Random fact of the day and of interest to Saints fans is that the bloke on the receiving end of his second yellow,Yeovil No 3,was our mate

Prutton was considered a bit of a coup when we signed him (same day as Higginbottom I think) at the end of a January window. Unfortunately didn’t really fulfil the potential hoped for. Was pretty reckless at times throughout his career. Got sent sent off at an important stage of a play off SF whilst on loan at Forest. Having come on after 60 minutes he had two yellow cards to be off just as they were heading into Extra Time. Forest had been 2-0 up from the first leg and lost the second leg at home 5-2.

That ended a pretty shit week for Prutton and Saints. Although we all remember the sending off, Pruttons most significant contribution to our relegation that season was not taking a chance to score at West Brom earlier in the week. Ended0-0 as I recall. Critical result at the end of the season

Good work. But you have to be a Python enthusiast of a certain vintage to appreciate it. No one expects the comfy chair …

Often promoted ‘out of the way’ where they can do less harm. I expect most of us can relate to that and how ‘Teflon coated’ they are. In the case of Wilson I’ve no idea what his record was for Reed to recruit him. But it again seems he’ll leave his current club with reputation intact, possibly even enhanced by the fact Rangers are a ‘big club’.

Didn’t Ulrich Van Gobel also have a run in with the Police in the Netherlands?
-
Beg to differ, with the greatest of respect (of course). I think some of the goals he’s conceded are the worst part of his game.

I’m not sure I’d give those involved with credit for such ‘joined up’ thinking to be honest. Fact was we needed a striker, had done for over season. I imagine the order from on high was simply to sign a striker, and that soon became any striker. We were meant to be in for Vitinha from Braga who from what I’ve seen and read is a pretty mobile and skilful striker about 6’ tall. Only when that failed to materialise did the 6’7” Tall Paul link emerge. Seems all too similar to wanting a midfielder with physical presence (Sangarre) then opting for Diallo.

Seems more of an elephant in the room from what we’ve seen to date.
-
With Willcox coming in, this might be the critical link, assuming their time there overlapped. That said, Viera's track record as a manager isn't great, and like Lampard and Gerrard is probably still talked up because of his playing career.

Is finishing with “ , pal?” no longer the go to for a more confrontational style ?
-
Of the up and comings you mention, Rowett has been round a few clubs now and doesn’t seem anything special. Think he’s meant to be defensive in his set ups. Also did nothing of note at Stoke. ( Ring any alarm bells?).

Good. Not before time. Begs the questions 1) how they got tickets in the first place, and 2) if the stewards would have been so insistent if it were a group of five burly blokes.
-
Wow! I thought they’d picked up under him a bit, been a bit better organised and got a few draws as well. Glad they’re struggling. Just a shame we don’t seem to be able to take advantage.
-
That’s both Dyche and Woy who’ve come into their clubs and turned things round. But not for us. Thanks Rasmus, you cunt.
-
We had a few 1-0 defeats along the way, had we turned some of those round we were challenging for Europe. We were that close to a successful season. Fine margins # and all that. ~ from Planet Rasmus, and his marginal gains in a relegation season critical assessment talk. (No mention of appalling recruitment, and the lunacy of the Jones appointment).
-
Think you’re overplaying and putting too much reliance on having an ‘affinity’ with a club where it simply didn’t work out for him.
-
They purchased the club early 2022 didn’t they ? So even if it did start before them , they’ve had ample opportunity to address it. Last summer possibly, and certainly in November but have royally bollocksed it.
-
Difference is that we were the only ones offering Hoddle rehabilitation at the time. Unlikely Potter won’t have more attractive offers still in the Premier League.
-
Doubt he’s even registered on Ankersen’s radar or got his name on a spreadsheet yet. As Lee on Solent says he hasn’t done much at Ashton Gate and a few weeks ago there were rumbles from some supporters there wondering how he was still in a job.

Yes, the fear of someone cancelling a Ted Talk, or declining to publish his latest motivational book must keep him and his ego awake at night.
-
Having been at West Ham last week I can say, we have tried it, and on that showing probably not worth persevering.
-
All routes lead to Ankersen.

This is a bit like a Rasmus theory on Fine Margins# from one of his online Ted Talks. Or perhaps you lifted this from Rasmus’ Easter Message ?
