We should have been 7 up at half time
-
Agreed, fucking abysmal every single one of those cunts Chances missed were criminal Whole lot of them can fuck off
-
He's not great but he's no worse than Baz in my opinion
-
Well they won and missed a pen so sure they'll take that , we'll definitely need Downes back to stand a chance there on Tuesday
-
Leicester look decent as well though, think they'll win this , reminder of what a tough game it will be on Tuesday as well
-
I agree, I'm 6ft 2 bloke and find it a squeeze sat down depending on who I'm next to, not enough leg room, find it much much more comfortable standing at games, think St Mary's must have been designed for the average fan being 5ft 8 and slim as width of seats isn't that big.
-
Flynn Downes was at the West Ham game on Thursday night, seems a bit odd to travel to that if he should have been resting, assume Saints travelled to Wales on Friday
-
The players with "illness" , bit vague, bet they'll actually be available by tomorrow, but like you say without knowing their squad well it's hard to know significance anyway. Ng and Ramsey are names I'd expect to be in first XI though.
-
We've fallen for that one before, 12 sounds like a lot out, but how many of them are regular starters? I remember playing Palace away when they had no recognised defenders fit and we managed to lose 1-0 , but all helps. On paper a team with nothing to play for with players missing gives Martin a perfect opportunity to enjoy a visit back to South Wales.

The allowance to introduce safe standing has resulted in a few clubs moving around supporters, we're certainly not alone in this, Stoke also moving away fans https://www.stokecityfc.com/news/2024/april/18/24-25-stadium-configuration-plans-confirmed/

Yeah it still seems very unlikely for us to get automatic, need too much to go our way still
-
McCarthy might have had poor games , but he's also been our player of the season in the Premier league and played for England, don't underestimate that experience in high pressure games, I don't necessarily see it as a downgrade having him instead of Baz.
-
Always a good away day, crossing the border into foreign lands, hearing train announcements in Welsh, all gives it an extra edge. Martin had a decent record against them with Swansea, hope he can carry that on. Everyone will be watching Leicester v WBA in the lunchtime kick off.
-
Never a red, can't understand that.
-
That's because its live on sky isn't it?
-
They are, but Preston have had to play the same schedule since Good Friday so it's no different for them and if anything should give us an advantage with strength in depth in the squad. 29 March - Preston 3-0 Rotherham 01 April - Birmingham 1-0 Preston 06 April - Watford 0-0 Preston 09 April - Preston 4-1 Huddersfield 13 April - Preston 0-1 Norwich They seem a hard team to predict, never know what you're going to get in this league.

Yeah I meant drop points before we play Leeds , still tempted to buy a Leeds ticket in case it does somehow come down to that game although still unlikely.
-
Waiting until after Tuesdays game to decide on that, still think we'll drop too many points before then. Great scenes though, quite a few had left before goal went in to beat the traffic, madness.
-
About 380 home end tickets left including some in block 43 as Watford only given 2000 allocation. Should sell out by kick off easily, good numbers. Watford only sold 1,750 so will be a few empty in their end, block 44.
-
I wouldn't put too much thought into that scenario, Tuesdays result v Coventry was good but far from convincing and I haven't seen anything that's made me think this side is about to go on a 7 game winning run. Watford looked very well organised in recent games and are set up in such a way that i think we'll struggle to break them down, think this will be more like last weekends performance at Blackburn. Leicester and Leeds play before we do, so if by some miracle both of them slip up again I expect hopes to rise pre-match just in time to be dashed again.
-
I think you can start the Saints v WBA play off build up thread now.
-
At the time I thought it must be tight as looked like Cov had a couple of defenders on the line playing him onside , hard to tell in real time, need to draw some lines
-
Definitely his best performance for us, transformed player from last season and now a crucial element of our team.
-
Agree, I'd say Brooks should have scored at least one and we could have been out of sight. Invited trouble a bit at times trying to be clever but overall decent performance I thought Coventry were a good side and probably loudest away fans we've had at St Mary's for a while, good effort from them.

You can watch on the Saints website for a tenner mate, invite the neighbours round and split the cost ha
