguay as well. (not sure you could call him Uruguay's top striker though!) -
Lol @ Leeds. Talk about our media team for trolling the fans, Leeds win the day I think Posted this tweet just before 11 last night: Which was then followed about 30mins later by 2 tweets regarding them selling 2 of their players. and then they ended it with this: Good old Leeds. Never fail to bring a laugh.

We're pretty good to be honest! That side of the club has been top class for few years now, the people running that side of it are decent blokes to boot. Some of the videos that come out are brilliant, the one that sticks in my mind was the England call up video from last season. Pretty miserable viewing now, granted, but it was so well put together and so interesting to watch.

Hmm, guess that means we'll lose Mane for a few months after Christmas for the ACON. Bit annoying. Luckily it's in the transfer window, so we can recruit if need be!
-
Pace always causes problems. It frightens the life out of defenders when you have players running at you, so I'm confident he will add to us. It's something we probably haven't had since Jason left and we were crying out for someone like him last year in my opinion, as there were times when the tip tap around the penalty box wasn't actually going to do anything.

Of course there was, but not as much as plenty of others. It's very easy to get emotionally carried away with it, as all we saw were player after player going. The turning point for me personally was the appointment of Koeman. I don't think any of us had a real idea about what was going to happen at the start and there was some criticism at the start, but I guess we all just needed to show a bit of patience and a bit of perspective. As the summer went on, it was clear that everything was actually fine. A bit of crappy PR here and there which didn't help things (especially when we had no manager) but somehow the club have pulled out a last minute equaliser at the death on deadline day. Credit for that.

Not trying to point score. Just not happy with the foundation NC laid, that's all. Not going to say any more on it! This is a fresh start now.

When has he ever looked like having a run in any side? That's the problem. Promises so much, yet I think it's more likely that he will be out with knocks and niggles most weeks. Either way though, it's a win-win for us. We could get a player back next year who has finally settled in the PL, made a big impact. We can either sell him for more than we would have got this summer, or retain him to improve our options. And I think a £3m loan fee is a bit of a wtf deal. Sevilla were offering that as a transfer fee! -
The thread for people who want to say sorry to the board
S-Clarke replied to berkshiresaint's topic in The Saints
It was all about actions, which they produced at the end of the day, pretty emphatically it has to be said. Their stance on Jay and especially Morgan was commendable. They'll probably go eventually, but it re-asserted ourselves in the market when it seemed as if we were easy pickings. -
It's quite a funny read, that's for sure. Who'd have thought it? Spurs fans condemning MP and their club for a lack of signings, yet here we are, the club MP left behind, with a stronger squad than last year. Maybe a notch down on quality, maybe, but so much more depth than we had. Board 1 - 0 Precious Individuals Will keep an update on that score over the next 10 months.

Up until the appointment of Koeman, it was a real WTF situation. No one knew what the plans were. Personally for me, once they got Koeman in I was pretty assured that ambition remained and quite simply cost cutting wasn't in action here. We just had a load of precious individuals, minus their best friend who promised them lies for 2 years. (that goes for supporters as well as players by the way)

Apparently he's negotiating his release from City so he can join Celtic on a free.

At least it's not built on Cortese's castle of paper cups though, I mean that would be a disaster. -

Says the right things, but seems like he's been brought up the right way. Obviously has huge respect for Koeman and has clearly been told (IMO) that he will be first choice alongside Fonte. Will be huge for us. Gardos isn't half bad either! So we're a hell of a lot stronger depth wise at CB than we were last year, and about £14m better off. Huge credit to the club. -

We trimmed the squad and removed a squad player, that's what's going on. -
Credit to the club. In July it all looked a bit WTF, but it's clear to see now that we had a hell of a lot of precious individuals making it impossible for the club to retain them. Their first job was to bring in a manager who can settle things down and put his opinions across. We get an absolute legend of a former player in Koeman, and not a bad manager either. That was a great initial move, which calmed my fears and kind of suggested that they did have an idea - and it wasn't a case of shutting up shop, ambition to a degree remained with that signing. Then came the need to reinvest. We've done it, we've spent £60 million quid in a single window. We've brought in some very good players, in particular Tadic, Forster and Toby are high level additions which retain our ambition. I think the club was in an awful position in July, Cortese made a set-up out of paper cups and he was the one at the bottom. They've stuck to their guns and have done things on their terms and on their time. We've assembled ourselves a competitive squad, probably down a notch in quality in some area's, but deeper and more options. So, well done to the club. Deserve credit for how they've handled this awful summer.

What a frigging bargain that could be. £20m for Lovren, £6.3m for Toby - who's at a similar level.
-
Great video by the club. Amazing to see what they put together for Jos, and the attitude they showed towards Adam! He must have really ****ed them off.

It really is a pretty top draw addition, let's be honest. I think he's quality, and to see we can get him on perm. as well is even more impressive.
