Liverpool fans really don't like Lovren, they're calling for him to be dropped now.
-
Here's a new idea, maybe we should just support Koeman? Rather than going back into the past for no reason at all. He was a slimy **** with the way he created his 'exit', but it happened, it's done, it's finished. Before all of that, he gave us a great season. I'd just pay him no interest tbh.
-
Les was always the one we had to put our trust in, I'm baffled as to why so many were intent on turning on him. The one link to our rise after NC left, quite clearly had a big say in our 5 year rise, yet people were so quick to blame him for everything.

Is anyone watching the Blackpool protests? What the actual ****? 5 or 6 black balloons released onto the pitch, about 1 min of ''oysten out'' chants, and now a few mobiles being flashed in the crowd for 1 or 2 mins to show their disgust, or something. I'm so embarrassed for them, they probably don't know how utterly pathetic it looks on live tv.

It is really, if we're honest there's no need for them to be a team in transition. He's well and truly broken that side, and he's now trying to talk his way out of it. Also, shouldn't we be in more of a transition than them? I don't see us moaning, Okay, it's early days, but he's struggled to get any sort of level from that setup yet, and he's criminally underusing Rickie Lambert, and demonstrating he doesn't really know his game. All they needed to do was replace Luis Suarez and Glen Johnson, and maybe a CB at the level of Hummells - Lovren doesn't really upgrade them. Their summer signing policy was nothing other than a mess, but they Scousers will never admit that.

Jose Fonte in new Portugal coach's thoughts - Gets first Call Up!
S-Clarke replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
The most deserved call up, ever. Fantastic person, leader and player. After rickie, £1,2m on him was a bargain in the grand scheme of things. It didn't seem it then...he took a drop down etc, but fully rewarded on both sides of the fence. -
They don't have a squad to challenge for the league. They have a squad to make a challenge for the top 4, maybe, but not the league. He's a bit of a dimwit, so not surprised at his comments.

''We have no chance''. Of course we do, what exactly is the point of thinking like that? And why bet against your own team, it's just weird.

Looking at Spurs attendance tonight, the fans don't even seem to bothered about it. It's kind of like a European Carling Cup, and Thursdays is hoenstly the only day it can be played. Uefa aren't going to allow it to be played during the same time as their 'flagship' UCL games. I don't think you even get much money for winning, although I do believe the winner now gets a champions league place for next season - which is better than it was. Overall, I wouldn't say no. It's a good crack, some mental European away nights which can be priceless, but you need a big squad to be able to handle it - otherwise your league form will simply fall through the floor, but the catch 22 is that the competition doesn't provide enough financial incentive for teams to build big enough squads. The sides who generally do well are the sides who inadvertently missed out on the UCL qualification.

I don't know, you tell us.

Graziano Pellè to be called up for Italy's squad to start qualifying for EURO2016, taking the place of Mario Balotelli - who will be left out. Cue Liverpool fans holding a minutes silence.
-
Both great goals, both important goals....but for me, it was Pelle. It was the sheer audacity to even try it...the touch to flick it up to the perfect position, and then bang. That wasn't luck, that wasn't poor defending...it was just sheer class at every point.

He's had to spend his SFC loyalty bonus on something.

Should we have sacked Pochettino any way?
S-Clarke replied to Red And White Barmy Army's topic in The Saints
Di Matteo was lined up at many stages during NC's reign, I reckon. -
Massive goal...! That was during the time when Huddersfield kept winning, and winning, and winning.....it was such a great battle. It was very much a case of who blinked first....and neither did! It was just our game in hand which clinched it in the end, Plymouth away I think. Great season.

Oh well, probably now a pub keeper then!

That Sunderland game killed it for me, if I'm honest. He had no interest, no intention and no care about that game. The selection showed it and the attitude of the management and players showed it. We could have easily achieved a Hull City last season and reached the final, easily, but it would have required a manager who gave a damn. -
He was released last summer I think, after his ridiculous 5 year contract. He's now on loan at Dartford town from Chelmsford, even they can't find a space for him. He was never a proper full time pro to be honest, just a part time pub player who somehow happened to find himself at a resurgent club. Lucky is one word for it!

They've had a fall from grace, that's for sure. They looked a decent bet for L1 promotion back then. Eastleigh have had an amazing rise themselves though, would be very interesting to see if they get promoted (tough ask, tbf) and end up playing the skates.... But if anything it shows you how quickly the football landscapes can change, as quickly as you can rise, the rug can get pulled from under you in double quick time. Just enjoy what you have rather than continuously wishing for more.

Burnley had a very average championship team who performed way above expectations last year. They've supplemented their squad with more average championship players. It's only going to end one way.
-
Jeez, your criteria for a striker must be totally beyond the realms of reality. You've just listed out all attributes which any supporter would want to see in a target man, yet you don't like him. Very odd, but entitled to your opinion.
-
He will frustrate and will bring 32,000 collective sighs in most home games...but he can do something randomally out of the blue. Such a good option to have, I'm not even sure he knows where he's going sometimes! Plays in a similar way to Yannick Boalsie at Palace, but seems to be up a notch ability wise.
-
How can you not warm to Pelle? He's everything you want in a target man. Can you tell me exactly what you think he should be doing? He wins a fair bit in the air as well, holds it and brings others into the game.

Horrendous WUM attempt. 0.5/10 and that's being generous! Need to try harder next time.
