But Chapel, he dis-regarded his core beliefs; he was a man who stated categorically that he wantedto remove the HOL: It's nothing to do with where he comes from.

I'm shocked you support that idea dune, it was in the BNP manifesto for the last election. Surely you don't want to be associated with them? I've long beleived the Oxfam slogan "Charity begins at home; what planet are you on?!" As a 'developed' country we have a duty to help those countries who need it because we sure as hell are not going to experience any earthquakes or famine anytime soon, Call me old fashioned but what is wrong with having compassion for your fellow human beings?

That design but in a variation of blue and yellow would have been better I think

You've got to be joking!! Unbelievable! Did it say when these two met?
-
And Mandy now has a book out, obviously self serving; why change a habit of a lifetime eh?
-
If he was then he would have left the party when they edited Clause 4 you absolute ****ing ****pig ****wit It's the same for all of them, new Labour does not represent the ideals the party was founded upon. Why don't you read a book once in a ****ing while?
-
What was your inane point anyway Heinrich?
-
Hahahahahahahahahahaha, oh I forgot your HND, my sincere apologies, you're a highly intelligent 'human' being. Dune, don't try and catch me out. We both know that you blame government spending for this crisis: All you've done is read my facts, thought "oh dear" and had to frantically search for another reason which initially wasn't your argument. I find it highly ironic that a fascist such as yourself is moaning about 'poor regulation' when that is something you agree with. Oh and if you're thinking 'well, I don't agree with poor regulation, I think they should be regulated' then that would make you a Nazi, and what a suprise that would be!!

Demonstrates why 'New Labour' was not a true Labour government.

I'll summarise: During the 1920s the American economy experienced a substantial period of growth, and coupled with loan repayments from WW1, the USA were 'rolling in it'. People thought they could cash in on this success and therefore prices on the stock market were inflated due to uncontrolled speculation. The bubble burst and companies and speculators were ruined. It had nothing (as I suspect you believe seeing as you seem so ready to use it as an exmaple) to do with government spending at the time because under Hoover the US believed in a Laissez-Faire policy of 'not getting involved'. The crash happened due to investors not being regulated...hmm where has this happened recently? We need a 'new deal' in this country akin to the one FDR put in place, alas, we now have a ****servative government. What was your point anyway dune? Or have I just shattered it?
-
It's nothing government investment would have changed, and we all know where this started but I won't go through all that Thatcher stuff again. Anyway, my gruel is ready...
-
That is beside the point. They were the ones who were irresponsible; speculating with money they didn't have. Now they want clemency? Disgraceful.

A Robin Hood tax would not see banks leave the city. They've had it so good for so long they can easily afford it.
-
I understand perfectly, but dune, it was your chums in the city that caused this mess. Workers in both sectors shouldn't have to suffer as a result, it is simply not fair. The banking sector should be MADE TO PAY for THERE mess, end of.
-
As expected from a troll; I predicted in an earlier post you would reply in such a manner and I am pleased to see I have been proven right. Yawn.
-
The workers in the private sector should unionise and take action, they don't have to take this **** anymore than public sector workers. We dont HAVE to accept anything our bosses pass down to us that we consider unreasonable, it's a democratic right.
-
Probably because you are feckless?
-
Urgh, this thread has a 'dune will will reply with something to do with Labour's mess blah blah blah blah blah' smell about it. I think you will be suprised though, the more this government punishes the ordinary person rather than punishing the bankers over the next few years more groups will take industrial action/to the streets in protest. We didn't cause this crisis, we shouldn't thave to pay for it.

I remember seeing the reports a year ago and could not stop smiling for the rest of the day, it was great news!
-
Can't believe this thread is a year old!! I can remember reading the opening post last year and thinking "Hopefully Pompey will cease to exist by July 8th 2010"... They are in good company I suppose, I heard this morning that Barcelona need a loan of £125m to pay their players' wages.

Incompetent teachers? What about incompetent ministers for education? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/10549400.stm

Unless the prices were ridiculous (say £40-£50) a ticket, I will go regardless. Nothing beats a matchday, however as always, I will do more away games as they are an even better crack.

I can't believe that woman gave an interview, I'd be too embarrased!

"An extra half a grade per pupil" ... but what difference will it make as, according to many, exams are getting easier anyway! :rollyeyethingy:
