  1. Short term till the end of the season would be Cotterill,Dowie or Boothroyd (God forbid !) to try and keep us up.Perhaps Hoddle even. End of the season, bring someone ambitious and capable to build the club again.Tisdale is the candidate. BUT,for anything or anyone to make it happen Lowe must f^ck off first.
  2. Ron Davies the greatest centre forward we have ever seen.
  3. Accepted. But ultimately the problem begins and ends with Lowe.Change the manager, put Mourinho in charge or whoever it won't improve whilst Lowe remains .As I have said before, not even JC, with his disciples as backroom staff, would achieve with the 'beetroot cheeked' bastard as controller.
  4. No we f^cking don't,Grey and Wigley are testimony to how our mistakes are repeated.Dare I suggest Henderson might be on a par with them....although of course he might still be an improvement on our present position.
  5. I thought they had to get three points today, perhaps I was mistaken. Actually I disagree with the parts highlighted in bold;Lowe has to be run out of this club AGAIN,getting rid of JP may only be a short term solution. Perhaps you should take your protests to Ravenswell Farm,Withington nr Cheltenham to see if Lowe will listen,he always closes his ears to the crowds in Southampton.

Gloucestershire Echo tonight says s he's not sure of full time commitment to coming to England,so he will be on loan to Cheltenham Town until the end of season as a sort of trial.
  8. I would have thought Lowe will wait pending results, although I think he sacked Dave Jones - sorry, allowed him to go on a sabbatical - after we had beaten Everton at home.So anything can happen on Planet Rupert.
  9. Have to say its a close call between those two for the most hated ,during their time at the club (which for most people would exclude Redknut and Hoddle). Branfoot was probably spared from relegating us by the sack.Lowe on the other hand has masterminded one relegation already, and not content with that...
  10. Isn't this 'blobbist' ?
  11. Think Ted had been fairly prolific for Norwich though in Div One before he joined us. Moran was a player of immense promise but never fulfilled. Can't comment on his wife;perhaps that is worth an entirely seperate poll, but did she compare with Anders Svennson's 'doris' ,or Mrs Licka?
  12. Branfoot was the most hated manager whilst in position at the club.He has since been overtaken by Red****t in the all time list f'sure. Most useless = wartface.
  13. Not difficult as they had offered him no wages in no deal.Even Rupert would offer a 20% increase on that.
  14. If you were looking for a proven partnership for the 'B' team then Boyer and MacDougall would be a good option.
  15. I remember that causing a bit of amusement on the forum at the time. Clearly Rupert "mis-underestimated" the challenge ahead (to use a GWBushism)
  16. I remember the embarrasing regularity that the phrase "no one is ruled out,no one is ruled in" was used after Hoddle left and before Gray was appointed.Rupert obviously liked it so much he dusted it off and used it again after GH left. I also remember an article after it was announced that WGS was leaving where Rupert said he wanted the next manager to be able to go to places like Old Trafford and Highbury, and win ! Eighteen months later neither were on our fixture list anymore.
  17. Would Saga and Patterson not be a better combination ?
  18. Main difference is that the "paki" referred to - as "our little paki friend" or similar -was within Prince Harry's own regiment.
  19. By many accounts we had a fair quota yesterday.
  20. Intersting suggestion;Southampton 1885,formed 2009. I don't dislike your suggestion but would prefer a reference to St Marys in there, either as Southampton St Marys or St Marys Southampton. Perhaps we could name our playing field, lets not call it a ground or stadium yet as The Antellope Ground. If we really wanted to borrow a name that as disappeared off the radar then Southampton Vikings is another - probably inappropriate - option. Or a name we are frquently familiar with,we could call the club Southampton Nil.
  21. If we stay up then he will have thoroughly deserved to remain in charge. However much will depend on who is around at the end of the season to make the decision. If it is Lowe then presumably he will remain with his "vision" and retain JP.This may even be our best option as I can't imagine we'd attract a much better calibre of manager whilst Lowe remains at the club, and do we really want another pre-season of a new man'finding' his best squad and options ? If Lowe were to be shunted out - and heres hoping - then we may of course be looking to regroup etc and start afresh.I would be quite happy if we looked to build again with someone like Tisdale who might be commited for a relatively longer term, but not if we go down the 'recycled manager' route. Personally I would like to see JP remain in some capacity.Whilst he may indeed be out of his depth with the first team,I think he would be suited to youth team and developing youngsters to play the game in the right - passing- fashion.
  22. More likely to be a framed print of a beetroot cheeked smug tosser of a man in tweed, holding a freshly shot pheasant or duck in each hand.
  23. Good interview.Probably speaks English a lot better and clearer than the scouser we've just signed.
  24. After the operation and recuperation Tim we have to bring Ron back for a special welcome.
