  1. Don't think Larsson would add much to us if I'm honest. He's slow as ****, and for me our summer recruitment program needs to include a little more pace throughout the spine. There honestly isn't anyone in their side who I like the look of. I think they're a squad full of ****, he should be given a medal for putting together such an average team of cloggers.
  2. Apparently no one, the assistant will become the interim appointment. Seems to be be that O'Neil quit, as opposed to them sacking him after reading a few of their forums.
  3. What an absolute mentalist time to do it. They're gone.
  4. If Jay Bothroyd can play for England whilst at Cardiff in the NPC, then so can Rickie Lambert.
  5. Has always been a class act. Will play for England.
  6. Goodnight Reading.
  7. Wow, I didn't expect us to be as sharp as that after an international break! But we completely caught an under strength Chelsea team off guard in that first half. They had their spell in the 2nd half, but that was as good defensively as we've been all season. Exceptional display of positioning and heading from the center backs, especially Yoshida who had Torres for lunch today (what a shadow of a player he looks these days). Can't help feeling slightly deflated by Wigans result, but we have just dragged everyone into this from 10th downwards. Who would have thought Stoke would be in trouble a few months back? I can't remember the bottom of the PL being as condensed as this for years. I think we've lost 2 teams though on the back of today, can't see anyway back for Reading what so ever. They're gone as far as I'm concerned bar the shouting. QPR need to beat Fulham, if they don't then they're also long gone. Who knows who fills that last spot? Pretty confident it won't be us if we continue to play with that intensity though.

For me, It would have to be the line ''And Southampton are running riot at Wembley!" It was a great day out. Remember packing on the 7:10 train from Soton Central, absolutely rammed and had to stand up all the way there, but you just didn't give a damn as everyone just joined in the atmosphere. Probably the most enjoyable 2 hour train journey I'll ever have standing up! It may be seen as a Micky mouse cup, but it simply equates to one of the best away days I've ever had as a saints fan.
  9. Nice to see he's still reading off exactly the same script.
  10. Was great in his prime, one of my favorite players back in the day. I actually feel that at one stage, albeit a short period, he was the best striker in Europe and a proper ''world class'' English player, which is so few and far between these days to be honest. Owen >>>>>> Sturridge....Wellbeck.....say no more.
  11. I would sign Figueroa as another option at LB, for sure. Wouldn't say no to Simpson and Hangeland either, as that would add real quality and competition across the back 4. Brunt will sign at WBA, but I think he'd be great here. A really good footballer.
  12. Seriously, who gives a ****?
  13. Post of the year, for all the wrong reasons!
  14. Pretty rubbish day results wise. That Wigan result just pulls a hell of a lot of teams right back into it. Although it's starting to look as if Reading and QPR are being pretty much cut adrift now.
  15. Sunderland look dross.
  16. They do, but boy don't they live in the past! That's what bugs me about them.
  17. errr, ok then. How about you just **** off from this forum?
  18. Now that's pretty cool. Nice effort!
  19. I think Reading are dreadful and they don't worry me in the slightest. They have no quality in that side for this level of football.
  20. He's never been that good defensively has he? I always see him caught out, and he grabs the spotlight for his runs and spectacular goals. But defensively he's always been distinctly average
  21. I never understood the stick he got at the start, literally weeks into his time here. People never learn.
  22. Not sure what's funny about that. It's spot on.
  23. I thought we were very impressive today. We started with an intensity and drive which was missing from our previous two games. I don't think Liverpool were expecting what we did to them, and if we're honest - we well and truly battered them today. The midfield ran the show. Take a bow Cork and Morgan - in my opinion the best midfield partnership in the premier league, they have everything about them. They compliment each other so well, they have this telepathic understanding and they just know where each other will be. It's magic to watch when it works as it allows us to control the entire game. I've always liked Jack Cork, but this season he has gone further up in my estimations. I think he's turning into a top premiership midfielder and it will not be long until he's in the reckoning for the England Squad. But what more can you say about Morgan? The guy just oozes class with every, single touch of the ball. Technically he's probably our best footballer and I'd bracket him in the upwards of £20m price bracket now. I think he's that good. The front 2 caused problems all game and I thought that was one of Jay's best performances in a Southampton shirt. When he's good, he's very, very good. His pace, technique and movement is up there with some of the best English strikers, and when he's on his game he can be unplayable which he was at times today. Lallana was back to his best, jinking, dropping his shoulder, putting in some telling deliveries and causing havoc down either flank all afternoon long. Welcome back Adam! The full backs were also superb, so much so that I'd put that down as Clyne's best performance for us, I thought he was outstanding for the entire match. Unbeatable. Same can be said for Shaw, although he's setting that level for himself now. Overall a really, really enjoyable afternoon. We tried to make it difficult for ourselves for a period but we were always in control of that and no one can deny that we deserved all 3 points. We're edging ourselves away from danger and I don't see many teams below us with the quality we have. Still enough games for it to go either way though so we can't count our chickens just yet, but today was an almighty step to survival.
  24. It's a fair point, would probably be pushed to go for option e to be honest (away from home)
  25. Those player ratings are always tosh. Never based on anything other than a few numbers plucked from the sky.
