Relegation - What two teams do we take with us
JRM replied to Lee On Solent Saint's topic in The Saints
Bit of a journey but all three of those good, we always used to take loads on the train to Ipswich was a popular trip, would be ironic if Luton go up and pass us after the Nathan Jones episode, a trip to Kenilworth Road would be good love looking at people's washing on the line on the way into the away end. Millwall seem to be giving teams both upper and lower tiers now if away demand is there would be a good one. -
Are they? Not sure especially when you look at 2 going up and 3 going down Tickets not necessarily more expensive, a mate of mine follows Reading and they offer £20 with any team who will reciprocate, they are not a fashionable team but seem to get fair prices at most aways.

Because he's a Saints legend who will feel an affinity with the club

Fair choices mate. Most of the division looks decent for away trips, i reckon we'd take good numbers to QPR, Bristol City, Coventry, Reading, not been to Stoke or Birmingham City for a while, the more i think about it the Championship has a lot to look forward to for away days , WBA for a curry as well. -
This 1-0 defeat along with the Leeds and Nottm Forest 1-0 defeats highlight how well deserved our relegation is, opportunity against another side in the bottom 3 and we consistently fail to take it.

I've not gone back and read it but I'm sure I said at the time the 8/10 window was the biggest nonsense I'd heard for ages, mostly untested youngsters who we had no idea if they could step up to mens football let alone Premier league, a lot of people allowed themselves to fall into the trap of equating signings from Man City as top players when the likes of Bazunu, Edozie and Larios were complete unknowns at this level. Lavia was as well to be fair, but overall return on investment for transfers has been abysmal , Joe Shields probably did well out of it though.

I'd like to see them try charging £89 for Kingsland premium block 31 in the Championship 😂

It was only two points for a win in those days as well so a lot of points to go down with, think we were also relegated whilst also having the divisions top scorer, has that ever happened again? Coincidently we also won away at Goodison that season , must be a bad omen. -
Strange one really, Man City play Bayern Munich a few days later but they will go at us early on and I think likely we'll crumble. Make the most of such games don't miss the chance to make a Haaland can I have your shirt sign , won't get the opportunity for a while

I'll go with that, would be good to get one more visit to Goodison before they leave and quite funny if that's in the championship. Bournemouth as well , think decent chance the Skates come up that's couple of local derbies for us. -
I agree to be honest, he's been there with a prominent role the whole of this sorry season, obvious the recruitment team take huge slice of blame for all the duds we've wasted money on but Selles played his part and needs to go.
-
Real shame, in the earlier rounds Ballard and Morgan were strongest players and now have neither
-
Assume we put out a very young side but can't be good for their development , massive game coming up on Thursday in FA Youth Cup semi final hopefully we can give that a decent go
-
Following a predictable pattern unfortunately
-
Completely agree, don't think St Mary's will ever feel the same as The Dell to me, those were the days, few pints in the Bedfords or Cricketers, stop for one more at the Fitzhugh, good times.
-
Any news on his injury? We've got West Ham away in FA Youth Cup semi final in a few days , could do with Ballard for that
-
I was thinking considering that was 22 years ago it doesn't look that much different to now!
-
So no ABK, Salisu and Adams are doubtful from what I hear, do we try AMN at centre back again? I think Adams is a big miss if he does miss out, not sure if we go with Tall Paul , Armstrong or Mara
-
To be honest I just look forward to being able to celebrate a goal properly again
-
I want us to stay up. I expect us to go down based on games I've seen in the last 12 months. We generally need a clean sheet to just stand a chance of winning. I we do happen to go there are some positives, loads I dislike about the Premier league so won't miss VAR and all that nonsense.
-
Agree I'd have him and Romeu for top buys per pound
-
It wasn't hopeless straight away, I'm sure I remember we made the play offs
-
I'm afraid the table will look even worse after this weekend , Bournemouth to beat Fulham who are missing a few suspended Forest to get at least a point v Wolves Palace v Leicester- one or both of our rivals to pick up at least a point Everton to get at least a point against rudderless Spurs West Ham will beat us 2-0 , Ings with at least one of them , we'll gift them one
-
The locals there don't tend to support the national team, think the Napoli ultras gave it a swerve, various mates out there all had a good time , just a few issues getting in the ground
