What was the make of the Keegan kit ? Patrick or something similar.
-
The two names I recall then were Malbranque and Saha at Fulham that WGS had suggested to Lowe. But His Rupertship agreed to McCann & Phillips. Also around that time WGS was reported to be interested in two young England U21's at Ipswich, Darren Bent and a left back ....Richards. Bent of course went on to be sold for some ridiculous multi-million £sums, Richards was last playing for Walsall.

On the Drogba question, I thought the reason given afterwards was that he was too similar to Beattie so not needed.
-
Were we once linked with Collins John as an exciting young striker once ? http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/edgar-davids-is-the-star-signing-but-its-collins-john-who-could-be-the-saviour-8209161.html Now with Barnet having never reached his 'potential'. Just goes to show we have had some narrow escapes, as well as mistakes .

When did Rooney last have a good game for England ? And like many others- Lampard and Gerrard immediately spring to mind - when did he reprduce his club form for England.
-
Agreed.

So, we now have this megacentre for English football talent. Now that we have the facilities, what excuse can we now use , for our failures in 2014 (perhaps too soon for it to have an impact), and 2018 onwards ? Is it the demanding fixture schedule, media pessure/expectation, tough group, well we never win on penalties?....

He's the future of English football don't you realise ? Out of interest, was it Woy who signed him for Liverpool ?
-
ok - only joking * *slightly

I can't believe ITV show this rather than Coronation St. With their dull team of Rubber Faced Brummie Twa^t Adrian, and the wooden f^cker Townsend as an expert, I'd far rather watch the Street frankly.
-
I would have liked for Dickson to have had a run out in the Cup v Sheff Weds. Certainly more sense than playing Seaborne out of position.
-
Would prefer to Hoddle to 'arry. But its immaterial, as NA remains in charge.

No. A thoroughly decent bloke, who has done us proud, taking us beyond expectation from the day he arrived. He will be a good prem manager, in time. Having said that though, is the above argument purely based on sentiment ? His substitutions today weaken the case in my view although I'd like to stick with him.
-
Captain, in my view should be a midfielder, or defender who is in a position to influence things on the pitch. I remember Mick Channon captaining us in 1975, but it detracted from his own game. Lawrie replaced him with a right back, Peter Rodrigues, an experienced player and natural captain, (The rest is history !)

Bizarre substitutions. Mayuka for JP would have made sense to try and strech Fulham. Taking Lambert off borders lunacy unless he is injured, he's the one most likely to hold the ball up to allow us to group and create anything.
-
Equaliser today or not, I think its 50:50 if he'll still be in charge when we play West Ham. Not what I particularly want but the Int break does give the chance for NC to make a swift change.
-
An opportunity for Rodriguez to show he's a £6m striker, although he may be played as a £6m square peg in a round hole. In many ways I think Mayuka might have given us more attacking options, but its a chance for JR to seize. Defence worries me though, especially with this 77 yr record for Fulham to overturn.

Most hated Celebrity who is still alive and why?

Forgotten about that specimen. Perhaps the most hated freak rather than "celebrity". Possibly between Gok Wan and Russell Brand for the "Should have thrown them away and kept the afterbirth" award. -
Thought the same, especially about our defence. At least we have Mayuka as an impact sub. ...oh and Guly to come off the bench.
-
He's our Japanese 'Latvian Michael Owen'.
-
No. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_Gemmell Obviously I mispelt his surname. Archie was a few years later, and you are right in that I think we were after him when he was at Preston but he ended up at Derby with Clough.

Other than the obvious Channon, and MLT my cult heroes have been those who have been solid performers who give their all without necessarily being spectacular: John McGrath Jim Steele Ivan Golac Mark Dennis (Probably my all time favourite back four !)

Jonathon Woss - smug **** Russell Brand - f^ckin unwashed stain Alan Carr - slimey fat bender At one stage Graham Norton might have won this hands down but he really has been overtaken in the last lap. Honourable mention to Vernon Kay and Tess Daly the gobby Lancastrian couple. -
From the Souness era. Another one at the time was Brad Friedel although we were unable to obtain a work permit.

More recently, Gorkks and Buttner.
