From their time with us, Sergei Gotsmanov is probably more deserving.

Bloody happy-clappy, must be difficult typing with foam hands on ! Bet you sat in front of the PC wearing face paint .... stone island... I go to more games than you and was going to The Dell when I was a foetus.... my season ticket is bigger than yours ...COYR ....blah, blah... Actually, totally agree with you, always enjoy reminiscing some of former players and times (even the dark times don't seem so desperate in hindsight, although perhaps thats because of how things have gone). But what I'g give to have Golac, Michael Svennson, or Niemi in their prime avalable to us next season.

Perhaps we should also have another statue erected, in a Roman like pose of our once leader, with inscription "I am Ruperticus"

Sir Alf ..."could be a major in mufty" ? Opening lines ! -
I remember another character we were linked with one summer, some Algerian striker, may have bben playing in France. Not too sure on the name, but something like Aboucherone .The deal did not happen, and again it was speculated that it just ground to a halt when Rupert accepted there would be work permit problems. At least we've never heard of the player again and it has not haunted us. Anyone else note the goalkeeper for Croatia, Pletikosa (sp) ? This was the chap in our sights before we signed Niemi.

That seemed to me the most likely available slot we are looking to fill, and the one he might well end up in.Wonder how we'll juggle him and Kevin De Bruyne should that one happen as speculated a week or so ago. -

Thanks for that, it does seem a fairly informed piece. Certainly paints a better picture than the youtube highlights. If that article is to be believed, then yes get him on the bus, or on board with an oar in his hand... -

Would it ? Not trying to argue the point but I don't know enough about him other than reading he's previously been watched by some of the higher profile clubs and valued at £5-6m. The only snippets on youtube show him as a goalscoring midfielder who appears to play in a fairly advanced role, is that what we need ? Sticking with Lawrie's great theory we need dustmen as well as violinists. Michu looks a violinist to me, we also need some dustmen. -
We tried to sign 'Mido' when he was still plain Ahmed Hossam

I think the Mido connection goes back further than you sggest regarding him joining spurs. I thought we tried signing him whilst Hoddle was at Saints, but failed on a work permit.

I thought this debate was concluded when there was a suggestion of Sam Haman taking Wimbledon to Dublin. Quite simply, No.

Driving home the other night I heard "Hey Baby" on the radio . I know Newcastle adapted it a few years ago for Shearer but the "Jay" substituted for " hey" should give an easy route into a good song. Personally would still like the 80's classic "can't get enough" going at St Mary's.

Lazy bastard , he should be at the Euro's. How will we cope in the Prem with a part-timer in charge.

Except that Clyne, as I understand it, is out of contract so Palace can not negotiate on wher he goes. There might be some 'compensation' due to Clyne's age so that may be a slight opportunity for us, but again, don't think we can enter into negotiations with payers going there until Clyne has signed.
