  1. I expect Mayuka may be NA's impact sub for a while whilst he settles in.
  2. Think you are over optimistic, or greedy . I can't see us signing both of those. If any more come in after Ramirez I think it'll be a 'beast' of a CB, or left back.
  3. Way more, if Modric is £30m Bally would be another £10/15m more. Ron Davies would have been far more than Carroll at £35m.
  4. Every forum has one !
  5. In Hampshire,Devon, and Gloucestershire it might be, but its probably a routine day of begrudging and misery for Alps !
  6. Perhaps better than a Kinkladze Revisited season, ie player a genius whilst those around him get relegated as at Man City some years ago. However it will be the signings in defence that probably sort that out for us.
  7. Until I see the usual photo of him at SMS in either the shirt , or with a scarf I shall continue to believe Gaston Ramirez is a cure for indigestion rather than a footballer, let alone a Saints player. 5000 posts. This must exceed the combined total of Charlie Austin (who had a dozen medicals with us) and our year long Rodriguez thread.
  8. Be mightily amazed if we sign the first four, or even three of them frankly.
  9. Fair point, I'll watch it again. or ask one of my sons for the FM profile etc.
  10. Oh f^ck, lets hope its not another "yippee we've signed him, class player , should be available in six to eight weeks when we get a work permit" .
  11. Fell with style though, befitting a £5m player.
  12. Well, good if he is. Don't we have a Dutch journalist contact now, on the back of the Buttner & Lens sagas ? Perhaps one of our twitterers can sound him out.
  13. Looks too good on the clips, and is too young and promising for Ajax to let go in my view. Unless they are strapped for cash, but with potential Champions League campaign it seems unlikely.
  14. Left back according to Wiki and an article saying Newcastle were after him in May.
  15. Shame as he could be our latter day Ken Monkou.
  16. Redtw^t as ever, promoting himself for his next job, mega pay day, and then bumper pay off when it goes tits up.
  17. Just post a youtube clip.
  18. Just a thought, but Olson, Dann and now Goodwillie mentioned. What chance a bundle package from Blackburn ? Would save a lot of time in to-ing and fro-ing with another club. Not that Goodwillie is necessarily a player we need.
  19. GK - no idea Full Back - is Olson even a remote possibility ? CB - This Douglas character is possibly the best option we might hope for, although he'll probably end up elsewher Ramirez - that one is up in the air whilst two chairmen play a game of bluff, expect him to end up at Spurs, Liverpool or elsewhere now that our interest is so public Phillips - this is a signing I'd like to happen but Blackpool are unlikely to sell (to us). Biglia - isn't he now bound for Norwich anyway ? More realistic will be Dann, or an overpriced crock such as Dawson, or Upton, and a Serie A loanee.
  20. I expect we'll play one of the more experienced CB's rather than the two you suggest. Up front, I expect Rodriguez will play some part, on the grounds that a goal or two will do his confidence the world of good.
  21. Except NA appears to have survived the bank holiday weekend sacking so far today that befell Pardew. Sadly though I also fear NC might take action, before the end of September, if we are firmly rooted at the bottom of the table with only one or two points. I doubt however he would see Redtw^t fitting in to our plans etc. but he will either look for another manager with premier league experience, or bring in a coach from the continent. Without wishing to invoke Dalek's hobby horse it would come as no surprise if Hoddle' name is touted. For ambition though NC might try to lure Martinez, as we are of course bigger than Wigan, and offer 'ambitions' of european football beyond his current club. Doubt it would happen though.
  22. I doubt we would bring both Phillips and Ramirez in, more likely one or other. CB - difinitely, but not sure the options here ( the annually relegated Dann, or an untried Jap age 23 ? seem the most likely candidates).
  23. May be so, but it does seem a risky strategy to play this 'poker' and bluff for too long. We wait, the deal does not happen, do we risk missing out on Phillips for this ? Or should we be directing our time and money bending Oyston's ear at Blackpool ? Seems one or other to me so at some stage something has to give or we sign neither ( which is the most likely outcome in my view anyway).
  24. Without jumping on any particular bandwagon, or getting hysterical, he has had all f^cking summer to remedy this and it does not help that when we do eventually attract our long term target - after a twelve month wait - for a reported £6m we play him out of position. Agree about the need for additions though, our back four is out of its depth although obviously Clyne is a young and promising player who is still learning.
  25. Inclined to agree with you. This is the sort of deal which should have been concluded weeks ago if we were interested in him, although at the time we were probably after more ambiyous targets, (Lens for example). Trying to attract him now and it becomes more difficult to sell the vision of chasing European football as realistic ambition .Although this might easily be remedied if the £ signs are big enough, the player may still see it as a fun season scoring for fun at Blackpool in the Championship or a relegation scramble with us.
