  1. Never ceases to amaze me how the fat reptile Slobberdyce goes public on this, in the same way 'arry does in order to unsettle a player. As someone else pointed out, its good that NC/NA manage to conduct issues with dignity and discretion. To apply a Keeganism, I'd love it, really [f'kin] love it, if we pulled off a major signing that no bastard in the media or elsewhere had wind of.
  2. Is he that good though ? Saw he scored five the other week but was that a fluke ? At 6'5" he does not appear the nippy strike/foil for Lambert many on here are craving for. I thought the big Dutch potential was Luuk De Jong, but his club seem to want silly money £7-10m. Still perhaps he'll sign same day as Shaqiri.
  3. Not to mention, including a reference to Skacel signing. That really would be a ribtickler.
  4. Timing of this is a remarkable coincidence as Pardew has today said he is likely to be in the market for a defender.

  6. Thanks for clearing that up.
  7. He did previously deal with Beckford whilst he was on loan at Scun-thorpe.
  8. But wasn't Ruddick previously our Wiltshire/South West scout who ran the Bath centre ? I seem to recall a story that he was due to retire but the skates under Hart, or Redknob persuaded him to defect to them for a couple of extra years, and this was trumpeted by them as a major coup. Hope I'm wrong on this though but if he did join them, then it might explain why he is often at their games.

  10. A bit of a Lallana trait there, not to mention Fernandez.
  11. Dickson looked our best crosser from the left last season. Shame in my view that he is out of plans this season.

  13. A question regarding Sharp, if any have seen him play or know, what is his style of play, and what does he bring to the team ? He clearly has a good scoring record, but I don't think he has blistering pace, so does he also offer some aggression up front (as Barnard might), or guile (as Connolly) ? Or is he just an out and out scorer as someone described Austin above, "right place, right time" ? which in itself is a pretty good skill to have. Before anyone answers, I accept he is currently available for selection whereas LB is not, and it will probably be only another five matches before DC also runs out of steam. So not intended merely as comparison with these two
  14. I used to think that, but listening to reports on 5live after a few Burnley matches, I have heard comments as to how hardworking the bloke is for the team and compliments paid to his 'link up play' etc. Personally I'm not sure about the other two either due to injury record (Sharp) and whether Maynard despite his pace, would fit into our team ethic and style of play.
  15. Agree about Morgan yesterday, my concern about him is whether he is able to produce that form consistantly. The only way of knowing is of course if NA selects him again for the visit of Bristol City, rightly or wrongly I expect Hammond will come back as the CM positions are rotated with the BHA match in mind.

  17. Had she also gone to Church, you of course could have taken the opportunity to stuff the turkey !
  18. Jimmy (as in the TOTP presenter, or going for a 'Jimmy')
  19. Although not working in retail, I agree with her about Sunday's.
  20. The Vicar reading sermon at our local Midnight Service last night did not agree with you . I interrupted his sermon in front of a packed church to ask.
  21. Remember that game, Barry Ferguson ,v Blackburn, just before Luggy was sacked. Did not realise D'Urso was the ref though.
  22. Lambert
  23. When did he last ref a Saints game, and what history does he have with us ?
  24. Indeed, Happy Christmas.
  25. I expect others said this of us when we had Branfoot, then more recently Gray,Luggy, Wigley, the Dutch duo etc
