I can't imagine our bench will include the likes of Lee Molyenux, Ryan Smith, Paul Wotton, Tommy Forecast, Gasmi or Lancashire - so no, this won't be the worst bench we've put out for a professional game.

Is that before, or after we implode?

That's a big vote of no-confidence! He's a nutter and the club should look to get rid in the next few days. Come back Inter.....

I don't think they've ever been the sort to flash the money around, I believe that ML left a pot of money for the club - which he entrusted Cortese to use. His untimely death lead to that being transferred into a trust fund as such, but it wasn't a bottomless pit and you'd have to say that over £70m spent in the last 2 seasons has probably eaten away at a good deal (and that's not including wages, the staplewood redevelopment etc). At the end of the day the pot of money was to be used to progress the club in the short term and to enable us to stand on our own 2 feet, it did that and we're now at a level which I think is a true reflection of the club. I remember ML's comments when he first arrived, his seemed to believe that we should be a Top 10 PL club - which we are. The CL stuff was always a pipe dream and would never have been achieved with the backing of the family, if we wanted to move to that level then we'd need a Man City style takeover. Overall we need to look at it as we're not in trouble, we're secure, stable and have a fantastic infrastructure which wasn't here 3 or 4 years ago. Our upward curve was always going to take a slope down at some point, and it looks like the next 12-18 months will be that down point, but the practices and infrastructure put in place over the last 5 years should ensure that it's not too huge a slope.

Doubt he'd be risked this weekend whatever happened. But it is a worry for Arsenal, as he was genuinely limping a bit at the end.
-
I'd say as a player, if anything, you'd be more worried about the ownership of the club. The same people own us at the end of the day, so in that sense not a great deal should change. The figurehead may have gone, but the people defining the stability and financial security of the club are still there. And KL hasn't done anything wrong thus far, business as usual in the most part.

Really disappointing news. He'd be my runner up for player of the season, just behind Lallana. We're going to feel it with him not playing for that period of time, and if we don't strengthen slightly in this window, then I can't see us finishing too far away from where we finished last year, which after the start we had is a damn wasted season you'd have to say. Let's just hope we can have a cup run to bring a bit of excitement back!

Quick replacement for Mata. But I'd agree, don't see him getting a great deal of game time. He's a class player, always hoped we had an eye on him - quite a decent fee too. They've had a great window really. circa £50m+ in, £30m odd out.

lol @ the suggestions of a sword anyway! Hopefully Inter rekindle the loan bid.

I said the other day, Glasgow is having a nightmare lately.
-
The problem is - it's not a one off. He's been known for this at all his previous clubs, and he's now brought that here as well. I was open minded about him, I thought he'd take his chance and be a top PL starter. But he's shown nothing since he's been here, and his only impacts have been suspensions and alterations. Can't really be taking his side on any of this.

Slight OTT.

Rumour popped up on twitter suggesting that Fonte had been injured from this, but it has now oddly vanished...
-
Gordon Simpson @gordonsimpson Osvaldo suspended 2 weeks by #saintsfc. Incident at training ground, understood to involve Jose Fonte. No action to be taken against Fonte.

Was actually said in jest!

I do get the feeling that this is a new level of openness at the club. The club would have probably just covered this up before.
-
Doubt it. He's just a nutter, would have happened if we still had Cortese I imagine. With his history at Roma i wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt here, but what a disappointment.
-
Does anyone get the feeling that the club is in meltdown...?!?!?! He has been nothing but a complete and utter failure for us. So disappointed with him. So much worse than Gaston in the fact that he should be at a level to produce, he's not a young player trying to learn. First out of the door in the summer hopefully.
-
I think their top 4 challenge will be long way finished by then, 5th is the highest they can get this year in my opinion. Liverpool and Spurs are just a level above them squad wise at this moment in time.
-
I think Mata is the type of player they're lacking, they don't really have a true number 10 in there. But they also need some top class support behind him, at least 1 new CM...but probably 2. I'd also say they need a new top, top, top CB. and a new Top class left back, experienced and mature. They don't need a complete rebuild, but they're lacking 3-4 top class players in that spine.
-
I can't believe how bad Utd are this year. Utter fodder.
-
So much is going to change this summer. I don't think the talk will be about players coming in for the most part, that's for sure!
-
Serving his notice I expect.
-
Jay is probably worth in the 7-10m bracket, wouldn't expect to get much more than what we paid at this stage. Potentially will be worth more though.

People are trying to guess way too much to suit their own personal feeling. But it's a CEO, why the hell are some people using the words ''Underwhelmed'' for a CEO? Seriously?
