  1. Di Maria to Utd is a done deal, a British record transfer fee (£60m ish)
  2. Certainly better eye candy, that's for sure.
  3. They said the full return of the proper half time effort will be in a couple of home games time. It's a new event based on the Veho sponsorship. Any reason why Benali's daughter is now a co-presenter?
  4. All these can do better posts make me laugh, as the people never, ever, ever name anyone who would be better.
  5. This x100
  6. To be honest, it's too early to go off on one about Pelle and knee-jerk about him not scoring any goals all year. He was a bit of a comedy player today though, has to be said. Still needs time though.
  7. A complete nightmare of a football match. No more to be said.
  8. I'm assuming that was said in jest.
  9. Still an injury away from non-PL standard keepers though.
  10. weeks now, rather than months. Should be back by Oct. if he doesn't pick up any knocks.
  11. He's off then. Pretty frustrating as it means that the signing of Forster hasn't actually changed anything in terms of that position.
  12. Vargas and Isla are two great chillian signings for them. both on loan too.
  13. Good to have Balotelli back, even if it's just for this.
  14. Rhodes isn't the sort of striker we'd be after, end of. And he will cost more than £12m seeing as Blackburn paid that for him in the first place.
  15. I tell you what, this club has done a great job in breeding primadonnas. Never known anything like it in my life! They are all so precious and unprofessional, really quite incredible. Another cup gone within the Cortese house of cups I'd think.
  16. He turned a bit ****, all being told. An example of a player coming in as an unknown, causing havoc with his 1 dimensional hit and run game. A few months on defenders know how to stop him, and that's that. He has also been injured a lot and has struggled to get back from that, but the asking price of £15-16m 18 months ago seems a bit comical now to say the least.
  17. Better to have young talent providing the backup, rather than filling the squad with crap. He is crap these days tbf.
  18. Fail.
  19. It's all a bit odd, the Chambers one is clearly the strangest one. Makes me feel that Arsenal hit the release fee on that one though.
  20. Can't remember, lost track of everything! But it's probably very close to the truth, they saw the reaction when it broke that Spurs were closing in and decided to pull it. That's what I feel anyway and that's probably why parties are a bit miffed.
  21. Just been having a read of the Spurs ITK thread on their forums, they've got a couple of Guan 2.0 and K,Billy types. (Their guy is called Goat, apparently) They are of the belief that the personal terms between Spurs and MS are done 100% and have been sorted for weeks, they just can't get us to accept a bid. (And this happens all the time by the way...) They are saying that Southampton pulled the rug from underneath the deal as it was all in place 3 weeks ago, we (Southampton) changed the goal posts as we felt we had a point to prove. Morgan's agent is trying to take it to tribunal under a restriction of trade (???? this bit sounds utter bull**** to me). They've suggested that they will either get him in the last hour of deadline day, with Saints claiming they did all they could to keep him, or they'll get him in January. £20m upfront fee is set. We'll see...
  22. It does seem as if we're stepping into the fire by bidding for him.
  23. I think we're well stocked up front, more so than last year. Take into account Jay who will be returning soon, he's not months away as some are suggesting. So you've got Jay, Long, Pelle, Gallagher - that's more options than we had last year! I see Jay/Long competing for the same spot, and same goes for Pelle/Gallagher. I think we need a winger for balance, we looked a little lop sided on Sunday I felt. The partnership down the left was excellent, but it was only really Clyne offering anything on the right - so if we get another Tadic like wide option to go on the right, then we will be a pretty solid outfit. In an ideal world you'd want another CB and RB, but the reality is that we still have options within the squad for those if worst comes to worst. Reckon we'll see a wide man come in and that'll be that.
  24. Not sure what's happened with that. There were a few clubs interested, including Stoke. Maybe it's all happening in the background. If I'm honest though, I have a feeling we've moved away from him and we are after Top flight experience for our wide option. Will be interesting to see who we get anyway, as we will certainly get a wide player I'm sure of it. Hope we get a couple of deadline day deals, always makes it more exciting!
  25. We rely on ticket revenue and Season ticket sales, if we start discounting that then we end up without a club. As Sour Mash said, we have no real global pull in a commercial sense. Byern are raking it in via Sponsorships, global advertising deals and the like. They also have an enormous stadium and an enormous fan base, they sell out every week. We don't.
