Rio will be a QPR player next season then, probably Joe Cole as well.
-
Hit and miss, but in the main our style worked brilliantly as we had our best ever PL season - so it was a major success. He wasn't going to win every week, but one of the toughest, gritty, up and at it places to go in the league - Crystal Palace - was a game he managed superbly and we dug in and got our best away result of the season, IMO.

Reed always seems to be the scapegoat for when things don't go well, but people seem to forget that he's been here through it all. A lot of you are desperate for NC back, you need to remember that Les was often NC's football advisor on every single matter - so it's safe to say that a lot of the tough, yet good decisions over the last few years have come from his contribution. Let's see if he has another MP up his sleeve, as I think he's earnt our trust at least. As for the other rabble in the board room, the jury is well and truly out on that lot.
-
That worked well, as I'm sure he signed Joe Allen from them within a few weeks! To be honest those agreements are more than often just gentleman's agreements, shook on and left at that.

A lot is made of plan b's, plan c's, etc etc. - but what actually is it? Plan B is just to hit it hard and long and hope for the best? is plan c when you get even more desperate and throw your GK up there? or do you continue to be patient and work with your overall plan? At the end of the day, a lot of the lack of 'plan b' came down to a lack of squad. If the first 11 wasn't working, that was it. Nothing he could do. We had Guly and Jos on the bench, and I can't say either of those are game changers. So whilst people say when it doesn't go well, he didn't change it, but he didn't really have the options to change it. That was something he was probably hoping to address this summer, but never mind.
-
He'll be back here for Rodriguez and Lovren then.

We're in danger of belittling the quality of MP here, we always seem to do this when someone is about to leave. The reality is that MP is a high class manager, an incredibly high level coach, and we will not get anyone that is better than him. Maybe at the same level if we're clever, but we'd do very well to get anyone better.

You only have to have a look at Sunderland and Villa's starting 11's to realise that team would be fine. McClaren hasn't had a bad time at Derby to be honest. His stock has risen slightly, but I still don't see him as an appointment which would get the taste buds going.

As I mentioned earlier, you only have to cast an eye at the Mali group to be worried at what our future holds. I will be eternally grateful to ML and the family for all they've done, but I think it's time they let us move on and get us fresh ownership now. They would get their investment back ten-fold if they sold now, and we would probably have a fair few interested parties given our current situation. But if they stick, and continue to wind us down, then it will get harder to get out of it. I do truly think the time is now - we need to sell up to avoid a tumble.
-
It clearly isn't. Well managed, that's a mid-table PL team.

That appointment never ever felt right to me, especially seeing as he was also leaving at one point.

Yeah, it's because the club have no handle on absolutely anything. It's a media free for all. They've come into this thinking it's going to be like running any other business, and have completely ignored the media side of it all. Show your hand to the media, say the wrong things (i.e. - "we have inherited a difficult situation'' ''discussions with clubs start at the end of the season'') and you enter yourself into a **** storm. So well done to them for that.
-
The club started that speculation by freely announcing that there will be a fire sale. They've played this like amateur idiots and have created this complete media hive, and to be in this position - after our best ever PL season - to have players saying they don't know what the future holds, is nothing short of a shambles. What a waste of a great opportunity, just tossed into the open sea. Someone needs to get a flaming grip on it.
-
If you were trying to come back and hope no one noticed, then you've failed as you're spouting the same crap.
-
That's what he said after the Man U game, it's clear that the project is not to his taste. Will probably not be to many of our tastes to be honest.
-
The first concrete confirmations of an approach across all mediums. Notably the BBC who held back for a while, and then put it as their front page story. It's clearly happening, just a matter of the announcement now.
-
Yes, bring back the stripes, club ties and fans on the board. Go team saints.
-
In a time of meltdown, you are the poster to bring a smile to the masses
-
He should be stopped from buying anyone from his former club. A board and club management with any balls would ensure that was the case, sadly they probably don't have a clue and are still wandering around the board room talking to themselves.
-
All over the BBC now, think this thread can be made a sticky and renamed
-
Probably interviewing some Hockey managers out there.
-
He has one year remaining on his Southampton contract but wanted answers from the new board over the direction of the club before committing his future. "It's up to the board to discuss with me the new project that will be in place for next season," Pochettino told BBC South Today on 9 May. "It's not up to me to decide when those talks will happen." Nice one Ralph.
