Better to have young talent providing the backup, rather than filling the squad with crap. He is crap these days tbf.

It's all a bit odd, the Chambers one is clearly the strangest one. Makes me feel that Arsenal hit the release fee on that one though.

Can't remember, lost track of everything! But it's probably very close to the truth, they saw the reaction when it broke that Spurs were closing in and decided to pull it. That's what I feel anyway and that's probably why parties are a bit miffed.

Just been having a read of the Spurs ITK thread on their forums, they've got a couple of Guan 2.0 and K,Billy types. (Their guy is called Goat, apparently) They are of the belief that the personal terms between Spurs and MS are done 100% and have been sorted for weeks, they just can't get us to accept a bid. (And this happens all the time by the way...) They are saying that Southampton pulled the rug from underneath the deal as it was all in place 3 weeks ago, we (Southampton) changed the goal posts as we felt we had a point to prove. Morgan's agent is trying to take it to tribunal under a restriction of trade (???? this bit sounds utter bull**** to me). They've suggested that they will either get him in the last hour of deadline day, with Saints claiming they did all they could to keep him, or they'll get him in January. £20m upfront fee is set. We'll see...

It does seem as if we're stepping into the fire by bidding for him.

I think we're well stocked up front, more so than last year. Take into account Jay who will be returning soon, he's not months away as some are suggesting. So you've got Jay, Long, Pelle, Gallagher - that's more options than we had last year! I see Jay/Long competing for the same spot, and same goes for Pelle/Gallagher. I think we need a winger for balance, we looked a little lop sided on Sunday I felt. The partnership down the left was excellent, but it was only really Clyne offering anything on the right - so if we get another Tadic like wide option to go on the right, then we will be a pretty solid outfit. In an ideal world you'd want another CB and RB, but the reality is that we still have options within the squad for those if worst comes to worst. Reckon we'll see a wide man come in and that'll be that.
-
Not sure what's happened with that. There were a few clubs interested, including Stoke. Maybe it's all happening in the background. If I'm honest though, I have a feeling we've moved away from him and we are after Top flight experience for our wide option. Will be interesting to see who we get anyway, as we will certainly get a wide player I'm sure of it. Hope we get a couple of deadline day deals, always makes it more exciting!

We rely on ticket revenue and Season ticket sales, if we start discounting that then we end up without a club. As Sour Mash said, we have no real global pull in a commercial sense. Byern are raking it in via Sponsorships, global advertising deals and the like. They also have an enormous stadium and an enormous fan base, they sell out every week. We don't.

City want a full transfer for Sinclair and all his wages paid, that's why he's still there and why his career is going down the pan. You'd hope that is a wake up call to any other young player leaving for a big club! Victor/Marin have gone elsewhere I think. I'd love to see March here, I think he's class and he adds back to the English core we lost.
-
I wouldn't.
-
Yes it does! I mean in Football Manager I just press a few buttons and I've made a bid all within a few seconds, how hard can it be ffs? Les out.

That post has Ralf all over it.

3-1. Burnley are utterly out of their depth. It's like a PL against NPC cup game. This is whatever score Chelsea want.
-
Scott Sinclair on 55k p/w, what the actual ****.
-
Quality 2-1. Cesc at his best.
-
1-1. Great game.

I would be happy with Depay, a lot of pace and quality that we're missing in certain area's at the moment - but he's probably slightly out of our level at the moment. Using my football manager geekness here, but what is Luciano Narsingh like in real life? Seems to have bags of pace and skill, could be an option.

They will play on the break with the pace and power of Berihino and Anichibe I reckon. and rely a lot on the midfield doggedness of Mulumbu and Gardner. Will be a slog I reckon. Won't get too down hearted or excited whatever the outcome though.

Yep, same. Also has a similar feel to the Sunderland home game last year, 2nd game of the season as well I think? Drew 1-1 with a last minute header from Fonte I believe, that was a damn slog against what was at that point, and utter utter dog **** Paulo Di Canio team.

He didn't have the best angle to be honest, he was being closed down very quickly. Davis was in the much better position and he should have made more of it. JWP made the right decision.
