  1. Was talking to a Pompey supporting solicitor yesterday who is absolutely convinced they'll be gone before the new year. This could be the best Christmas ever.
  2. Do people actually get paid to prove/disprove this twaddle?
  3. Dear mr judge, any chance of stringing this out for another 28 days, so I can afford to buy my son the GI Joe with the Kung Fu grip for Christmas. Love Trevor
  4. I disagree, we're short of quality competition for the wide positions, and Lallana's untimely injury merely highlights that.
  5. Ramirez on the left with Ricky and Jay up front, or Puncheon on the left, Guly/Chaplow on the right with Ramirez and Lambert up front. Come Jan 1st, just a straight swap, Lallana for Phillips.
  6. I reckon that fans who sing probably are predominantly working class. However, that doesn't make fans who don't sing 'plastic', just a bit more reserved.
  7. Poor business to sell him in the first place, but the sell on fee softens the blow a little. Good business to buy one of the most exciting young player's in the country.
  8. He looks a different player now. Wonder if it's got anything to do with his partnership with Yoshida. They both derserve a lot of credit for our defensive improvement.
  9. Cork, Shaw, Ramirez adding quality, Fonte and Yohida forming a decent partnership, and playing a 4 man midfield.
  10. Glad I continue to be proved wrong. Long may it continue. Maintain our league position until the end of the month, then strengthen the team, and we'll be ok.
  11. Mr Tickle was a f*cking nonce.
  12. Lambert will probably last longer than the average striker because his game is not centred around pace. He is working ever so hard at the moment, and is covering a lot of ground, particularly in wide areas. I would prefer him to concentrate his game more in and around the penalty area.
  13. More important for people's liberty not to be intruded by underhand Press story gathering methods. The media barons go on about freedom of the press, but they are the ones acting like draconian communist dictators. They're playing the part of the 1984 Big Brother. We need to be protected from them by legislation, not more ineffective self-regulation. The press have had their chance and spectacularly blown it. Hypocrites, and Cameron is caving because he doesn't want to upset them. Spineless.
  14. Why does having a qualification in psychology put him above others? Are you suggesting that he uses the media and interviews better than Ferguson, Redknapp, Martinez, I could go on. If we had the time, I bet most of us could read a few books and get a qualification in psychology, it's no big deal.
  15. Spot on. Difficult to sell a club to a decent player if you're nailed on to go down.
  16. I reckon we'll go back in for Matt Phillips and Biyik (although QPR are reportedly interested - hopefully by the end of the month they'll be cut adrift at the bottom). If we could get those 2, plus either Friedel or Robinson, we'll be well set for the rest of the season. Lallana and Puncheon are both doing really well at the moment, but we are very thin on the ground for quality cover in those positions. Phillips would provide the cover and competition they need.
  17. With over £10m worth of new signings on the bench week in, week out, I would have to agree with you.
  18. I reckon a kick up the arse would have been the way to go. Keep everyone on their toes for next week. I hope, privately in the dressing room, this is what he did. We need to get our level of performance back up again. We can't afford not to.
  19. Like Norwich against Man Utd and Arsenal? Or Swansea today? Very defeatist.
  20. I can understand him not starting games, but he has been underused as a sub. Perfect partner for Lambert or Rodriguez with his pace, or even in front of Gaston.
  21. I reckon we need 9 points. Beat Reading, Sunderland and Fulham, then going into a transfer window we'll have enough for a top 17 place.
  22. When you take into account Liverpool's Europa Cup game, they're the ones who should be tired.
  23. I think it's more about the unscrupulous methods the press use to get their evidence.
  24. The press are banging on about freedom of speech etc. But what about the rights of every individual not to be the subject of spying techniques that wouldn't have looked out of place in communist Russia 30 years ago. The press had their chance of self-regulation and have spectacularly blown it. Cameron would really go down in my estimation if he caved into them, and so they can't hound 1 political party, it should be an open agreement between all the Westminster parties.
