"Which four players would make Saints fans least likely to make a last min decision to attend the match"
-
I'd be surprised. Saints usually give a clue to who is starting in the pre-match graphic, could be treated to an Aribo / Walcott / Maitland-Niles masterclass tonight
-
Leicester looked really poor for most of the game last night..... so we all know how that will go on Saturday
-
Love the spontaneous pitch invasion, no wait for a VAR check in those days , magic of the cup
-
Yeah of course, hope they have a good trip with their haddocks but want us to batter them. Had a think and other memorable away followings here I'll go with Hapoel Beersheeva brought a good 1800 over from Israel in Europa league, probably keep them on top spot for now. Here's a bit of Saints FA Cup magic to get in the mood for the game
-
Honestly in terms of distance travelled, midweek, on tv, as a % of their average home crowd this has to be the most impressive following to ever come to St Mary's , almost want them to win after all that effort
-
Completely agree, I work for a chap who follows Republic of Ireland home and away, his opinion is Gav isn't ready and should have had another season or two at league one / championship level, all feels a bit rushed for a player who still has a lot of developing to do.
-
I think it shows that our negative tactics are set up to protect our keeper, we've lost SO MANY games by a single goal, we're too scared to attack as we don't want to leave gaps at the back and risk the opponents having an opportunity as good chance they'll score from it.
-
We still have to play them away as well, just a shame our record up there isn't quite as good! Looking at the Leicester game this weekend, have we ever lost 6 straight home league games in a row? Could be another record breaking season
-
Luton are only a few places below us in the league and Grimsby knocked them out last round so definitely not a foregone conclusion. Ticket sales still look terrible, I doubt the board care but they should take note in this round last year we had 28,383 at home to West Ham , will be a good 10k less a year later, a lot of fans giving up.
-
This was how the conversation began..... no one seems to enjoy going and you can see why from the results/ lack of goals .
-
Actually makes sense to give Onuachu and Sulemana a chance to build an understanding and maybe even score a goal. Leave Ballard and Dibling to focus on FA Youth Cup on Thursdays trip to Preston, they've done well would be a shame to go out of that competition missing some of their better players with the first team

Was discussing this at the weekend with a couple of fellow Saints season ticket holders, is it any wonder the atmosphere at St Mary's is so flat when our home results in last 12 months are as bad as this, got to be the worst home record in the entire football league 10 March - Newcastle lost 1-2 13 March - Watford lost 1-2 09 April - Chelsea lost 0-6 16 April - Arsenal - WON 1-0 30 April - Palace lost 1-2 17 May - Liverpool lost 1-2 13 Aug - Leeds draw 2-2 27 Aug - Man Utd lost 0-1 31 Aug - Chelsea WON 2-1 01 Oct - Everton lost 1-2 16 Oct - West Ham draw 1-1 23 Oct - Arsenal draw 1-1 06 Nov - Newcastle lost 1-4 26 Dec - Brighton lost 1-3 04 Jan - Nottm Forest lost 0-1 21 Jan - Villa lost 0-1 11 Feb - Wolves lost 1-2 04 March - Leicester ????

For once I don't think we will, they have 4800 allocation so for once there's more than enough to cover away demand, even with a late rush I can't see them bringing more than 4300 so will be quite a few empty in away end , will be nice to not have away fans cheering in home end for once - another reason to go 👍
-
It's a tough one, get where you're coming from but I've always loved the fa cup, under the lights, big away following, a game we actually might win (who knows, against 16th in League Two we have a chance) , personally I'm now looking forward to it and feel it's a shame for Grimsby that there best cup run in years will be in front of thousands of empty seats....silly kick off time but we can't complain about devaluing the competition when fans don't bother to turn up anyway
-
We all must have done something bad in a past life to be lumbered with being Saints fans in this one
-
No his limited Villa minutes included playing against and losing to league two Stevenage
-
Agree, I found some of the excitement and hype around Selles over the last week a bit odd, yes the Chelsea result was good and maybe our fans were desperate to like someone after the Jones debacle but ultimately Selles doesn't have management experience and has been prominent member of coaching team during terrible runs with Ralph and Jones.
-
I don't think we'll see many youngsters, there's a FA Youth Cup 1/4 final away to Preston on Thursday evening they'll mostly be involved in that. Agree mostly with that team, probably rest Perraud and have Djenepo left back, shame we can't play Bree, I think Aribo and Walcott will get some minutes should be about their level
-
Janny B seems to be first choice at the moment, at least he can't play on Wednesday as cup tied
-
Selles basically confirmed we will rotate but seeing how bad the first XI are I doubt we'll be much weaker. If fit Mara, A. Armstrong, Edozie , Diallo Alcaraz, Djenepo, Caleta-Car , Salisu, McCarthy will feature
-
TWO home wins in 12 months apparently, we've been awful for ages
-
Called this early on, something stinks about the transfer fee for a youngster from league one
-
Selles Out
-
Unbelievable support coming down from Grimsby, my estimate is we've only sold about 8-9k home end tickets so far, hopefully will shift a few more before Wednesday night, I'm sure we will if we get a decent result at Leeds today
