  1. If Cech becomes avaliable there will be plenty of clubs ahead of the queue before us, notably Arsenal who could - at long last - have a decent GK.
  2. MP knew he was off from the moment Nicola walked out. Unfortuatley at that time last year we had a lot of new people in the board room, and I still to this day believe MP played on their inexperience a bit and took them for a bit of a ride. I don't think he ever had any intention to stay once NC had gone, but he just kept us hanging for months which made our pre-season even harder. This year we thankfully have a structure in place and a plan.
  3. If he's coming here with the premise of being a first choice for a decent amount of time, then it could work.
  4. Interesting gif on there from Gobern, did he forget he was playing football?? That looks so much worse now than when I remember it. Wonder what he's up to these days....probably a black belt by now.
  5. Windows is probably the expert on this, but they look well stocked with Verrati, Pastore, Matudi and Cabaye. I wonder if we'll have the situation of no club actually making any decent bids for him, again.
  6. Before I even read the article I wasn't surprised by it's content, going by the name of the site. The battle of the new forest....coming to a South Coast near you! (but Mind the horses and ponys)
  7. Well that's interesting, if not a little unfair on Toby.
  8. I reckon it could be Maarten Steklenburg. Just purely because he's dutch! and available, and experienced with a good pedigree!
  9. He's not going to go to Spurs, he wants CL football. I think he admires MP and MP admires him....but as you said..Man City could be an option, and what makes Morgan especially attractive to English clubs is his ''home-grown'' status.... I don't think he'll go to Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool or Spurs.....so in this country, it's between City and Arsenal IMO. I don't think anywhere else is a sensible move.
  10. Yep, impossible to call.....I reckon we'll lose at least one of those, but at least we're not going to be playing sides who sit back with 10 behind the ball.
  11. QPR at home this w/e for Liverpool.
  12. It was a good offside trap, it was just that Balotelli didn't want to join in.
  13. Holloway's not in charge of them anymore, he lost his job aggges ago. I think Neil Harris is the manager.
  14. I think everyone's fixtures are tricky tbh, playing the teams down there scrapping at this stage is always tricky and it always throws up dodgy results - so I don't see us having an easy run at all. But....given how the fixtures play out, if........IF.....we win the next 2, I think we've got one foot in fifth, as that should create a little gap. (given that Liverpool are away at Chelsea, Spurs play Stoke away next w/e, and City this weekend)
  15. And still some people think he can do a job for us...!! The quicker he goes back to South America the better for all concerned
  16. Fair play Hull. Sunderland look in big, big trouble if they fail on Saturday. Sets the game up...!
  17. What, do you mean that Brendan 'Tactical Genius' Rogers has got it wrong?!?!!?!? No. Never, he's the messiah for global football.
  18. Pretty enjoyable game to watch this. Bit end to end, Hull showing lots of fight and belief. Balotelli is an absolute liability in both boxes though.
  19. From what I've seen, Clasie is very Morgan-esque in the position he plays, and the style of his game. He's a bit smaller (ok, a lot smaller!) but he's a snappy little character with excellent technique. He's basically a like for like in Morgan's position.
  20. to be fair, we've helped them out a fair bit in the past. Lallana, Surman loans. Oh, and we helped them get a fair wedge from the Lallana deal.
  21. I imagine we're subsidising the wage. But whatever, they've achieved a great thing on far less resources than we had. Respect to them.
  22. All transfers are hit and miss, but Liverpool, particularly over the last 2 seasons have been pathetically bad. Must be like a 10% success rate at best. Of course we've signed some dross, but I'd say our good signings have outweighed those a lot more impressively. Liverpool have acted like a club who aren't quite there as a ''top, top club'' so can't attract the big guns, but they go and spend stupid money on the next level of player down instead.
  23. Similar as we did in the summer I think. Tadic is quality, but has struggled with form/fitness in the 2nd half - but he was a quality replacement for Lallana, Mane in some respects added to this area as well. Toby, quality replacement for Lovren. Bertrand, quality replacement for Shaw. So, if we accept that we're going to lose Morgan, Clyne and Toby (at least) this summer.....it won't look too bad if they're replaced with Clasie, Van Der Wiel and Dragovic.
