I think you're reading way too much into it. He wasn't too far off how he was last season to be honest, you need to remember that he didn't have a pre-season, he was straight into competitive matches - so the sharpness is playing catch up. I can understand why these questions come out, as with all that has happened it's easy to look for signs that he's not committed, but I think it's just a case of sharpness.

Let's not get carried away, but the signs are positive! We will face much, much tougher tests than West Ham put up today.
