  1. Think he’d be perfect for us, currently out injured
  2. Cortese Dome ? It’s nothing compared to the blueprint for the Rasmus Arena.
  3. Questions: Would the Board make a brave and bold move in getting rid of him, with the hope of seeing some impetus added to our play and season? Answer is “No”. Even if they did, would you have even the slightest confidence of them getting the appointment right ? Again, “no” . Conclusion: he’s with us until the end of the season, so might as well support him.
  4. For me, he’s a pretty average manager with no track record behind him before joining. Unfortunately he is living up to expectation. But I accept that he has been let down by us not signing the striker we’ve needed for two seasons. ‘Style’ of play though is on him.
  5. Singing that at some point of a match in the late 60’s/early 70’s was very much part of the ritual. No match it seemed was complete without it. Same for every club in those days, remember a Reading supporting friend at the time saying how it got going on their terrace on a Saturday at Elm Park.
  6. Really ? Numbers have been quite impressive taking maximum allocations it seems most weeks. The atmosphere though is varied. Hull very good even in the first half, Huddersfield though was very subdued, even when we were on top in the first half.
  7. Probably been the case since the 1980’s.
  8. But will RM look to play more than one up front ?
  9. I for one look forward to seeing ‘Lego Head’ going all ‘noddy’ with his on the pitch post-match celebrations after we win comfortably at The Bernabeu
  10. Did splashing £14m or £18m on the likes of Tall Paul, or Carillo give you more confidence?
  11. I’d like to see a GK who makes the saves you expect of him brought in as well. But with all the talk of how Bazunu has improved that might be a minority choice. And given RM’s statement about being the best GK in the division it’s unlikely to be a starter.
  12. Been thinking about this again, and would we be permitted to have two players on loan from the same club (West Ham) at the same time ?
  13. Or we’re bound to sign the fucker in January. (even bigger ‘lols’ at our muppets responsible for striker recruitment over the last two years)
  14. Probably the most we can realistically hope for. I think Ipswich and Leeds will keep churning results never mind Leicester.
  15. Think you might have partly answered your own question. Our main attacking option that was presumably intended to spearhead our promotion push has barely played and won’t be available until we don’t know when.
  16. Two things spring to mind. 1)Wages 2) He might end up keeping Stewart company in the treatment room.
  17. Read on here that he was someone's "son-ln-law", or at least a bit of one, as well at one point; whatever that is intended to mean.
  18. Expect he might feel he’s outgrown a Championship side if the likes of Celtic can offer Champions League next season.( Although we might still offer more £). On the other hand he was I believe a Darren Mowbray recruit so maybe there’s a good relationship with his agent,
  19. Remember the 1980/81 season well, some good results and games in there, 4-4 away v Spurs on Boxing Day for example. Incredible looking at the fixtures, 80/81 playing on 26th and again on 27th December. Also in the earlier era how games would often be home and away against the same opponent in consecutive games. Amused and annoyed me when I heard the likes of Wenger and Klopp bleating about fixture pile ups !
  20. Found this from Wales Online shows his gestures to Cardiff of the four, and “swim away” gesture https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/southampton-boss-russell-martin-hits-28218193.amp

Remember reading something along those lines, but thought it was more to stop clubs reversing the fixture for the money ( Exeter being drawn at home to Man Utd but opting to play at Old Trafford). Changing venue can also be due to Police advice if the ground and surrounding area can’t cope. Or at least I thought that was the case

Bit of a relief that Eastleigh didn’t draw Man Utd at home in the third round. We might have been required to move our fixture for their larger expected gate ! Are non league clubs still allowed to move their fixtures to a larger ground ? In which case it might have been at St Mary’s. Lead to the thought as to when did Saints last host such a fixture. Think it might have been Salisbury v Millwall in about 1977.

    Could be coming up…
  24. Think he did a post match tactics talk of how they beat Cardiff, and one of the stats bandied about last summer was that he was the first Swansea manager to do the double over Cardiff in a season( that may have been in the Championship, can’t remember). No idea if there was anything more personal about him and the relationship with Cardiff. Would like to say he walked towards their hardcore behind a goal and dropped a log in the penalty area in front of them, but that would be a work of fiction ( or he’s saving that party piece up for Fratton Park),
  25. Wasn’t able to go today, but Solent made reference to him celebrating in front of the Cardiff fans after the match. Anyone offer any comment on this ? And if true is this an acceptable level or side to the post match Noddyness ?
