  1. Ditto ... good name. Hope you have a good Saintsfest p1ss up, Saints shirts and leiderhosens, not sure how they go together.
  2. I think he's found John McGrath's old shorts.
  3. hive
  4. Thought it was internet purchase only
  5. Just googled Alf Charles - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alf_Charles - inside forward, 1937.
  6. Didn't Saints have a black GK, possibly in the 1920's, Alf Charles ?
  7. Yes, I meant David Hughes.
  8. Didn't we have a young midfield player, Paul Hughes who scored either on his debut or after only a couple of games, possibly when Alan Ball was our manager ? Then injured and disappeared.
  9. Injury record and without a club for however long.
  10. Stephens confidence will take a greater battering if he's torn apart week after week in the league.
  11. Three and a half year contract on £100,000 a week it is then.
  12. Franny Benali.
  13. After yesterday this is probably the more critical consideration
  14. So, South American recently playing in Serie A, work permits, recovering from an injury, probably not match fit... Seems it has the hallmarks of a classic Saints signing. Nice one Les, it was all so avoidable
  15. He'll do what Ralph and Kat tell him. Whether they choose to intervene is another matter.
  16. For all those talking about Marco Silva now though, please bear in mind Hull have allowed him to bring some replacements in to cover key positions. How would he fare if he'd had our most recent window to contend with? Hypothetical I know, but it has left Puel short changed to say the least.
  17. Don't worry chaps, bound to be a reassuring youtube video from Uncle Les at the end of the season telling us everything is under control.
  18. Can't imagine there'll be many takers lining up for him.

Talented yes. But also seems brittle.

    Puel

Don't think it helped though. First half we looked content to sit back and defend, and hit West Ham on the break. We were almost trying to play as an away team. Ok against Liverpool at home in the league when they were on form, but this was West Ham for Christ sake. Silva has had the benefit of his club being able to bring players in, and as we know we have been rather slack in that department, Gabbiadini aside.
  21. It was certainly relegation material that I witnessed today. Bury your head in the sand if you like.
  22. A concern for me today is any suspensions picked up as without any games between now and the final that will rule them out of that. (Unless we hastily arrange the Arsenal home fixture for the week before if its only a one game suspension). Worst case is Romeu getting an early yellow today, then having to tread eggshells for the rest of the match *****il subbed of course).
  23. Yes, that's the fella. Same one that has taken us into the final third of the season with an inadequate selection of CB's - one injury or suspension away from a real crisis - after starting the season light on goal scorers. Like players, he is judged on his current and recent form rather than over his entire career or time with us.

  25. As does Snodgrass
