  1. I don't like how this is all going to be honest. Something has gone wrong big style in the last few months, as he was pretty close at the back end of the year. In fact, he'd targeted the Burnley game (away) as a come back game! ACL injuries aren't the career enders they once were, but if you don't get the job done right first time then it will forever be a problem - and I just hope that that's not the case, as he's such a top player with bags of potential.
  2. This is exactly it. We're not going to sign complete players, we're going to sign players who have potential but are a little jagged around the edges. Players that can become 'big players' but are too much of a gamble for the big clubs right now. Mane is another perfect example of this. If Forster didn't have the little flaws that people keep bringing up then he wouldn't be here. He'd be at a big club and would probably be England's number 1.

    Shane Long

He's the sort of striker that is so suited to how we play, and even last season. High pressing from the front, chasing lost causes, working the channels. He's perfect for it. I'm sure that's why he was short-listed and why he was on our radar last year as well. In many ways, he's a less prolific version of Jay Rodriguez - which I'm sure the club had in mind when they recruited. He may not score many goals, but I don't believe the club bought him for just goals. They bought him for his all round game which is so much more than just goals, as we saw yesterday and have seen at other occasions this year. It's good to have a powerful striker like Pelle, but I do think our actual game is much more suited when we have willing runners from the front who can stretch sides.

    Ward prowse

This is like a yearly thing. Have a look at the posts from previous years at around the same time and you'll see the same thing. He starts the seasons well, gets a place in the side and keeps it. He gets a few knocks and niggles around Christmas time, gets back but then struggles to get to grips with the game and plays with a bit of tiredness. He then looses his place in the team and everyone says he's not good enough. Technically he is fine, he's not an awful player and he hasn't had a horror year what so ever. But when the going gets tough and the games ramp up, he struggles. He needs to bulk himself up a bit, show a bit more desire to snap into tackles. He's a little too weak. But it does seem odd that we must always have someone to criticise. We're 6th in the league, if I'm honest I don't think any of our players deserve criticising to be honest.
  5. I think he's struggled with the expectation and pressure this year, he shows it in odd ways. Like the odd spat with the player a few weeks ago for one, and the club have dealt with it oddly as well given the sacking and unsacking. He's had an odd year. I'm surprised at Leicester if i'm honest, I thought they were in the best place to really push on this year - they have a better squad than Burnley for instance, but he has struggled to manage it. He had the backing, in January the club allowed him to get a very highly rated striker but they're still not cutting it.
  6. Liverpool fans never cease to amaze me, the deluded ****s. They wanted us to win today as they felt they still have a chance of the league. Seriously, really? Pillocks.
  7. I love Mane, I think he's terrific. So quick and so elusive in his touches, and by the time he's taken a touch he's gone passed you.... He's won us some huge points this year and has contributed here to a massive result. Quality player and he's silenced all the knee-jerking doubters he had at the start. Where are they now?
  8. Spurs look a mess, looks like we've gained a place in the league this weekend! Given the games coming up for Utd in the coming weeks, I don't think that 6 point lead they have is insurmountable. Ok, its looking likely that the top 4 will be the top 4 come the end, but there will still be twists. European football in any sense for us is a truly remarkable achievement, and given the fact that 7th looks likely to qualify you, we're almost there.
  9. I'm stunned to see Charlie raise this point, it's not like him to look for sour angles. Let's worry about it if and when it happens, eh?
  10. 2 winners and a crucial goal to earn a point. Not a bad 3!
  11. He's injured. for a change.
  12. The first half was terrific, but we didn't take advantage when they were on the ropes - and boy they were for big periods in the 1st half. But the same can be reversed in the 2nd half, we were on the ropes and they couldn't take advantage. It was an even game in that sense, we had the first half, they had the 2nd. Morgan MOTM, he's a one man shield. Most defenders dream of having him in front of them!! (and Vic, what a combo). Forster, massive saves. huge. Great shot stopper. What I loved about the first half more than anything was our 'zip', we were faster, sharper and snappier in the final third and looked a hell of a lot more fluid. Whether that's due to Pelle not being in the side or just a bit of a rest, only time will tell - but I think Long did enough to keep his place in that setup. On the next game (Man Utd) I'll take a draw. Best result in my opinion, get both sides dropping points. Man Utd have hell fixtures coming up, so they will drop points in the coming weeks.
  13. Elia is injured.
  14. The PL is not really a place for sentiment. The reality is Toby is better than Yoshida and will play. Yoshda has been good, but Toby is still in a different league.
  15. City weren't ''bad'', they just lacked the urgency at the start and it allowed Burnley to get their foothold. Then they were simply playing against 2 banks of 4 and that was that.
  16. Sunderland is rotten to the core. Poyet, Bruce, O'Neil aren't all bad managers, yet all have been/are being pushed out of that place. They need to go down, strip the squad apart, and start from scratch with a fresh faced young manager. If they keep just about surviving they will continue to ruin managers careers. Poisoned challace
  17. A lot of this is Redknapps fault, he created a mess of a side full of - once again - overpaid 'has beens' in the hope they would gel and work together. They didn't, he had no answers, so he jumped to leave Ramsey with the mess. As much as Fernandes is a bit of a fool, Redknapp was a disaster for them in every single way. Seems to make a habit of leaving clubs in a mess which take years to fix.
  18. QPR are a mess, but it's not Harry's fault, f'sure.
  19. Probably a bit overkill for most, but I have a Proliant server under the stairs running ESXI, loads of VM's where I play with all my training materials generally etc - but I've also installed a media setup on it. I have Plex media server running on 1 of the VM's. All my media is stored on my general Qnap NAS (which is the storage device for everything) and Plex just scans from those folders, never had any issues. It's hidden away under the stairs and the media is available on any TV or Device inside or outside the house. The beauty is that I can be watching a film on my TV, but don't have time to finish watching it as I have to go out on the train etc - so i stop it on the TV, get on the train, load up the phone and it carries off from exactly where I stopped it on my TV. Plex is pure genius. I can't recommend plex highly enough by the way, genius bit of software that has changed my viewing habits!
  20. Well, PSG are ready to throw big bucks @ Di Maria apparently, so they can re-use some of that.
  21. Oh god, we're not going to have another summer of Paul Allen yought spotting are we?
  22. Reckon united will pass up on Falcao and Di Maria, and go for Cavani and Bale instead.
  23. If I was him, I'd jump out of that hole as soon as possible. Fantastic player, and he needs to be the main man again somewhere else. Would love to see him back in the PL.
  24. In L1 we were a great investment, due to the facilities we already had in place. So we were able to invest into the team and grow with that. I think a Newcastle, Everton or a Villa are more attractive options than us at this level. I think we've got a great setup at the moment though, and I can never see us becoming a mega-rich sugardaddy backed club - it's not what we are about.
