This is up there with the ''Wotton is better than MS'' thread. Seriously, watch the game or something.
-
He's developed rapidly in these last 6 months, he's now a regular - not an in and out type of player, he's now a key player. He is sometimes a little lightweight, but his position in supporting the attacks - usually just in an AMC role - is where I've been most impressed with him. His ability to sense and float into space shows he has a great understanding of the game, and obviously we all know that his touch and technique is second to none. Set pieces, obviously, not many better in the league - but his assists from open play, which he's played 2 or 3 times this year, have been equally as impressive - the weights of the passes have been Tadic esque in some cases. All he needs is a goal, as in that position he needs to be more of a goal threat in a sense - but he's come on leaps and bounds, will be another England player before long - but not sure that's a good thing, would be happy to keep them all away from that mess if I'm honest.

And what a bit of sand it is!

Yeah, I'm really worried. Sat there in 3rd, totally ****ting my pants with worry. We're not winning games, we're not scoring goals, what will we do? oh. Basically, no. There's nothing to worry about what so ever. He still gets into positions and hits the bar, it will come. Good player.

Jose Fonte. Still here, been there all the way with us. Improved and grew with the club. We got him for a £1m and he's now an international CB and one of the best CB's in the league. Scored some massive goals, including that Brighton winner. In the same way as Lambert, you're not going to ever get better value at £1m. Incredible to think what he's done for us these 5/6 years.

I used that site, tried to be as realistic and objective as possible... W - 9 D - 2 L - 5 That's 29 points from a possible 48. Given how we've gone this season, doable, surely? Gives us 72 points and 4th, 3 points ahead of Arse who are on 68. Worth noting that Everton finished on 72 points last year, but missed out as Arsenal got 79 points in 4th. Got a hunch it's not going to be near that total this year though. We also have 1 more point and a better GD than everton did at this stage last season. How the hell is it even possible to be contemplating this. I still can't get my head around it. I can't get my head around people saying that we're now one of the best teams in the country, it doesn't compute just yet.

This is actually a valid discussion point, what the actual hell. Don't wake me up!

Yeah, the goal difference is massively impressive. Also worth noting from last season, we are 11 points better off - 11 points!! and we have a goal difference which is +17 better! Incredible, truly incredible. Even more so given the fact that we've just gone through the toughest run of fixtures all season. Top 4 just seems so far fetched for us to even be talking about, silly in fact, but when you look at the position, the points, the goal difference, the renmaing games and the total number of games left.....it's there, it's within reach and its' gettable. It's truly something out of a dream.

lol @ carver. ''We dominated the game''. No, you didn't. And that's why you're not getting the job.

42 points by mid-January, what on earth is going on.
-
He's such an obvious WUM, please do something about him!
-
To be honest, that's not a bad side at all. Maybe a little ''light'' in terms of strength through the middle which is a bit worrying, but there's a nice wide look to that side with both Elia and Tadic - with the 2 full backs as well.

Yeah, really poor these days. I think it's clearly struggling ratings wise too, hence the recent changes to an hour less - and it's exposure on sky one, as well as Sky sports - probably to try and bring in more viewers. I think it's on it's last legs, can see it going and being replaced by something less sketch showish, more informative in terms of the weekend buildup with guests etc. A more lively/big version of goals on Sunday to that effect. At the end of the day, it's about football and sport. I don't want to hear from random rappers who are clearly intoxicated and stoned on the orange sofa's. The lifelessness of some of their 'guests' is sometimes so embarrassing.

Pretty boring all being told, but it was another game whereby we were totally in control and didn't allow the opposition to really get up any sort of head of steam. We didn't have to over work and we weren't too knackered by the end of the game, it was very similar to that of the Utd display, and it was a very disciplined, clever tactical performance - which once again limited the opposition to no hope of getting a chance, let a lone a goal. We are an incredibly drilled outfit and Fonte is the heart of that.
-
The bonus for us is that they are still in somewhat of limbo. Carver is still there, he wants the job, but clearly isn't going to get it. So there's going to be a lot of uncertainty around the place. Added to the fact that they've lost Tiote, Cisse and Sissoko is injured (I think) we have as good a chance as any.
-
Sure it was a hammy, done it myself before and you just know. You get a 'ping' and you feel like your leg is being stabbed in the back. To me it looked like a nailed on strain/tear of the hammy.
-
There were simply just seconds between him getting injured and the HT whistle being blown. Now that's just plain old unlucky crap.
-
Maybe we should have thought about that before getting rid of him.
-
Not sure what your gripe is with Morgan, but you're coming over as a bit of a loon with anything associated with him.
-
Welcome to the snap, knee jerk world of the modern football fan. Ignore the long-term, focus on the short-term snap shots. Apparently.
-
Why would anyone want him at this moment in time? He had a set back, he's not been seen for nearly a year. Why would you pay anything until you've seen him back playing and scoring? It would be stupid for the buying club to do that, and it would be incredibly dim for Jay as well. He could easily end up like Scott Sinclair or Jack Rodwell without any trouble.
-
He's a media WUM, that's what he's made his name for. Saying far away, controversial stuff, to provoke comments and reaction. It's what he does.
-
Yeah, I think he's now gone a notch above Spurs level, and secondly as we saw in the summer, they can't afford him - even more so now. They don't have the finance require to pull him away, and they can sod off with all their player swap ********.
-
Depends how in demand he is, really. If he attracts attention from the likes of PSG and also clubs from England, then we could be entering into silly money territory. I wouldn't be surprised to see huge money put down in the summer. He's simply one of the best midfielders of his sort in Europe right now. If any world giant wanted a midfielder, he'd probably be top of the list. and with 3/4 years still remaining on his contract, we are in a very strong position to get top, top dollar should he leave.

He's like a hyperactive hamster.
