Mauricio Pochettino staying as Southampton manager - Official
Badger replied to Ashley Grute's topic in The Saints
I think he's hedging his bets, as he probably said on Saturday that Poch was leaving, now this. Either way, he can now claim to have "told you so" when the dust settles. -
yes, I can see them dividing some of the responsibility rather than leaving one person dictating every direction.
-
That's why I'd see him as a head of operations perhaps rather than a CEO who would be dealing with the corporate side, which might still involve more of an 'international' aspect.
-
I think Williams would make an excellent head of operations from all that I've read about him.
-
Slight worry though is this picture of John Williams Could not be related to ... ,,,could he ? if so I think we should be told. (As they used to say in Private Eye),
-
Of the names mentioned on here, Purslow, Llambias, and Williams, then John Williams seems by far to be the 'safest pair of hands' with less controversy in his background. Doubt the being local will count too much for the KL or the panel interviewing though, and unfortunately at 62 they might not consider this a 'dynamic' enough appointment. Much depends on the short or long term intentions of KL.

Think it was covered on this thread: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?43418-Forgive&highlight=John+Bailey#.UtvCGbBFD4g

I know very little about Derek Llambias but the interesting thing reading about him (Wikipedia as one source) it appears that he was unpopular amongst the fan base whilst at Newcastle, in the same way as Purslow at Liverpool, although there are conflicting comments about Purslow of course.

earlobe alert at the ready.

And John Bailey next.

from his time at Newcastle ?

If we got to that stage then the likelihood is that NC & Wang will want a manager proven at that "next level" , so expect MP's days to be numbered, and await Pep Guadiola or Jurgen Klopp's arrival. We are only assuming Wang would stick with NC of course, as he has no experience of a club of that size on the European/world stage. Really ? Protect our - as in the supporters - interests ? Wonder if you'll still be saying that wnen ticket prices are £60 a time, £80 for the CL matches.
