Drivers who wear driving gloves - bell ends,
-
Hmm - now they will be run by a twenty something who has probably had every whim his life catered for. Now he has a country to play with.
-
Come on guys, be fair. With the thought that he may not get paid in January, he is just being prudent. Minesweeping is a recognised way to reduce the cost of a night out on the town.
-
Wasn't that the chap who got hammered and missed an important vote in the commons, or something like that. I still suspect you are not being entirely serious!!
-
Didn't think I would get a sensible answer from you.
-
Fair point, however, if pushed who would you choose?
-
So who do you think would make a good pm, and also a good Tory pm?
-
You are double counting the £10.8m. The money would be paid to csi who would then be able to pay that to chanrai. Pompey debts are £27.3m assuming that is everything.

Are we dead yet?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-16222988 Ever get the feeling that we might not get a xmas card from the French this year. Perhaps we should have a pop back, instead of rolling over. Their banks are screwed, they were downgraded last week, they have massive exposure to southern european government bonds and they are in the euro. Their cheif source of funding is their government which is facing a ratings downgrade which will significantly affect their banks ability to raise money from the state. There must be a modern day equivalent of the "up yours, delors" motto we can use.

You and Mr Milliband say that as if we had a choice. How do you know that Sarkozy wasn't saying, "This is the only deal on the table, tell us now if you are going to sign or not" This is what I suspect happened. The talks regarding a "fiscal compact" were never open to us - it was always the Treaty or nothing. That is what suited Sarkozy's domestic agenda.

If we can sell Arsenal a little starlet every couple of years for 12m then so be it.

Actually Chanrai has been pretty smart here. Through the sale of PFC and subsequent taking of a charge on CSI, he has "moved" his debt further up the chain where more assets exist. Now he has the benefit of WRC as well as any sale price they rustle up from PFC.

A keeper doesn't become carp overnight, however, I will still be sh1tting bricks every time the skates get within thirty yards of a goal with Bart between the sticks

I cannot see how they are not intrinsically linked economically. If the loan is recalled by the administrator then the club folds. If no further money is forthcoming from the holding company, the club folds. The club is absolutely dependant upon the money from CSI therefore they are economically linked. If the club was a viable concern, generating its own cash flows and absolutely self sufficent, then it would be different and I would say that a points deduction isn't warrented. But that isn't the case, is it.

Actually I am glad they are doing this. By demanding in effect 4x pay on the back of a £44k salary and 43 days holiday, there will be few people sympathetic towards them and it just highlights how much of a loon Bob Crow really is. People will stop taking him and his union seriously.

Here come the olive branches from Europe. After securing favourable headlines for their respective electorates, the Europeans get about the business of ensuring that our net contribution doesn't go walkies. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-16177674

We used to have a real problem with this when I was growing up. In the end the old man put in the concrete fence post which you then slide in the panels. Didn't stop them blowing in, but made them a damn sight easier and cheaper to replace or repair

Not like the EU, changing the rules to suit their purpose

Really? I think Clegg has looked indecisive and ineffective, and by not turning up at the debate, spineless Then why was he publically backing the veto on Friday - http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2011/dec/09/clegg-cameron-veto-eu-summit As I read it Clegg agreed to the path the PM took, and then as he realised how badly he had underestimated the depth of feeling within his own party, has been backpeddling furiously ever since.

Off to Whistler in Feb - They have had over 3m in November. Stayed in Vallandry for the last few years - easy access to la Plagne and les Arcs. You can ski a run with a 2000m descent from the top of the Aigule Rouge at 3200m down to villaroger at 1200m. One of the longest red runs in europe I believe at about 11.5 km.

Some interesting perspectives from the germans. Peter Altmeier, a senior member of German Chancellor Angela Merkel's CDU party, tells the BBC he's "pretty much certain this is just one example" of David Cameron going it alone "and better examples of cooperation will follow". He says the UK made demands in Brussels which were "so far going" they simply couldn't be agreed, and points out that many other countries have asked for exemptions to things - the French on agriculture for example - "that the UK would never agree". German newspaper Der Spiegel says Chancellor Angela Merkel "wants to prevent Britain and the eurozone from drifting further and further apart", and feels it's important "to give the British the feeling that they are still part of Europe". But the paper believes the French feel differently, "hoping that they will carry more weight in a union that does not include Britain". I can't help feeling that Sarkozy, with an election in April and miles behind in the polls, was looking for some tub thumping headlines to help himself. He had the Germans on side because the Germans need the French more than us at the moment.

Cracking with the Xmas pud and mince pies for that matter.

What is clegg upto, Friday he was supporting the veto, now he is bleating about why it is a bad deal for the uk. This isn't exactly convincing me that he is a strong leader
