This, you'd have thought. Yet the latest name proposed is: Lets wait and see, but not inspiring, especially given our track record.
-
Wonder who is responsible for dredging him up. Thought that the 'City lite' approach might have fucked off with Shields and Willcox. Apparently not.
-
You’re obviously a youngster. I think it was 1/- when I first went to The Dell (late 60’s). But yes, simpler and happier days.
-
Haven’t we reliably been informed that Ankerson isn’t involved in decision making and recruitment at Saints but has a Group role ? Perhaps conflicts with Kraft’s Mr Football interview.
-
Not at the time, no. I'm not sure he'd have done any better than RM to be honest, and the fact Leicester fans weren't sold on his style of football despite their season at the time, doesn't bode well. He's doing well at Chelsea but so he should with the squad and £ spent.

Seriously ???? Wish we'd get over this fucking obsession ...

Taken from Dan Roan feature on BBC:

Poor bastard hasn't been seriously linked, let alone appointed. God help him, how he will be pilloried and given abuse if results don't go his way early one.

At least we can rework last season’s song : “ 29 games we’re defeated…. Playing football the Martin * way” * could be Russball, or Lego way. Leave the fans on the day to decide

I’m not convinced Cooper is the answer for us but in his defence: Forest thought they’d outgrown him, which is a reflection of the good job he did there. Leicester - no idea really, square peg round hole, not fitting the egos of the squad perhaps ? They were still a few points ahead of us when he left (part courtesy of Lego and the ref when we played them of course). Also, reverting to a couple of Swansea fans views, Cooper was the only one of the three now higher profile managers (him,Martin, and Potter) they were really disappointed to see leave. )Other Swansea views are I’m sure available.

Fair point, it’s the maximum outlay for them assuming they don’t take something else . I suspect RM with one promotion to his name might be appealing to a few Championship teams. Whether he’d want to take it any time soon of course is another matter.
-
Is that the modern equivalent of Jackanory ?
-
I thought the figure of £12m bandied around was for RM and his contingent. But the source of that is probably from on here !
-
I’ve said something similar on another thread, specifically about a younger manager, and whether being associated with our relegation would knock their confidence for next season. And the supporters perception of them. Ruben Selles appears to have thrown off the relegation experience with us, but needed to drop a couple of divisions first.
-
Danny Rohl might be a decent option next season as he’ll have had 18months experience in the Championship by then. Although we might accept relegation is inevitable and emphasise the ‘building for next season’ is it fair to pitch Rohl or another (relatively inexperienced) manager into the rest of our calamitous season, and would it knock their confidence too much for next ?

Probably isn’t 90% of the fanbase so much as 90% of the Internet forums. It may change but at the moment the natives have yet to really stir (as we did with Branfoot and Lowe many years ago).
-
I don’t know much about Ashworth, but in previous roles it appears he’s had a fairly free hand (which might be his downfall at Man Utd with all the egos there). Questionable how that might align with SR and Rasmus. align - there’s a 2023 Saints buzzword for you
-
Wasn’t that due to a link with Matt Crocker though ?
-
Are they though ? I think this goes under the radar of national media, and is glossed over by the local press( Who should make it more of an issue in my view). RM is a lot more measured in his delivery than Nathan Jones who of course went into public meltdown mode after the Brentford game. The press couldn’t miss that.
-
Do they like the results from his work as well, or is that irrelevant?
-
Sadly that is the case. Just have to question the wisdom of extending his contract. Accept the point that some have previously made that it might possibly been triggered by promotion but really it seems a bloody stupid move and sums up the ineptitude of those running the club.
-
Simple solution: bugger off then …
-
Said to my son, this used to be Saints many years ago, flowing football and free scoring. Usually entertaining, even in defeat. Sadly not in his lifetime.
-
BBC - currently 54% possession. Russ is a genius. Surprised more people can’t see it.

Today, or this season ?
