It is mate 👍 He is well connected there, he told me this morning we'd made an approach and Jones wants the job , unless Saints have approached other clubs at the same time it sounds like this is moving fast. His opinion, he's been brilliant for Luton but not sure he's the right man for us.

My Luton mate sent me this, he loves a chest pump with the fans https://mobile.twitter.com/gracust/status/909086822856380416/video/1

A good mate of mine has connections at Luton within the club, sounds like it's a done deal
-
Did well at Luton, failed at Stoke, did well at Luton again, probably the right level / club for him.

My frustration is not directed at Bazunu, it's not his fault, but the whole Saints recruitment philosophy trying to be clever thinking we can buy youngsters, drop them in the deep end and grow their value ready to go back to market and sell them for a profit , can work for other positions but we're asking young Gav to make a huge step up in a position where there is little protection and I think we over paid for a player with only league one experience. As a team we score so few goals our main hope of getting 3 points is to win 1-0 but we always look like conceding

Tobys answer will be to make the Northam stand a neutral section to accommodate the many southern based people who support glory hunting premier league clubs keen to attend games at St Mary's Sums up our club , soft touch
-
Angus Gunn similarities being mentioned again Would have been fine signing for £2M, Man City saw us coming Joe Shields got us paying big bucks for someone who had played for Skates and Rochdale FFS

Another thoroughly depressing afternoon to add to our collection of depressing afternoons , truly awful

Alternative theory - Ralph is resting players for the more winnable fixture on Wednesday night

Surely left back is left footed Perraud no point playing him out of position as well?
-
Newcastle have looked quite a physical side, I look at our team can't see who will match them
-
Weak in all departments, still can't get my head round all the fans giving out 8/10 transfer window ratings then you look at what we have on the pitch Hope they can surprise us today
-
Was really hoping for Lavia back, feels like he's been out for ages now , can't see us winning many 50/50 balls with that lineup
-
I think Larios bit lightweight at the back and Walcott definitely too lightweight in attack, 0-3 defeat looking at both line ups, rate their keeper to keep a clean sheet
-
Proper Leicester at home 0-9 rain at the moment
-
Blimey I remember watching that starting to dream of our title win, we then went on a Nicholl style winless run didn't we
-
He's going to miss out on the world Cup which is going to be hard for him to take I think

It's a ghost?! Representing the dead labourers?

Worth a fortune if it's complete, the tournament had such an impact years later I had a go at seeing a game at each host venue, managed Rome, San Siro, Della Alpi, Florence, Bologna (probably my favourite) Napoli, Genoa, Verona but never got round to the rest. Most of the stadiums still exactly as they were in 1990.

Would be funny if they pan over to England section and they're just singing Qatar is a shithole I wanna go home
-
Completely agree I was 9, Italia 90 the music the warm weather, I loved watching the games in the evening then heading into school to recreate the goals next morning, had a Complete ring binder collection thing that had to be bought in parts for weeks building up to World Cup, it was also at the end of 89/90 season when watching Saints had been brilliant as well but all felt magic.

They're a shambles, seems like it gets worse each season Understandable no bus drivers would want overtime when Saints v Newcastle is on the box though

Some thoughts from the Geordies featuring obligatory "I've got tickets in the home end" posts we've become used to https://newcastle-online.org/topic/37517-southampton-vs-newcastle-united-61122-2pm-sky-sports/

Was definitely the night the Archers Road really took off as our "home end" , brilliant atmosphere, block 4 and 5 drowning out away fans that were tucked away in lower East corner was a great few last years at The Dell
