Ipswich away to Barnsley will be tough but yeah could be done
-
They just love playing in the Papa John's Trophy, can't bring themselves to leave that level. The promotion race from that division has been fascinating , looks like Plymouth and Ipswich should make it but could be another twist

There's two ways to look at it I think, from a Wrexham perspective it's a great story, poor town down on its luck, high unemployment, football team with proud history stuck in non league for 15 years and in true Hollywood style their saviours appear, its taken them longer than expected to get out of the division but they seem to be there for the long term project and have done a lot for the town. That pub next to the ground gets tourists visiting every day of the week. For the other clubs in the division they must be fed up with them, playing budget vastly exceeding what others have , basically like putting a league one team into a division two beneath them. It has brought a lot more attention to the National League so other teams could have benefited with increased crowds themselves, try to use it to their advantage. Notts County should come up as well, wouldn't be surprised if both sides then go straight through league two next season.

Some interesting viewpoints on the game from an Arsenal perspective

Unfortunately expect this to be more like the Crystal palace game than the Arsenal one. If Bournemouth win at home against West Ham this weekend the pressure will be off them. Anyone know if their fans are planning a bucket collection before the game? Give generously , Save the Cherries

Man City seem to have appreciated our efforts https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-city-arsenal-southampton-title-26756270?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button#amp-readmore-target

I thought he did well calmly time wasting amidst the pressure of the Arsenal fans getting on his back

Hard to know how to view it this morning, positive that we finally showed some fight and gave it a real go, or in some ways does that make all the other pathetic performances even worse knowing the players have it in them when they want to. No one I spoke to at half time thought we'd hold on at 2-1 so I guess we should be pleased with the point and the performance but it's hard to take throwing away a 2 goal lead in the 88th min Thought our support was excellent mostly, couldn't bring myself to join in with the poznan though

I think Shane Long took the CD with him

Agree felt like a defeat at the end
-
Just saying the same thing, exactly the same as 04/05 collapse at the end and chuck it away, gutting, had just allowed myself a bit of hope. Arsenal fans to the right of us some of the mouthiest I've seen, lovely to put a dent in their title hopes and at least one of them will regret leaning over so close to the away end celebrating their 3rd
-
Let's do this. Last minute winner, Tall Paul volley from edge of the box, hits underside of the cross bar and in, away end goes mad , Tall Paul jumps in with fans. Arsenal leave the pitch to sound of boos ringing in their ears as home fans react to shock result.

There's no requirement to get there early, they are usually quite slow searching fans at Arsenal by away bit but never seems to take more than 5-10 mins
-
It's not going to be far far worse is it. Depending on who else gets relegated we won't be an obvious choice for tv pick unless doing well. Look at recent fixtures moved Man Utd - because they were in Europa league Newcastle away as we both play Thurs before for some reason. Brighton - because their rearranged midweek game v Newcastle can't clash with champions league so playing on a Thursday pushing our game to Sunday We won't have games moved for nonsense like that
-
Exactly, doesn't seem like any of those people did a great job based on where we are. Steele seemed clueless with some of his comments about fans, no idea if he was any good at his actual job
-
It's because Brighton are playing the Thursday before, nothing to do with police advice or anything like that. It's rubbish though, trains via Clapham Sunday lunchtime game not very appealing, we've had a terrible run of away days to end our season; Man Utd away Sunday lunchtime West Ham away Sunday lunchtime Arsenal away Friday night Newcastle away Sunday lunchtime Nottm Forest away Monday night Brighton Sunday lunchtime Bring on the championship

I think Selles is more deluded than Jones
-
Away tickets are 'capped at £30, but Arsenal have Cat A, B, C, games, for A and B lower tier home end tickets are a lot more but away is limited to £30. As we're a Cat C game home end corners are £27 so we benefit from paying that as well

There are similarities, port city with the football club central to its identity and pride. Our mafia aren't quite as active though. Forza Southampton
-
Go for it mate, very accessible. I went with a few others in 2009 I think, late January flights and hotels were cheap and match tickets easy to get, might need to plan ahead a bit more now they are doing well but well worth the trip. Proper football culture in the city, plenty more to do whilst there, breakfast overlooking the sea with a cappuccino and a copy of Gazetta dello sport

Those knobheads down the road are desperate to relegate us on the 27th, hope we don't give them the pleasure , remember the whip rounds we had to "save the cherries"
-
I think for a while Broja provided adequate replacement for Ings and gave us a proper goal threat , shame he lost it towards the end of last season and we had no replacement
-
Be careful what you wish for?? Hasenhuttl v Jones v Selles
JRM replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
Good point, go back and watch last seasons goals, what a player Broja was in some of the games, definitely added quite a few points to our tally and we never replaced him.
