  1. Alternatively it might be an appointment to the end of the season, massive bonus to keep us up. If I was in Reed's shoes I wouldn't expect him (Silva) to be looking any longer than that. It seems pretty clear he covets the Everton job*. *Perhaps Les will see this as another opportunity to fleece them for compensation when he leaves for them though.
  2. Think I've read this a few times before though. Do you think we will ?
  3. No had a 2-2 a couple of years ago. Not as good as c2003/4 when we had the better of them for a couple of years including the 4-0 in the FA Cup and the Delap overhead 1-0
  4. Too lightweight and fragile, both physically and mentally, pairing any two of those. Any of them would improve with a stronger CB partner alongside them.
  5. Lowe did for the Gray/Strachan appointment, on a Sunday evening as well as I recall, and Cortese did for Adkins/Poch. As for Reed, we can hope, but it seems unlikely for the Master of Dither to act in such a fashion, our dealings are far more drawn out.
  6. For physical presence the two names touted on here and in the press have been Jansen at Leeds, and Julien from Toulose. Can't see Jansen being keen given our league position, although that can of course be overcome by £££. Don't know much about Julien, but neither have played at the PL level before so represent a risk.
  7. Gracia can't be that highly rated or known as none of our respected pundits on here have, to my knowledge, ever mooted him for us.
  8. Excellent to get a point from a game where most of us were expecting a thumping. But as said before, it counts for nothing if we revert to type in the next match and balls that up. On the strength of previous experience after such games against the more glamorous opponents I don't think we can rely on MP to motivate for the upcoming Brighton & WBA matches, so perfect opportunity to make the change now. But we know that's unlikely and instead Reed will probably allow MP to indulge in bringing his preferred 'bit part' player from Monaco in and see how that goes before taking any action.
  9. .. amongst five clubs in six years.
  10. Remember the Wigley , then 'Burley effects'.... Agreed, should have been the final straw.
  11. Because we can't.
  12. Didn't this ring any alarm bells Les ?
  13. Wonder what Les Reed's response to this is. Will he take his head out of his anus and act, or will it be more of the same f^ckwitttery that has brought us into this position.

    Quincy Promes

Unless a five month cameo with us could be seen as an audition for one of the big 6. But no , can't see it happening.
  15. Their GK was rumoured to be looking to go out on loan - Trapp - but would ahve thought he'd have more attractive options open to him.
  16. No prizes for guessing when he'll score his first goal for them then and who the opposition will be.
  17. No wonder Les seems to dither on transfers and managerial appointments, most of the day is spent guffawing at some of the stuff written on here.
  18. Largely due to managerial failings though
  19. I think Les has been rumbled now. Initial thought is that I can't see us splashing £25-30m on a player, or one that sits within that price bracket being prepared to sign for us. Dutch international. Hope he doesn't share an agent with RK and VD though.
  20. Difference being that we were quite optimistic over what Skacel would bring if he signed.
  21. That link seems to have died.
  22. Fact is most people would like to see some focus on what is happening at St Mary's & Staplewood at a time when things are in a steady decline and no sign of direction or leadership at the club. Most of the comments made are in jest, but our current state of flux does give something to moan about.
  23. Are you sure that's a fans group rather than our new board of directors ? New team manager even ?

    Les Reed

So Walcott, despite being linked has gone elsewhere. What a surprise. I didn't vote initially and still believe he deserves credit for his part in our rise, but this is wearing thin. That's Toby, Koeman, last January's CB, the appointment of a decent manager last summer, the continued employment of this bloke, and not bringing in Walcott after being widely linked. Whilst there are other factors contributing to these failings, the one constant is the avuncular Les Reed, ably assisted by his pocket-jock apprentice for the last eighteen months.
  25. Nice one Les.
