  1. The elusive “another day..”. Seem to remember many of these being promised in 2004/5, and then again under Poortvliet.
  2. Don’t agree with that assessment. Branfoot had the footballing genius of Le Tiss at his prime available to him but chose to try and freeze him out. Branfoot also had a group of players who you could rely on to put the effort in. Compare that with the shit Ralph has at his disposal. That’s not to say RH is without fault in selection and tactics but don’t think he ranks in the Branfoot league.
  3. This is where many of our problems stem from, scouting and recruitment. This includes getting the deal done, where does that lie, is that with Semmens ?
  4. See mention of the name Marcelo Daniel Gallardo on another thread. Did Les leave behind his magic South American Name Generator software with the black box ?
  5. I’d be pleased if he could raise his game to be a new Telfer.
  6. Yes, as someone pointed out on the thread both Semmens and Steele served with Reed so if they learnt nothing else it's good to see that the Art of Dither is still in the club DNA.
  7. Taking those two points in isolation, who is responsible for not having the cover for the DM, and failing to sign a striker ready for the first team ?
  8. Perhaps they were watching Goztpe lose 2-0 at home.
  9. Good post, covering a lot of the ills and issues at SFC at the moment.
  10. As Les used to tell us at the time of each appointment. Yet we still ended with Pelligrino.
  11. Taken off the BBC site: Don't recall seeing that last sentence very often before on here.
  12. Won't be ready to manage us as long as he's got a hole in his arse according to a Stoke fan I know. Would be a pretty unambitious appointment, but yet again that seems consistent with the the board.
  13. Earlier in the summer someone ( think it was Pilchards) posted a reference to Nathan Jones from Luton. Although that was at the time we were recruiting backroom coaches. Probably nothing in it, but thought it worth mentioning after your post.
  14. You reckon she’ll last four years in her job then ?
  15. Not too bothered about Shields leaving. His record is with youth recruitment, there’s no guarantee that his success in that area will continue into first team recruitment. And even at youth level then it’s probably a lot easier to attract players to City or Chelsea than us. Can’t blame him for wanting a return to London as that’s where he’s spent the majority of his career . And might as well grasp the opportunity now whilst his stock is high. He knows a couple of years here might significantly dent his reputation. Shame re the timing as it does give a ‘rats and sinking ship’ feeling. But Rasmus put together a good scouting network at Brentford so am hopeful he can the same here. Assuming he doesn’t want to place them at the Turkish club first,
  16. He’s the next head of recruitment
  17. Perhaps Ankersen has spent too long in the company of Semmens and Steele. Their apparent ambition for the club has rubbed off on him.
  18. Did he say they had a ‘kebab shop mentality’ ?
  19. Not sure the club should put their trust in some prick who models his head on looking like Nathan Redmond.
  20. Answering part of the question regarding Chelsea’s appointments this article was linked on the BBC Gossip page: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2022/oct/12/chelsea-joe-shields-from-southampton-as-head-of-recruitment Says they want to appoint technical, recruitment , and sporting directors ! Seems like they’ll be tripping over each other in their roles.
  21. Thought this as well . But isn’t the bloke from Leipzig a Director of Football or operations ? If he is then Shields could still be head up the recruitment.
  22. Martin Semmens mixing in elevated company. The fear is that some of their charisma and ‘knowhow’ has rubbed off on him.
  23. Greetings pop-pickers. Good video and acclaim (I assume) for MLT the great talent.
  24. Despite the criticism coming his way I’ve not heard Ralph ever complain the squad is down to ‘the bare bones’. Although he has twice described our performance on occasion as shit.
  25. I’m sure SR will be unimpressed if they take stock of the club. We’re meant to be the pinnacle of their network. I wrongly assumed ‘pinnacle’ as at the top of it, rather than becoming the club the wasters calling themselves Pinnacle might have created before Marcus Liebherr bought us.
