Agree with you. But Lawrie didn’t just sign older heads, he signed quality. A World Cup winner, a twice promoted (and current Northern Ireland) CB, a former England full back, a former European Cup winning midfielder. I don’t see many with these on their CV signing up ( apart from Lallana Champions League perhaps). ( And this is without mentioning a current European footballer of the year, and England GK).
