Darren Kenton. My god, he was off the scale ****e. Honorable mentions to Jordan Robertson, remember him? Bar a goal against Norwich, he was simply horrific in everything he did. Got locked up shortly after leaving us as well, don't think it was for crimes against football though. Lancashire was pretty embarrassing and I'd also have to add Skacel as well, a complete let-down in every single way. Barley contributed in the time he was here, bar a goal here and there. £1.6m too much.

I can't. Luton were pretty massive for L2 as well, yet look where they ended up. And obviously Bradford City as well. They have absolutely nothing. Will be hard for them to gather any momentum.
-
Knowing that it only gets better from here.

He has been an absolute disaster for QPR this year, complete and utter tosh in every game he's played. Ask any QPR fan. Don't go anywhere near him please.

Our effort in the championship was incredible, and to do it with the basis of our L1 squad was even better. We just looked like we were in the groove from day 1, and never, ever looked back. Easily the best side in that league, just a shame our final position wasn't a fair reflection. Completely unexpected really, at best I was hoping for a playoff push. I guess that makes me a smalltime fan!

Very good news. It's now a long, long, long way back for them. Can't see them at a decent level for decades to be honest.

Worst case scenario there, and that even gives us 42 points. No danger there.

Andy Carroll, has somehow, got into the team of the week. What do people actually see in him? I think he's complete turd. Poor touch, and no balance. He did nothing on saturday to change my opinion of him. In fact it actually made a stronger case for it. Wow, he scored a goal and everyone goes over the top about it. It's his 6th of the season and he is a £35m striker. Pretty atrocious return really. Good to see Clyne get in at RB, thought he had a very handy game -
If you could get one play in now who would it be? Realistic options

Slightly out of budget I'd think! -
Which isn't actually possible, as they have to play each other. So you're right, complete nonsense as usual. We must be close to mathematical safety, but I'm not clever enough to work out all the permutations.

Loic Remy. In fact, my summer business would be - Loic Remy (offer us options down the flanks, as well as through the middle. Sheer pace and power) Davide Astori (Real class and ability on the left side of defense. Would be a straight upgrade) Emmerson Boyce (A real all-rounder. Can play right back, left back, centre back, DM, Right midfield.). All squads need a player like him and I don't think we have that. I also really rate him, has never looked out of place for Wigan. -
Look at all the teams in between us and the bottom 3 as well, and our extra goal difference. And the games that Wigan actually have remaining. If we lose every single game between now and the end of the season by heavy margins, then we may be in trouble. But I see no evidence of anything like that occurring.

We've pulled away, there's no worry any more. Don't stress yourself worrying over the other results. We're fine.

That Reading v QPR game will be like a cup final for who finishes bottom.

10 points adrift, 15 to play for. Should be confirmed within the next couple of weeks, although if we're honest they're already long gone. Just waiting for the rubber stamp.
-
This is a bit of a nightmare weekend if you're a Wigan fan. Getting cut adrift. Would rather have the points on board, rather than games in hand. That's f'sure. This is also well and truly goodbye to Saggychops.

They haven't been to fratton then. Or Boro - now that ground is in a proper ugly location, horrible. The key with our ground and the future of it, is the purchase of the land and industrial units around it. If we can do that, which I'm sure we'll be looking to do, we could make every attractive looking complex. Location wise, it's good. Not far from the main train station, main bus routes and close to all the pubs and clubs. Not forgetting the potential to have a rail link right next to the stadium. The last thing I want is a stadium smack bang in the middle of no where, ala Brighton.

£12m rising to £15m based on all sorts. -
The pitch is turfed up most pre-seasons, they still manage to have it sorted for friendlies though. The under-soil heating is physically in place, the connectivity isn't though. And it won't require the pitch to be dug up to have that put on. For a club like us, home friendlies during pre-season are an important bit of income.

Not sure where Millwall get their reputation from.

Not nice, hope they get caught. -

He scored a goal, but his overall performance still flatters to deceive for me. Gives the ball away too easily, not strong enough when in possession, set pieces are absolutely horrific from anywhere on the pitch. There's no doubt that there is a good player in there, but you can't deny that he's struggling to adapt. I don't know if it's blind faith that we keep looking forward to seeing him next year or not, but surely he can only get better? Decent enough goal return, but in terms of a 90min contribution from a £15m signing, it hasn't been enough this year. -

I think he's still in Clyne's pocket. I hope he gave him back before the WHU coach left. -
Good time to play them. They should finish top half, they have a cup win and European football already sorted for next year. Zilch to play for in terms of their season. Mentally, no matter how often they say they want to finish as well as they can etc, you do drop off. When you have pretty much nothing to aim for competitively then you do drop off mentally, there's' no doubt about that Reckon we could get a nice win there.

If only football was that cut and dry.
