Those who fancy Gunn as a sweeper keeper have got short memories. His decision-making coming off his line was woeful and he got caught out a few times. Fair enough. You are of course correct, but it is sad that public comment has to be so sanitised these days. I think Lineker’s tweets are as ill-informed as Matty’s, but I don’t see him being vilified. I’m not knocking anyone in particular but there is a degree of double standards.

But I’ve never seen you moan about Lineker’s tweets slagging off Brexit or offering lodgings to illegal immigrants. Maybe it should only be ex-footballers with a different point of view to you that should stay off social media.
