  1. Not smug at all. That doesn't say that there any formal bids down on the table, just faint interest - which is what I said anyway. I'm not sure why it's so hard to fathom - if there was a serious onslaught by an elite club to sign one of those 3 players, then they would have gone. There's no other debate to be had.
  2. The future of football is keeping the ball out at one end, and scoring at the other. It's really not that revolutionary!
  3. Sorry to burst your bubble, but he's in Madrid ahead of an £80m transfer from Monaco.
  4. Can you provide links to that? I honestly cannot remember. Maybe a few little glancing eyes and the like, but none of the elite clubs put serious money on the table for any of those players. That's why they all stayed. If Man Utd, Liverpool, Barca, PSG, Man City put serious bids down for club and player, they wouldn't be there any more.
  5. Ignore him, just a troll looking for bites.
  6. I can't see James Morrison, Chris Brunt, Steven Reid, Jonas Olsen or Shane Long interesting clubs in the top 4. The fact is that we probably should have done better, at least some silverware on the back of what was our best ever team. The players we have are being chased by the elite, that is the difference.
  7. Stop wumming, you're becoming very tedious.
  8. That window cleaner and Saint Charlie are annoying ****s at this moment in time.
  9. We haven't lost 5 or 6 players? We've lost 3, looking like 4. Atheltico lost Courtois, Costa and Luis - Koke is also the next off according to rumours. Big clubs circling the so called smaller clubs. Victims of our success, same with Feyernord. Welcome to football.
  10. Example of a good, collective defensive unit. Individually, not the greatest players.
  11. Crook is about as in the know as my dog.
  12. Not at that price, no.
  13. Even if we lose Lovren, that's 4. Where are the 6/7 coming from? Please don't tell me people are including Guly and Fox in any calculations just to make their point look more dramatic.
  14. People keep saying that they hope the next week is better than this one, but what has actually happened in the last week? Nothing. No one has gone, and no one has signed. We aren't in any better or worse position than we were 7 days ago, so I'm not sure what was so bad about last week! Just because we didn't sign anyone?? Would imagine the absence of Koeman in the UK would have had a bearing on it.
  15. I think he'd be a cracking addition to be honest. Ignore last season, he was quality when on loan at Swansea a season or so back. He will be an England international before long, but you just feel that the presence of Rio at QPR will likely get him to move there.
  16. They need to quickly get to Madrid and get him off that train then. If only they were able to shop in that market. He'll cost Madrid £80m.
  17. Clyne probably, as per last season. As I've said, LB is not seen as a priority by the club at all. They are all very excited by Targett, and maybe we should all be as well! At least we'll get 6 months to a year out of him before Liverhampton sign him.
  18. The thing I would say about those sides, is that they've kept their teams together - it's not always about who you sign, it's often about who you keep! And we've lost our entire spine, which doesn't exactly equate to a successful window in my books as it stands. Still, we will replace them and it could end up being a good window for us all - but at the moment, it's all a bit of a frustration.
  19. Does sound a bit ''having to sell before we buy''. Hadn't noticed that before.
  20. Top heavy though, and without their main man. I still think they're shopping for sloppy seconds, when you look at who Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd have got this year. They've signed lots of players which won't really make much difference, and sold their leading world class player.
  21. People do seem to ignore this point. The budget is the entire package. Wage, signing on fee's, bonuses, agent fee's - it's all part of the transfer budget, it's not as simple as saying I'll cost £30m and that's that. There's a very simplistic view to transfers on this forum I've noticed over the years, probably bread from the Football Manager game. And then bear in mind that Lambert, Lallana and Shaw's deals will not have been in full - so talk of £60m to spend isn't true, we may only currently have £25m to our name and waiting for the rest in clauses and instalments - so our deals will need to be structured in similar ways
  22. Reports emanating from Spain suggest Liverpool have enquired about taking Real Madrid midfielder Isco on loan
  23. They don't even get to play for us anymore.
  24. Another memorable thread from our resident psycho.
