  1. That's a surprise! But cheers for the heads up, will be on offside streams later in that case!
  2. Tottenham are being linked with a couple of midfielders in the French media, with L'Equipe reporting that Mauricio Pochettino has joined the list of admirers of Paris St Germain teenager Adrien Rabiot. PSG want in the region of €10million for Rabiot, who has a year left on his contract. Tottenham are also reportedly in advanced talks to sign Alex Song from Barcelona, with Marseille also interested in the former Arsenal midfielder.
  3. Back in training this week. Maybe be enough for a place on the bench...who knows. Frustrating really that his season is already being fragmented.
  4. Absolutely. I think this is why people still have Gaston in the back of their minds, we simply don't have another player like him and that's why we're all hoping he now shows something on a consistent basis...starting with tonight, hopefully!
  5. At the moment it feels to me as if we have too many 'safe' midfielder s. That's not to say that they are poor etc, but they are more inclined to play the ball sideways or backwards to retain posession rather than gamble with a forward pass. Last season Lallana often provided that forward pass, and Lambert would drop off to provide it as well - Tadic seems to be the player who looks up at what's in front of him, but the game seems a little fast for him right now. In many ways, this team is crying out for a Gaston type player. Someone who can receive the ball in the centre and stretch the game to the flanks, someone with a bit of bravery to make the killer pass. Might not always come off and we may lose possession at times off the back of it, but you need a player willing to do that, otherwise you play out 0-0's for fun.
  6. He's more of a wide man than an out and out striker though. If he wants regular first team football, he may consider us.
  7. Can we sign you instead?
  8. With Johnson injured and Walker still out, it's a done deal IMO.

  10. Would seem a bit of a square pegs round holes kind of move. I think we'll get a wide man too, lots going on I'd have thought.
  11. Toby would be a great addition, had a great world cup. But struggles to get in a very good At. Madrid defence. (no shame!). I believe he can also cover right back too, and has actually played a fair few games there during his career. Sounds like it has some legs, as well. As well as the Jordy one, which makes me query why....he's not a winger, he's a DM/CM.....morgan...?

    Pelle

Would be a pretty fair return.
  13. He's had a mare, that's f'sure.
  14. Liverpool look further away from the league than they've ever looked. City have just ****ed all over them this 2nd half.
  15. What the hell are you on about?
  16. What's wrong with Geoff Cameron? A solid and reliable premiership pro who will add to our squad depth. What is wrong with that? I'm guessing if he was named Geoffano Camerono from Inter, then we'd all be excited.
  17. Not entirely sure how Liverpool have any real hopes of winning the league with Johnson in that team. Awful player.
  18. He's not fully match ready because he needs match time. He doesn't need a flaming rest!
  19. Lazio? He's the stoke utility player. A pretty solid player if all is told, unspectacular, but a solid squad addition. Pretty much bang on in terms of a mid-table signing.
  20. He hasn't.
  21. Not the forum for that sort of talk, ART.
  22. Do we need yet another thread on this?
  23. Seems as if it's a case of ''They've left, so they're ****'' Really quite dull.
  24. Don't forget Target, he's the cover at left back. Also pretty sure we'll see a utility player come in who can cover RM/RB and CB. I'd say in terms of depth we're stronger up front. Last season we had Lambert and Jay, and an unproven and inexperienced Gallagher. You could even say that as Jay wasn't often played up front, we only had Lambert and Gallagher. We've got Pelle, Gallagher, Long and Jay in the forward areas this year - so more depth and quality to choose from. Not sure what you meant with regards to the club missing an opportunity in the GK position, I'm pretty sure we just signed Forster with the general idea to have Boruc as the competition. It's not the clubs fault that he decided to throw his toys out, even if it was him who laughed at his lack of competition last year. Bit of a mental head is our boruc. So I think by the end of the window we will end up with a wider squad, but about 2/3 notches down in overall quality.
