...or has not been able to force a move to his preferred option back to Newcastle -
Or just say "bugger his current club" and enter discussions with the youngster's parents

Noting your location, was your late father-in-law Canadian, or American ? I have heard the 'gals' phrase before, and it certainly makes more sense to me to have a reference to 'guys and gals' than a unisex 'guys'. As for 'blokes' or other phrase it depends largely on context.
-
Walcott AND £8m then we might think about it. (yes, I amm taking the **** by the way)
-
Addressing a group of people as 'guys'. This is just a bloody lazy Americanism, used by cVnts trying to appear 'cool' (another pet hate) and modern ('contemporary'). "Guys" is even more infuriating when used inapproriately for a mixed gathering ie 'guys' and 'dolls' as they used to be known.

Not heard in conversation but the 'word' "meh" that appears on here. I assume it is to display an indifference to something, but no idea where the idiotic thing is from.

Mark Hughes and his inflated ego. Only £650,000 reported at the time, but that was broken down as: £0 for Mark Hughes the player. £650,000 for his ego, and his, and his agents, over-inflated opinion of him and his ability

No surprise. Four of them don't want to be there as they don't think its their country they are representing. And I don't suppose the rest are too bothered either. Stuart Pearce ? To think some wanted him as manager at Saints once upon a time.

Judging him on 20 minutes is not bad for some on here though ; many, Jos for one, are condemned before they even kick a ball. But totally agree with you, it is ridiculous to comment that Gazzaniga is "no better than Bart" based on yesterday's cameo appearance. Presumably, plan A is still to bring one in, plan B is an emergency loan , plan C - and we know what the 'C word' stands for - is it possible to recall Tommy Nofingers ? -
Do you mean Scott Marshall O.G ?

£2.5m on Clyne seems plausible to me, but I think the suggestion of the same amount for Gazziniga is unlikely. -
Now on BBC site as a done deal. I wish him well on this move. When he signed it was regarded as a good signal and a bit of a coup, as he was sought after by a couple of Championship clubs after a good spell on loan at Reading. Pardew's first signing - shortly after our Ajax game strangely enough - and it did signal that we were moving back in the right direction. Mostly good memories of his time with us in L1 and NPC, but left behind by our rise. However always amused by the spin doctors : which translates as " A sad decision to have to leave, but I no longer had a future there after promotion to the Premiership. Forest were the best option and offered the most..."

Please explain to me why this is a "team" issue when its the individual competing for a medal ? I understand that members of the team can 'obstruct' others progress and assist their colleague, but wouldn't Cavendish, or an individual have been better off just going for it alone ? Sorry to ask, not a cycling enthusiast or follower, but find the concept of "team" tactics in a race for individuals to be perplexing.
-
"Better" choice, or only choice ?

If he signs for us, then my pr!cks a kipper.

A non-story if ever I've seen one. -
I overheard this when attending a Uni open day with my son, and as you say it often combines "so" and "like" in the same sentence .." I'm like so not going to get an 'A' in Geography" * This was from someone applying to a University rather than a course in hairdressing !. *or was it .." I'm so not like going to get an 'A' in Geography"

Think the word originated in France as "retard" meaning late, subsequently adapted to late/slow developer etc.
-
Agreed.

Thought the same but careful, you'll unleash the wrath of the Guardian readership for raising such a question.
