You don't have to be MLG to spot the obvious deficiency as far as many are concerned. No mention of hating Pompey.

Or a modern and EPL version of Guly Do Prado ? Just hope he's not a Mayuka Mk II.

May be able to answer part of my own question here having looked something up on youtube. Channon and McCalliog wearing the shirts with three stripes, but Osgood and defenders in the two striped version. Good to see how good Channon looked in full flight, must ahve seen him round the keeper like that a few times.
-
Agreed, just hope he shows the same attitude and degree of humility in a couple of years when linked with a move to Liverpool or wherever.

Looking at the Historical kits website, does anyone recall us playing in this variation of the 1976 kit ? I seem to recall seeing one player wearing it in the team photo (Austin Hayes I think) but don’t remember it being worn during a match.
-
Wasn't a great fan of this at the time but it's grown on me over the years, possibly partly due to nostalgia (european cup winners cup, promotion, Ted MacDogall, Boyer, Bally, Channon's return..), partly due to some worse designs since makes it look smart. The design also looks improved without the Admiral logo plastered down the sleeve.

Hideous.

My recollection of it also, always looked red and pink, or possibly light and dark pink. CB Fry may have a point regarding the colour definition being improved, but the return to the same shades doesn’t appeal to me. Would prefer the straight Feyenoord red and white halves. That would look ‘bold’.

Eric Martin was a favourite of mine when I first started following Saints. Remember the "Eric for Scotland" chants when Scotland had a decent team, early 1970's. Not up to the three you mention but in his prime I'd say he was no worse than FF. Had an incredible run didn't he? I really though Lawrie had pulled off a masterstroke signing him, but his confidence dissolved in that game and after. Agreed. Always felt he was unfairly cast aside after we signed Paul Jones.

Like the idea of having an Attila in the defence, should strike fear into the opposition. This bloke was heavily linked with Chelsea before the January window, I think £25m was bandied about in the press. I'll bow to your greater knowledge of him then as he looked a bit of a show pony on the youtube clip I saw.
-
Also said he could barely read. Seems he'd overcome that obstacle only a few years later when reading to his room mate in "I'm a celebrity".
-
Yes I saw that. Bold and brave. Could be worse, "strong and stable" springs to mind.
-
Was that when he realised Rupert was keeping a close control on finances and transfer dealings ?
-
I'd vote for a kangaroo or alligator to eat his testicles if the opportunity arises.
-
Thought we had (nd it was one of the contract extensions kept under wraps like the McCarthy non-announcement). Seemed to recall that from a Dan Sheldon post or comment, but might be wrong.

Let go.

Aged 25 the penny finally drops that it's a team game!
-
Cabellero starting doesn't worry me, but would prefer FF on the bench rather than Lewis. Djennepo or Samllbone staring are my main concerns. Would like the strongest team, with Romeu starting if only to frighten Grealish, but just has to be careful he doesn't sneeze on him or MFD will see it as red card offence.

Will be ridiculous after his showing the other week.

Unless becomes known as the manager who lost 9-0 ( three times)* *or thrice if you prefer

For at least 90 minutes on Sunday I suspect Putin will be the second most hated man in the world on my list. When did we last win a match with MFD as ref ?
-
As contemptible as their owners ( and others, think Glazers, Dildo Brothers, spurs, etc) may be it’s not quite in the same league as having close ties/relationships with murderous regimes though.

I recall the home game against them where the fans were banned, mid 80's. The tickets that would have gone to Chelsea were given free to local schools. Made for a strange atmosphere in that whenever the ball went towards the Archers Road End where they were situated there was a wailing of high pitched voices rather like watching the England Schooboys international on World of Sport. The banning though was probably the result of the incidents you and Kraken describe the season before. I don't recall them coming down for the match they were banned. Certainly a lot of trouble against Chelsea in 1983 I think (after they were first promoted) and in the Cup 1981.

Yes, tried a few times on the OS and it just took me to the page with details for the ticket sales. Found the email received from the club yesterday advising of the sales today and that had a "buy tickets" link which took me straight in to buy them.

Doesn't Chris Wood have an unfortunate knack of scoring against us despite seeming to be crap the rest of the time ? And Shelvey as well for that matter.
