  1. I bow to the obvious expertise on this thread. But, why has it taken so long to come to this conclusion? It seems to me that this is no more than a mathematical theory, based in part, on one or two assumptions. I'm still not convinced we are being told the whole story.
  2. Nice one, cheers.
  3. What weight of kettle bell will I need. 6ft tall and about 103kgs. Average level of fitness. cheers for the advice.
  4. Actually made it to the gym today. Worked my nuts off on a full body weights circuit and thought I was going to pass out at the end. Felt good a bit later though. Going to give the 5:2 a go. Few bowls of porridge with water instead of milk should be easy enough to stick to for a couple of days a week.
  5. Good shout.
  6. Fair point. I remember us beating Man Utd at home under WGS. He made 3 substitutions, and commented afterwards that it was a 14 player game. Can see what he means now. With our high energy game, almost all games are now 14 player games. Whether the manager has the quality he needs on the bench is another question though. Personally, I think Gallagher could have been introduced earlier today. Poor old Rickie was blowing out of his arse after an hour.
  7. Great manager. Might have a Plan B in place if we have a deeper squad with the required types of players. We have had a great season. Finishing 9th would be a superb achievement in my book. Then look forward to more improvement next season. I'd give him a 5 year deal tomorrow if it was up to me. Only real problem I have with him is the still speaking Spanish in interviews.
  8. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks it was a stupid free-kick to give away. The defender was under pressure, facing his own goal, and a pointless challenge later we're defending on the edge of our box. I thought apart from that Ramirez was very good when he came on. Manager can't rate young Gallagher much. It was obvious to me that Rickie was blowing out of his arse after 65 minutes and made a lot of mistakes due to his fatigue. Lovren hasn't found any sort of form since his injury. We got out-worked today by Spurs. Doesn't happen too often.
  9. Made my blood boil Allardyce moaning about yesterday's ref on MOTD. I reckon he got the decisions right, and it's not easy to ref the diving cheating hammers.
  10. As long as the rail seats are properly stewarded, so everyone has their allocated space to themselves, I don't see the problem.
  11. Voted Labour all my life, but even I am having to have to have a real think before voting for that odious pair Milliband and Balls. If David got in, and bought James Purnell back into the front line, and replaced the hapless Balls with his missus, a Labour landslide would be all but guaranteed.
  12. Lallana looks like Del Boy with that coat on.
  13. Agreed. His current form is poor, but he has the ability to bounce back.
  14. Some people spend far too much time on here. Makes you wander how empty their real lives outside the internet are.
  15. That would be quality. It would only be my baldness preventing me from celebrating this by getting a Keegan perm. Unfortunately, I'd look more like Alan Brazil.
  16. I have very fond memories of the 80s.
  17. So what, you're at a football match.
  18. Cortese did appoint him, but he's not presently involved in football. To be honest, I'm not sure if he ever will be again. If Cortese left over budget cuts it's possible that MP will walk. I'm not sure that's the case though. It depends on what you believe. Personally, I think Cortese threw his toys out of the pram when Liebherr insisted on a better corporate structure. Where else will Cortese have the freedom to do as he wants with someone else's money. Nowhere in my opinion. He could be a long time out of the game. Can't see MP going out on a limb waiting for his next project. I really hope MP stays. Would love the club to give him a longer deal.
  19. Funny, I could have sworn that Gaston was wide right when he came on.
  20. He's been poor recently, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was dropped.
  21. I don't think it's 'not scoring'. It's more that we don't convert a high enough percentage of the numerous chances we create. That would be an interesting stat.
  22. At least Gaston was looking to go forward yesterday, on the odd occasion he was actually given the ball. Don't see it as a straight choice between him and Davis. There are other players in the side that could be dropped.
  23. Offer him a longer deal now. If he's not interested get a new manager at the end of the season. Would really like him to stay.
  24. Wouldn't bother me.
