  1. "...err, squad, wots one of them ? Stupid question really Lawrence".
  2. Is this Dave Jones ? Or have they moved on to another;perhaps an acknowledgement that in the long run , greater things do come out of Southampton. When Cloterrill does get shown the door, I expect WGS name to be thrown around yet again.
  3. Probably a bit low on the ginger count as well to be honest. I hope we don't get a points deduction at the end of the year.
  4. Nothing on OS about this, but I found this c/o Google: http://www.bbc.co.uk/lancashire/content/articles/2009/02/13/my_job_david_chell_man_city_feature.shtml
  5. That might have gone down quite well last night, "excuse me, Taffy, some bloke up there...."
  6. Saturday...home game...De Ridder should start ahead of Guly in my book.
  7. Boro drawn...so we stay top.

  9. Unfortunately I don't think we really have another option do we, other than perhaps moving someone ot of position ?

Can't wait to hear Clotterrill on Solent. We're trying to tune in - bit difficult from Gloucestershire.
  18. Beattie with his sensible and sober head on, rather than the 'muffin man' head, would be a good option as back up providing he knows his limitations at 33 and does not expect to be the main man anymore. But having just issued his job application via the Echo, I suspect the door will be truly bolted if it wasn't before, as we no longer conduct our business in this way.
  19. Frank Worthington used to make a habit of it. Ian Wright, and John Barnes probably prolonged their career because of us. And Dion Dublin.
  20. Yes, I remember the talk of Western Esplanade at the time. As a teenager I was quite excited by the prospect of a new stadium having seen it on local tv. My Dad soon spiked this enthusiasm by pointing out Saints were talking about a new round when he was my age. For decades I expected to be saying the same thing to my children,so was delighted when SMS was built. Go on try us.
  21. I think that might have been at the Milton or Archers end.
  22. I think the idea of turning the pitch around was mooted in the late 60's/early 70's, but I can't imagine how that could have been achieved without major disruption for two seasons or more. In the 70's I believe the club also started to buy houses behind the East Stand - name of the road escapes me but must have walked through it hundred's of times - to expand in that direction also,
  23. That is far too a sensible suggestion for it to happen.
