  1. Haven't yet though... but it certainly looks a promising one if it happens. Reassuring that the new ownership are looking to be ambitious though.
  2. Agreed, not just this one but the white shoulder effort was another dogs dinner of a shirt. The template I thought worked quite well for Coventry (sky blue, and white)_, and toi a lesser degree for Villa (claret and sky). It might have worked well for our away kit (yellow/blue, or sky/navy) had they chosen it, but for the home it really was red and pink. R&W halves would be good for a change.
  3. Time will tell, but he could be this summers Rudi Skacel, or Javier Pedro.
  4. Rasmus flying to Spain ... Rupert is (allegedly) seen driving down the Aston Expressway into Birmingham on a Sunday evening ... Paul Allen's yacht... earlobe watch got to love the way these rumours start, and gather momentum
  5. I don't take issue with the women's game, good luck to them, but the promotion of it, and the media - BBC in particular - looking to elevate it and talk of it as if at the same standard as the men's game is ridiculous. Wonder what the fall out from all the media 'luvvies' will be when someone transitions to play Woman's football. Can imagine the interview with Pauline Pogba in a dress saying that "she's" really a woman and the fact "she" has transitioned hasn't given her any physical advantage over the others in the sport.
  6. Beggars can't be choosers and all that... but I'd much prefer a good permanent signing. Or at the very least an option to buy. Obviously depends on ££ though.
  7. Fair point. Wasn’t aware of that.
  8. Hoedt and Gunn should be added to the ‘fail’ column.
  9. Agree. And if I was a Bristol City fan I’d be fuming that my team were wearing a blatant copy of an Arsenal strip.

Thanks for posting that MLG. The size of the city would explain the interest in Gdansk.
  11. Seems to be some skill and talent there, although not convinced if he's a CB suited to the English game. Wonder if he's got the makings of a defensive midfielder.
  12. You’re probably right, but this is misguided in my view and false economy. Put some experience in there (esp MF and CB) will only assist the development of the younger players. Throw them in to simply ‘sink or swim’ and many will struggle.
  13. Hope it doesn’t lead to the CB’s and GK asking the inevitable question … wherefore (the fuck) art thou ? As someone else posted last week noholdsbard#
  14. This certainly has the hallmarks of the sort of signing we’d look to make, young, good enough once to make it to a big (mega) team, but unproven (and therefore affordable). Plus the resale potential. Can’t get excited by it though, we already have the young/potential/resale CB in Salisu. We need experience alongside him, not another gamble no matter how the stats/algorithms/tea leaves line up. Obviously know little about him, but from what I’ve read would prefer Niakhate (from Mainz, linked with Forest). A bit older but four years in the Bundesliga rather than 20 games farmed out on loan, and have read Niakhate is a bit of an organiser at the back for his team. The Hungarian CB , Szalai , was meant to be in the same price bracket, only 24 and international experience. But no doubt we’ll try and be clever in our scouting, ending up with a novice pairing at the back. Bazunu could be in for a baptism of fire.
  15. Exactly, so why is he with Ankersen for transfer talks ?
  16. Did we though ? Not read that before.
  17. What is this blokes role in player recruitment ?
  18. Except that the 20 year old is unlikely to be with us in two/three years if he fulfills his potential, and Chelsea will probably have a conveyor belt of GK's in front of him there.
  19. Disappointing to lose one of our prospects, especially that we make a big thing of providing a better pathway etc.
  20. An interesting read including another link to YouTube showing a match played as part of the trial, at non league level, in the 1990’s Something I noticed was how a fullback was happy to simply watch the ball trickle out of play for a ‘kick in’. Under the current system the tendency would be to get his head down and bomb up the wing or look to play it forward quickly.
  21. We’ve certainly signed a fair few planks over the last few years as well.
  22. True, not knocking the conclusion he's drawn at all. Whilst your mate and reasonable Pompey supporters will probably look on and watch how he progresses I expect there will be some who already take the view "he was just a bit shit when he was with them.." and will delight in shouting about it at the start of next season.
  23. Ex-loanee Danny Guthrie: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-61811817
  24. Got to love Pompey's sense of self-importance and worth, it has no limits ...
  25. … against Armenia. I’ve completed the sentence for you.
